This is a terrible Safeway. Run down. Poor produce. And to top it off, the gas station associated with is even worse. They don't open until 7am and if you aren't sure, just ask the clerk. He'll hold up seven fingers -- including both middle fingers. I went there today for both gas and to clean my windshield, which had a bird turd the size of Manhattan right in the center. I've attached a lovely image of it. And guess what? That's right! No water or soap in any of the six containers. I checked them all! Two clerks sat on their behinds inside as I gesticulated my dissatisfaction. To no avail. Couldn't be troubled. How much do these attendants actually have to do during the day? Next to nothing! I recommend not only avoiding this place, but if you do visit, leave some bird turds on their doorstep. Can't believe I actually had to give them one star in order to post this review. Safeway/Ralph's chain used to be my go to supermarket for everything. So after moving to englewood I went straight to this local Safeway. I've honestly never had a worse experience at a supermarket. Prices were so blatantly mislabeled. The shopper I front of me at the cashier also was confused about some items he purchased. In my case. They had the incorrect asparagus sign stating less than 2/lb. At the register they tried to charge 6/lb. I called them out and said they were blatantly mislabeled. They said they had already asked someone to remove the sign. It's not that hard to remove a sign and it seemed to me like it was placed there maliciously. I didn't buy the asparagus and went to Walmart down the street. I typically don't like Walmart but I'm the area the Walmart was so nice and produce was so fresh compared to this Safeway. read more

I'm done shopping here. I live nearby, so Safeway was my go-to grocery store for a while. However, there are rarely shopping carts or baskets because I guess the local homeless population took most of them. The store is understaffed, with 10 minute lines for self-checkout not being uncommon. The produce is underwhelming and lacking in freshness. I've had to check expiration dates consistently due to buying expired items several times. People bring their non-service dogs inside, which is really unhygienic, and staff don't seem to notice or care. If you live in the area, I highly recommend you travel a few blocks over and visit King Soopers instead. That's what I'll be doing. read more

Your employees customer service and how they speak to potential customers. I say potential because I went in to your store to buy a few things, but I needed to use the restroom first. I approached a lady that was working the self check out lane, with a German accent and said "ma'am I'm gonna buy a couple bags of ice and a few other things, but I have to go to the bathroom, may I use the bathroom and where are they located". Her response to me was , both of our bathrooms are out of order, in the most rude and disrespectful tone. I said to her are they truly out of order or do you not want me to use them? She didn't answer me! So, if the restrooms are out of order, and the employees don't have anywhere to use the restrooms, wouldn't that be a health hazard and the business be closed until they fix the restrooms? Or if she just didn't want me to use them, and deemed me homeless and someone on drugs that's gonna OD in the bathroom( which I dressed nice, had money to spend, and I even drove my paid off vehicle there) then she needs a reality check. As far as I know the pandemic is OVER, and every other store is allowing PAYING customers to use the bathroom. I'm so so tired of getting told I can't use the bathroom!! I thought it's law that, if you purchase something from the business, they can't refuse you using the bathroom! Well I'm gonna call the board of health on Monday and let them know the bathrooms are out of order per a Safeway employee and that's a health concern they need to look into!! Needless to say I bought nothing, nada, zero, zilch from this Safeway and will never walk into one again, because I went to king Soopers and got the complete opposite experience! They have lost my credit card information 8 times in a row and have never fulfilled my single prescription on time once. They mailed it late again this month and it arrived with the safety seal broken, no envelope, and a brown mucus like substance all over the package. I once again do not have any medicine due to this Safeway. This is completely unacceptable because this is an essential service that I cannot move elsewhere. I went to go get some more things that required a shopping cart and a hand basket just wouldn't do the job. First I get there before 7pm and go to one of the entrances and it's locked on their sign it said their doors to that entrance would close after 7pm. As I go to the other doors I don't see any carts, I walk to the other entrance and see no carts either. So I ask one of the cashiers Kelly if they had any. She said she can call for some to be brought in, I said okay. Then I hear someone ask her what she said from around the corner that was sitting down with her leg propped up and asks again what did he say? If she was that concerned and wanting to find out she should have gotten up and taken care of it. She then proceeds to say that the person who gets the carts is on break and she can't have them do their job when their on break. I then reply. Wow this is some fucking great customer service sarcastically and she then says OK while still sitting down. I asked her for her name she then said she didn't have to give me her name and not wearing a name tag I asked for the manager she said she is the manager then I asked her for her managers information. She then proceeded to say she wasn't going to give me any of that information. I then went over to the cashier, running self check out Nancy and asked her for the managers name. She then looked over to the nameless manager and says she couldn't give me that information so then I walked over to Kelly and asked her for the managers information. She also denied me, the managers name. The nameless Manager said since I was cussing at her she didn't need nor want my service and can deny me service and she will call the cops and have me escorted instead of offering a solution to the issue (possibly her or another employee going to get some). I then told her I wasn't cussing at her that I was upset about the whole situation and I had the right to be upset since there was, so many inconveniences as a customer wanting to shop here. As I was getting ready to walk out, I see another employee walking in Todd and ask him for the managers name and he also denied me that information. Nancy. So rude. Asked a simple question very nicely and was treated poorly for no good reason. I don't need to be treated like royalty but that was ridiculous. Smaller note, many holes were faced over so a lot of tags had the wrong description on them. I get it that a lot of things are out of stock these days and it looks better not to have so many holes. But then of course whoever is shooting orders misses those items. So when they come back into stock at the distributor, you're not getting them for your customers. read more

