King Wok completely exceeded my expectations. The sesame chicken was perfectly crisp with a rich, glossy sauce that actually had depth. The fried rice was flavorful and not greasy at all, which is surprisingly rare. Portions were generous but not sloppy. Even the takeout packaging was neat and well thought out. Years ago the lady at the front counter asked me why I even go there.. then proceeded to steal my money by writing in a 5$ tip for herself. A few days ago I called to see if they automatically included the crab ragoons on ordered 30$ or more.. she yelled at me on the phone. When I got there she charged me for the crab ragoons and when I went inside to get them because they didn't put them in my bag she yelled at me in Chinese. I'm never going there again. If you order from this place PICK UP don't get delivery. We ordered sweet & sour chicken at 5:10 for requested 6:30 delivery. Food arrived 6:55 with no sweet & sour sauce...called and asked for the sauce to be delivered. Called again at 7:30 and was told that the sauce is on its way but they are "very busy." Then the person on the phone asked me "do you want your food or not?" They made the error and then got crappy with me when I called them out on it. Sauce finally arrived at 7:45. We really like King Wok. Unfortunately the last time we ordered on 11/26, we placed our order at 1645. No time was given before being hung up on. Figured an hour, 1.5 goes by I finally call. I am told it will be 15 more minutes. Ok, no problem, at the 2 hour mark I call back. At this point they can tell me I can cancel or wait, it'll be 10 more minutes and they'll give me money off my next order. At this point I don't want to cancel because we planned on this and didn't have anything else ready so I'm like "fine". 30 minutes later our food arrived, the food itself is good so no big deal. Call tonight ad explain about money off and the guy on the phone tells me they took the money off my last meal...no ya didn't, checked my account. No return on my payment at all. I really am not one to write a review like this... bur, if I can help you make an informed decision this review was worth it. A friend and I were waiting for our takeout and were watching them make a large batch of battered chicken. An older gentleman took the chicken out of the wok and placed them into a colander to drain. After they cooked a bit we watched him poor them out onto a large cooling pan. We were amazed that he only spilled two on the floor. I joked that if it was me half of them would be on the floor. We were appalled that the man looked right at us, bent down, and picked the pieces off of the floor and put it back on the pile. I was shocked. Unfortunately I will never be able to eat there again. If they did that while people were watching; what are they doing when no one sees them? Just a food poisoning case waiting to happen. I will post back if my dog gets sick. read more

I usually don't get too hot and bothered about "negative" food service experiences but this is ridiculous. My fiance and I ordered our food at 4:50 and it didn't get here until 7:00. When it did get here, the bag was missing 2 of the things we ordered (we ordered 4 things total so half of our stuff was missing). So I called for the second time and informed them that we were missing things and I had to argue with a lady who couldn't speak English very well to get what we needed without paying more. In the end, I ended up paying an extra dollar for sauce that I had already paid for and the missing items didn't arrive until 8. The food is very good but the service is absolutely terrible, not to mention its a bit expensive. Do not go here expecting semi-decent service. read more

