I love this store, it is walkable but when I was in the check out line during the school rush yesterday, they only had one side of the self checkout open and only 2 lanes. when the line got long, they did not call more cashiers, its like they are under serving this location for some reason. It was about 8 Pm. The check stand was open with nobody there. I waited. Then went to the self check and asked and the attendant at self check was very rude saying "he'll be there' in a rude way. The store is run down and nasty. I had a big order and spent 10 minutes checking myself out, which would have taken a checker who knows where to find all the tags 3 minutes. Why should I pay ridiculous prices and do all the work? Ridiculous! I'll never be back. read more

They're open til 11 but they close the bathrooms to customers at 8 PM. Very frustrating.

Multiple times I've called King Soopers corporate multiple times. They told me that their employees are not supposed to ask for receipts, but all states that they are not supposed to ask for receipts once the transaction is finalized because at that point I technically own the items so they're asking me for a receipt on items I own I am about done with King Soopers. I am going to call and complain one more time and if it doesn't stop, I'll go somewhere else. read more

Being an old store, I was surprised to see big interior with lots of updates. Yes, the front is definitely 70s but who cares when they have things you need. I also love the sign at the front that clearly states no dogs allowed except dogs that actually do something for disabled people. If you feel you must bring your furry dogs into the grocery store, you are not welcomed here. Leave your dogs at home, dont want my food contaminated with hair or dandruff. read more

This place is a joke for customer service. Waiting over 20 minutes to cash in a cash voucher because they have one person over here with a line of 5 people waiting. I guess the 5 employees just standing around the registers laughing and joking don't need to do their job. I should be able to take it to any register but all the cashiers refuse to help. Horrible customer service from "Jay" on 6/18 I had to approach her to purchase cosmetics as it is all locked up. She literally looked at me like what do you want?! Instead of just doing her job as it is CUSTOMER SERVICE and simply saying, "Hi, how are you, how can I help you?", she stares stoned face waiting for you to say, "Hi, I need to purchase cosmetics, how do I do that?" She then looked to her coworker and said I can't leave he has to go do it because I can't leave this area. Not ever even directly looking or speaking to me. I wait to show the male coworker what I want but instead of walking with me to retrieve the lipgloss, he takes the time to walk over to another checker to chat with them. At first I thought he was needing assistance from them but as I watched and waited, it was just more gossip and laughing between the two. I wasn't going to just wait around for someone to chat it up so I decided to finish my shopping, skip the cosmetics and check out. He may have noticed because he caught up with me and said, "Did you still wanna get something from cosmetics?" I decided to get it at that point and led him to where it was locked up. He retrieved it and then said, "I have to take it up to check out I can't give it to you to check out yourself" so I laughed and said, "That's fine. Bring it to you scan, I'll check out there." Once I was ready to check out, I went back to you scan to find Jay gossiping and putting on a show for the security guard - talking so loudly about how, "so and so didn't start acting like this and that until she said something about her last name" while mimicking the way this person she was talking about walked. I had to wait for her show to end to then get her to notice that I was standing there, needing assistance. I had to say, "HI I NEED THE LIPGLOSS YOUR COWORKER GOT FROM COSMETICS TO PURCHASE?" She doesn't hand it to me or move away from her hang out spot with security - just said "oh it's right there" and pointed to the clerk station for me to retrieve it myself. A male coworker with a kings name tag jumped in front of me and grabbed the item before I could. He then walked over to my you scan and scanned it, AS IF I wasn't going to scan it and just put it into my bag in front of multiple employees?!? Like what?!? Big LOL I checked out, paid and as I'm leaving, Jay is still blabbing to the security guard. I looked both of them in the eye while rolling my cart by to exit. The security guard said, "Thank you, have a great night," I'm sure you can probably guess, she and the other coworker with king Soopers name tags said nothing. I don't even think the security guard is paid by Kings but he has enough common decency to be polite and courteous to customers. That's saying and showing something!! Kings do better!!! Do y'all even interview anymore?!? Do you care who portrays your business? Maybe check amongst your employees, send in a secret shopper or just do something to figure out which ones are working and which are just getting paid to chat and hang out on the clock. Will not come back here and don't advise anyone else to do so. They don't trust you to get your own cosmetics let alone scan them at the you scan. I'm surprised they didn't check my receipt on the way out! That's probably next. Will find a different grocery chain to shop from now on. read more