I have been shopping at this Safeway for 30 yrs and have seen many changes - from switching from 24-7 to 6-10 and adding gas and self-checkout. Through it all it is the staff that keep me coming back. Helpful and polite. The Pharmacy is top for our neighborhood. In a word, friendly. read more

This is my least favorite Safeway location but it's on my way home from work so I find myself returning every couple months to the same disappointment. Selection is poor because shelves are empty. Produce that is available is embarrassing next to their freshness signs. I am a very no frills grocery shopper. I like what I like and that is about all I ever buy. This safeway, while not being as nice as others has exactly what I need. Its boasts a satisfying produce section, decent selection in their organic/health food section, and they have a Starbucks when I am in a pinch. They usually don't have enough lanes open but I am just fine catching up on my gossip magazines while I wait. Mostly I shop this Safeway because it is on my way home from work and it is usually empty so I can shop in peace. It is exactly what I need when I know exactly what I am going to buy. read more

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars because they do not have a huge selection and they do not have enough staff which is normal for alot of Safeway's I guess. This is probably the worst Safeway that I've been to in the area. There isn't a self check out option so you're stuck waiting in line to have a cashier check you out. This would be OK if they had enough cashiers to keep things moving but they always seem to be short staffed with extra chatty cashiers that aren't always the nicest to the customers, this is especially true in the evening. The produce I've purchased here seems to go bad much more quickly than at other grocery stores and some times I've cut into things that were already rotten in the middle. I actually work for a differant safeway, but use this one to do my shopping, and in all honesty I have never experienced such horrific, rude and unfriendly service as I have here. And unfortunatly tonight, I have had the last straw. My husband ran over there just 30 minuets ago to pick up some soda and ran into the most senile cashier Ive ever heard of. In an attempt to, as my best guess would be, rush him out, she told him that she didnt have time to wait on him all night when he was still entering our card number. The manager swatted him away from the customer service desk when he went to bring it to her attention. To top it all off, more than once have I had to yell at an employee for running into my baby stroller with a cart, and just the other day I was subjected to listen to two starbucks employees bickering over a display. Horrible! Will NEVER be back...last straw here! In on Sat and only 1 super dirty (no surprise) cart avaible, so decided to used a basket and come back when more availble. Went back to check once my basket full, went near shopping carts and this nerdy guy w/glasses asks me if I'm going to pay for products? Jaw dropped. Told him was looking for shopping cart (none there, just empty wall) and told him I shop with you guys all the time and pretty sure that's illegal to say unless walk out front door. He kept arguing with me saying it's okay for him to say that to me. He literally stood in front of me in an aggressive manor at front door. Almost blocking me. So I went to manager, told him story and he says they ask people if they're stealing all the time if they bring full basket to shopping cart area? What?! This is how you treat loyal customers? You make it our problem that you can't keep carts full and then excuse us of stealing?! So no sorry, the nerdy guy was standing there (very unprofessional), staring at me with his arms crossed... as the manager just stood there justifying this unfair treatment. I have never felt so unwelcome or poorly treated as customer! I left my basket there and said I'm done shopping with you all. I went to the much nicer king soopers down the street and spent my $75 there. I've spent thousands of dollars at your store and I'm done when you not only treat your honest customers horribly, but then harass them on top of that! I work in the grocery industry myself in upper management and have never witnessed such bs! You need to figure out how to treat your loyal customers. And yea it is totally illegal to excuse someone of stealing unless they gave walked out your front door with product. If they're standing by your cart section with a full basket, they decided they needed a cart. Use some discretion and train your employees not to argue with honest customers! This was just one, of many horrible experiences at your store. I will never be back! read more