I should have consulted Yelp before eating here. I was in the area and it looked good so I stopped and ordered and egg roll and something else I can't really remember. It was all very standard chinese food and was served hot and in a fast manner. I decided to eat there and what I observed was appalling. After I was done eating I could see a worker mixing what looked like cut chicken in a grey tub that I usually see used for dirty dishes. He was doing this with the grey tub on the floor. I am sure there was health code violation in what I saw and after reading other comments I think this place should be shut down if they cannot follow basic food safety rules. Coming to King Wok is always delicious. During the day they have a pretty good buffet. They keep it stocked pretty full, so you'll hardly ever be wanting. When ordering take out at any given time, you should call ahead, guaranteeing your food will be done sooner than just walking in the shop and ordering. Someone please educate me - in California when we order chow mein it usually is in fried noodle form. When the delivery arrived and I questioned the restaurant about this congealed onion and cabbage porridge - I had a very angry Chinese lady tell me this is what chow mein is and it's MY fault because I didn't know. I cannot actually review their food. Tonight I ordered several items from their menu for delivery. After 30 minutes, I receive a phone call from an unrecognizable number, then from the restaurant 5 minutes following that. Apparently the order taker isn't as fluent or able to recognize English as should be and instead of delivering to my address, it was sent to an address that rhymes. On that call, the gentleman assured me, after working out the address details yet again (and, for some reason, needing a different credit card) that the delivery would arrive in "10 minutes". 30 minutes later, I call the restaurant for an update, now becoming irritated. A different "gentleman", obvious to me to be LESS fluent in English, again assured me it would again arrive in 10 MINUTES. I begin to sense a trend (a.k.a. lip service) but agree and, this time, set a timer. Roughly one minute before the timer is set to go off, the latter gentleman calls me again. To paraphrase; would you mind coming to pick up your order? we will give you free food and a discout. To paraphrase my response; are you kidding? if I wanted a carry-out, would I ask for delivery (I am, at times, home-bound). I ask him how he can carry out a business as such, warn that if any charges occur on either card that legal action will occur, and thus terminates any relationship I will have with this dump. Go ahead, give 'em a try. But if you hear "10 minutes", you might as well cancel right then and there, because they've got a clock that doesn't work as do all other clocks in our world. read more

The service here always sucks. I placed an order online and when I got back from picking up my order, they didn't give me a single item I originally ordered. The insanely rude lady told me this is what I ordered so this is what I got. she then told me I was wrong and that it wasn't their mistake. King Wok has been a go to a few time for Chinese delivery. Today (yes its during the COVID-19 crisis) we went online and read the banner at the top that read "we have closed our buffet but continue operating delivery and take out." GREAT (we thought) we placed our order online, submitted payment and then received confirmation that our order was placed and payment processed. After waiting an hour, I thought to myself "I bet they are really busy, I will give them more time before I call." Then at the 90 min mark I called and the phone would either be busy or just ring. No message. No answer. Nothing. At this point I was getting hangry so I said screw it im driving there. And low and behold when I arrive, they are CLOSED! With a handwritten note saying "check our website for updates." I DID CHECK YOUR SITE AND IT SAID YOU WERE STILL DELIVERING. So, not only did we wait 2 hours and still not get food, making me even hangrier, but they took our money and gave us NOTHING!!!!! I will never give them business again. read more

The owner was sitting at the table with a large container of filling for the crab Rangoon, and just filling them out in the open. She was coughing all over the stuff, scratching her head with the knife used for spreading. One of the workers was sweeping the floor around her kicking up dust. The kitchen workers were all wiping their noses while cooking. How do they pass health code is beyond me. For your own health, eat somewhere else. We place an order each week at work. The last two weeks our orders were in correct. Week one we were charged for food that didn't arrive. Week two we had two wrong orders. When we called to let them know if the mistake the person on the phone become very aggressive and repeatedly stated we ordered wrong. We spend $60 a week there. This review is not about their food. This place is run by extremely dishonest people. Please read and spread the word On November 7, 2014 I stopped by for takeout around mid-afternoon. I got distracted and left my purse behind. I realized this omission a couple of hours later. I called in, and stopped by the restaurant to find my left-behind purse. The attendant dismissed me, saying they didn't see anything and that they did not have any purse. Both employees were a tad rude, and I did observe a strange behavior though... they would not make eye contact, or even ask the color of the missing item... I was so distraught, thinking of all the actions to take... all my cards could be canceled, but I had really important and irreplaceable items/documents in my purse... I came back home - really upset, and my husband hinted something from my version of the facts. He immediately took off (God bless his heart!!), to confront the attendant. They, off course, ignored him as well. He then decided to break the rules and promptly rushed behind the restaurant counter, only to find my purse, hidden in it. The attendant just gave him a stare while he was saying "THAT is my wife's purse and I am taking it!!!" All the purse contents were there. Nothing was missing. I think that they did not have enough time to go through my things. Thank God!!! Still, all my cards and bank accounts are blocked as of right now. The dishonesty of these people really floors me!!! They obviously were concealing my property to make disuse of it. (What else?). This, in my dictionary is classified as criminal activity.
