My modified rice bowl.
melanie a.

This place is great. We came here a year ago and asked for a whole bunch of modifications to the dish I wanted (I'm not picky! I'm vegetarian and can't eat spicy food.). They were super helpful so we made sure to come back again this year (because, also, the food was great). So here we are. I asked for the same modifications and was met with nothing but kindness and understanding ... And then a really good meal. Great service and great food is a combo that's hard to come by. Oh, and my traveling companion is thoroughly enjoying his Pain Killer (a truly amazing cocktail)! Big thanks to Christian and Tyler for a review-worthy dining experience! We'll be back next summer!

The food and drinks are amazing. Come here it's delicious. Customer service Tevin and Tyler superb. You will not be disappointed. I give it 5 stars.

Fantastic tacos and drink options in downtown St. Joseph. Not exactly cheap, as their cheapest single taco is $3.50, but they are high quality ingredients. Each taco is worth every penny and the sauce options are also phenomenal. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you live in the area, are traveling through the area, or are offered to have someone pick them up and bring them to you. I just tried them about an hour ago and I already want to go back to stuff my face with crisply delicious pulled pork tacos.

Good drinks. Fresh food. Brisket was tender. Would recommend for families on a trip to the beach.

Really neat location and cool vibe/ambiance which gives you a beach feel throughout. They also offer a lot of beach type drinks and concoctions with was a pleasant surprise. Want drinking this trip out but definitely intriguing for another time. This would probably be a great spot for meeting with friends or a chill date. The service was fine: were greeted and food came out pretty quick. with how slow it was I guess I would have interacted more/followed up more with tables though as workers were focused on things on register/by the bar: maybe a training or update. The food was really good and flavorful too. The nachos were spot on and always love to see the queso and toppings layered on and not skimpy... didn't have alot of wasted chips but any that were lacking I added or dipped into the salsa which was phenomenal (I really loved the taste and texture) could fill up on it alone. The tacos were a hit with everyone in our group; priced around $4 each you can probably get 3 to fill up and have some fun with the different offerings. I would definitely recommend this place!

Empanadas

Place is alright. Nice spot Dt but food was just okay. By far the empanadas were my favorite.

The food just wasn't the best. The drinks were alright tho. The tacos just aren't good. The service is fine and the ambiance is nice. But the food just isn't the best... the tortilla was raw and needed to be grilled. But the server was very nice !

Pickle Gimlet

I've been here a couple times now. The tacos are fantastic, a modern American twist of flavors. My favorite was the Nashville hot chicken taco. Their cocktails are also fantastic. You can go unique and get a pickle gimlet or stick with the classic margarita. Either way you won't be disappointed!

Food was Mexican out of a box at best. Azulejo and El Rodeo are real Mexican places that serve drinks near St Joseph

Wish i had taken pics of the inviting, casual atmosphere inside and outside. Noted a very friendly setup for kids, and many families enjoying the outdoor games. Our server, Lily, could not have been better. Friendly, helpful, efficient, kind. We thought it was just us (kidding) but she was the same at every table she served, even though she was super busy! Kudos to Lily! One of the best! We had the kitchen split an Asian Crunch Salad as a starter. Fresh and crunchy! Hubby got the Burnt Ends Melt on Detroit Sourdough toast with the house made chips. He loved it and said he'd order it again! I had the Olive Burger and had them put it on their toasted sweet potato jalapeño bun. A Michigan staple, we do not have olive burgers in our state. If you've had an olive burger before, and liked it (as I do whenever we go north) you haven't tried ANYTHING yet! THIS BURGER WAS AMAZING! The burger itself high quality beef and perfectly grilled medium as I requested. Fresh leaf lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, sliced olives, and their delicious homemade olive aioli. Mine with waffle fries which were so generous, I had to give 3/4 of them to my husband (who gladly obliged)! Try the pickle bloody mary, if you're so inclined. Yum! Def will return! If you go, ask for Lily and tell her we sent you! ; )

Located in downtown Saint Joseph, this spot has something for everyone. We don't drink alcohol much and they had a great non-alcoholic selection to choose from, though my favorite was their house root beer! Our favorite food we ordered was by far the Bavarian pretzel. Warm and served with a hatch chile queso, this is the perfect appetizer or snack to share on a crisp fall day (honestly we wish we ordered another!). We also go the blazin peach burger which was a unique flavor with a sweetness from the peach salsa and heat from the pepper sauce! Fun ambiance that is appropriate for families, couples, or a group of friends! Service was great, will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Yummy beer. Yummy food…read more But because the kitchen is also cooking for the brewery across the street, the wait times are ridiculous. About an hour and a half for an appetizer of wings - and that's all we ordered! That should not happen. It's unfortunate for those looking for a nice dinner. Maybe the brewery menu needs to be condensed to packaged snacks and offer their patrons to cross the street to order a "to-go" order. On a high note, Tyler was a great friendly bartender :)

He got a double smash burger, no veggies, sauce on the side and that came with fries. My sandwich, the Billy bird, also came with fries. The Billy Bird sandwich has turkey, tacos, American cheese, and their burger sauce on sourdough bread. While this was our first time here, and we didn't get any drinks since we got takeout, we had been here when it was still North Shore Inn. They were owned by North Pier Brewing Company across the street, so this restaurant has changed a bit when it comes to the menu but the ownership has stayed the same and the beers they offer are made by their own brand. Their cocktail menu has updated as well and you can take home their beer in 4pk can form if you'd like. Food was fantastic and I will definitely be looking forward to dining in one day to get the full experience. The poutine, bbq pork rinds, and soft pretzel all sound fantastic on the appetizer menu so all of those are going to be reasons to keep going back. I'll also be interested in trying the pickled gimlet and the Great Lakes transfusion (both cocktails). We shall be back.

Being a wine drinker, I love having the option for a 6 or 9 ounce pour. The ambience was fab - just wish we could have listened ti the game. Watching on a big screen with music playing rather than the voices of the commentators isn't the same. So, we left to another bar so we could get the full effect of the Sunday football game. My husband found himself craving their friends and burgers recently, so I decided to take a chance and come back. The food, as always, is fantastic. We had never ordered an appetizer before so we ended up trying the cheese curds as an extra treat since it's been so long between our last visit and our most recent one. My husband got a double burger with American cheese and bacon, which is a pretty standard order for him. He did end up ordering a side of fries and a drink as well, but the name of the drink has escaped my brain. I got my usual BYOB (build your own burger) which is a bean patty, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, and honey mustard. The hostess who greeted us was very welcoming and led us upstairs to our table. Our waiter was also very friendly, chatted with us about Pokemon Go and was generally quick with our items. If I could change anything it would be having a little bit more time between our appetizer and our entree, but that wasn't a big deal considering my anxiety usually acts up to a point where I take most of my food home anyways (which I did end up doing). Overall a decent experience, if you come in to dine that is. I still don't trust them to do a proper over the phone order.