If this survey would let me score negative stars - I'd give this pharmacy a negative 5 stars. Every time - every single time I come to this pharmacy there is an issue that is never their fault. First off, let me start by saying from the moment I show up to the counter the service is tended with ill-ease and I feel like I'm standing in line to get injected with negativity. Dirty looks galore, sarcastic tones and judgmental attitudes swarm the atmosphere here. I don't even like to show up smiling anymore, because I feel like an idiot wasting my time on trying to be courteous to the people who should be expressing customer service. I'm pretty sure I've been more than friendly with them since the first time I've been there. But every employee I deal with is beyond rude. I don't even know how they still have their jobs. My last visit with them, they were supposed to fill my fiance's albutoral nebs for his asthma. Which is kind of a big deal, but I guess not according to their standards. We'd just gotten out of the hospital because he'd had been through a pretty traumatic asthma attack. I took in the prescription and they told me it would be ready in 25 minutes. I showed up 30 min later. When I got there, the script had not been filled. They told me that it they did not have enough to fill the script. (It's a pre packed box, I was highly confused.) By that time they were closing, so were other King Soopers Pharmacies and my fiance needed his medication! I asked them why they didn't catch this? I could've found a different pharmacy. They told me, "Sorry, people make mistakes." I found a 24 hour Walgreens in Highlands Ranch. Had to drive out of my way to ensure my fiance got his very crucial medication. I'll be going to the Wallgreens pharmacy from now on. They were very sympathetic, quick and friendly. Totally not like the scum that works at the Engewood Parkway King Sooper's Pharmacy. Denver's definitions of "shady" are hilarious. It's a grocery store. It's reasonably stocked. It's frequented by people of a wide range of income levels and transportation modes, as well as the occasional pre- or post- Gothic crowd. It has a Starbucks in it now, and the folks at the customer service desk are reasonably cheerful and competent at requests ranging from buying event tickets to exchanging propane containers to wiring money to Mexico (that last one wasn't me, but the lady asking questions seemed content with the answer). Honestly, the only thing that creeps me out about this place is the security presence, but maybe that's just because I haven't lived in Colorado long enough to be used to guys rolling up in golf carts packing heat in the parking lot. This King Soopers used to be Creepy with a capital C. We used to stop in here when we'd go to a show at the Gothic and have to head back to Boulder after. And the folks that are "shopping" there later at night...wow. No wonder this location isn't open 24 hours/day. They've now remodeled and it's much nicer; cleaner. That said, it still gets some real creepy folk in here. The best time to go is on a Saturday or Sunday first thing. More soccer moms, less shady folk. It's also the best time to get fresh produce. They don't seem to restock throughout the day. Additionally they seem to stock less of everything at this location. It's for this reason I prefer the location at Colorado Blvd in University Hills as it's only a ten minute drive up Evans. However, this location is A-OK and it's right near my house, so I do stop in often. read more

This is not my main King Soopers, but I do occasionally come here. It's close to my work and they almost always have coupons on the back of the receipts for 99 cent coffee at the Dunkin a few blocks north on Broadway. It's clean and usually well-stocked, but it also just feels a little older and more cramped than others in the area. They don't have a bulk food section, a cheese bar, peanut and almond butter grinders, or a sushi and sandwich area like my beloved University Hills King Soopers does. A remodel and update of a few departments could do wonders for this location. read more

I came here on a busy afternoon. I was so that person that wasn't paying attention and got unto a checkout line who no longer had their light on. When I realized it, I apologized and went to switch to an open lane. The cashier, Sadie (I think that was her name), said she could take me and actually encouraged a couple other patrons to get in her line since it was so busy. This is the closest location to my new home. I prefer the University at Hampden store, the staff members and clientele are more friendly than this location. Oddly, there was an announcement over the loud speaker today regarding feedback about your interaction with staff members. The two staff members I passed both noticed that I was looking at the aisle signs but chose to turn away when I approached them. The Manager was so helpful during the week of Thanksgiving, I couldn't find any turkeys, and he went and got the Meat Manager and he was so courteous and showed me that they had ordered plenty of the turkey's on sale. The Manager offered a few good coupons and noted, they would have turkeys for Christmas. Although the store is very small, compared to the Marketplace ones' on Colorado Boulevard and Leetsdale, they still demonstrate that they go the extra mile, even the Security guards are nice. I hope in the future that they build a larger Marketplace, King Soopers for customers' and their excellent employees. read more

Wow, I have a VERY different experience than others, apparently. I shop there a lot because it's so close, but I always find everything to be well-stocked, fresh and clean. And now, I can share my experience with a problem that occurred. Amanda, the Asssistant Manager handled the issue by going above and beyond. My checkout clerk sneezed repeatedly on her hands, and without sanitizing them, she touched every single item I purchased, plus the bags. She said she'd been sneezing all day. Not wanting to get sick, I handled the bags with gloves. But decided there was no way to sanitize my organic produce, and everything had highly contagious spores on it. I do not want to get sick, so I called the store. Amanda reshopped everything on my list, and had it delivered to my door! She was fantastic. read more

This store is special full of special people and their corporate office is no better. I came in shopping last Tuesday. I came on my pedal bicycle and was constantly in and out of the store to check on it. I get to self check out where there is an issue and help is On the way. Well, no help was on the way, then when I called the cashier out she started to tell other customers that I was crazy. Funny part is: I called corporate and talked to them like she talked to me, and they hung up. Fact: your employer verbally assaulted me, your corporate office accepts this culture. You gotta give it to the store management for keeping this place stocked and clean. It's far from one of the nicer Kings' in the Denver area, but it has all of the essentials. No, you won't find an artisan cheese area or olive bar. You won't find an extensive bread selection with a bread slicer (that would be nice though)! The deli could be better at anticipating dinner rushes. I've been there a few times after work craving some chicken tenders, but each time, were sold out. My 3 star rating is due to this Kings Sooper's location. I use it for last minute items, but do my weekly grocery shopping at Sprouts or the King Sooper's on S Broadway in Littleton. The Englewood location doesn't offer some of the premium items such as an olive bar and Boars Head deli meats and cheeses. The bakery and produce don't seem to have a large variety of items also. read more

Occasionally I experience good customer service from the employees. However the produce is generally not fresh, and the selection of food seems to be much more limited than other stores. Often the items are soon to expiration (do the other stores send their reject items here?). The selection and food quality for the same price is simply not comparable to other stories. It's also dirty, and for lack of better words "trashy". This is becoming a nicer part of town and it's time for King Soopers to do a major face lift to this location. Wish I could leave 0 stars because I am beyond upset and disappointed. I came into this locations pharmacy around 4:15 pm. This is right after I left the ER with my dad and needed to get prescriptions for him. After waiting in like for nearly 20 minutes because I was cut in line by another lady I was finally offered assistance. I give her the prescriptions for my dad and his med card for her to tell me they close in 20 minutes and cannot fill my dad's prescriptions. Because I've never picked up prescriptions before I asked her to explain. She said there was other people she needed to help and I wouldn't be able to pick up my prescriptions until the morning if I filled them there. This really frustrated me because it seemed lazy. After leaving with absolutely no help I went to another location off of broadway and Littleton Blvd. got there at 4:50pm and still had 2 people ahead of me but despite closing at 5 they were incredibly kind and offered to fill them for me if I could just wait about 10 minutes! I felt horrible for keeping them working after their close time but they were so generous. 5 Stars to Kings on Littleton Blvd and Broadway! read more

What has happened to the store on Englewood Parkway? Very dirty, all half dozen egg boxes had broken eggs, I bought one that only had one broken but paid the regular price. No #13 hearing aid batteries, Kroeger brand. The pharmacy has changed and not for the better. No carts available for the disabled. It is a disgrace to Kroeger and I guess you are planning to close it?? This has happened since you went to the check out your own groceries program. You need people to take care of the store. I went to King Soopers to cash a money order that was made in King Soopers. For whatever reason they keep denying the transaction and no one can tell me why. Well since this happened, I don't care to shop at king sooper or use western union. I called the Kroger Customer Relations Center just to be re-directed to an automated system. The cashiers are always nice and courteous, but the girl in the parking lot golf cart is horrible. I had just spent 100.00 inside, put the groceries in my car, started walking towards Spicy Basil to get a to go order I had called in and she told me she was going to tow my car if I didn't move it. I understand they don't want concert goers parking there and taking the spots from the real customers like me, but this was ridiculous. I refused to move my car, took 3 minutes to walk and get my food. She was trying to trap my car in with the golf cart, said she was calling the cops on me, but I'm still laughing because I could just pull through. The pharmacy has terrible service. The technician names Toni was so rude and irritating when asking about my insurance. I don't have a card with me cuz they are on the way delivering to me. I tried to ask her to run my insurance by other info without the card but we ended up having an argument before she took my insurance card number. The pharmacist when giving me consultation was also in bad mood. She raised her voice when I double check the usage of the medicine. Never have my doctor send the prescription over again. This store is deplorable i will never spend a dime here again. I am an essential employee that works on the broadband system to keep wifi and internet working. I also recently had my gallbladder removed and sometimes emergency number 2's come up still. The manager on duty would not let me me use the bathroom. I did not make to the next before I lost control. I have never been so embarrassed, I hope he can sleep at night. This store is terrible and inconsiderate! I've been shopping here since I was a kid, so I guess I wasn't really doing the shopping... This place has got to be staffed by the friendliest group of people in Englewood. Everyone who works there is genuinely helpful and they have a good selection of Natural foods. When my son was really little, they even got in the Lactose Free milk in gallon jugs, JUST FOR ME! I grab a few greek yogurts, blackberries, Justin's almond butter packs (for $1, such a good price for the convenience) and sometimes, because I have 0 self control, I'll grab a couple jars of Justin's too to take home.
