I usually stop by on my to work to get the single chicken breast meal from the deli. Such a great deal. I am however very dissatisfied with the sides. The items in the hot and cold cases often look like they've been sitting out far too long--dry, crusted over, and generally unappetizing. What should be fresh and inviting instead looks tired and neglected, which makes it hard to justify buying anything from that section. A little more attention to rotation, presentation, and overall upkeep would go a long way. Thank you. read more

The cashier helped the man before me. They had a lovely conversation while She looked me up and down. there was absolutely no one behind me, but as soon as it was my turn, she walked away. I don't know if it's ageism racism, whatever ism- But it is still discrimination of some kind. I was in the line because I needed help, I have damaged my hand with a big fall two days ago. For her to look me up and down like that, and decide she wasn't gonna help me pack my groceries was not cool. I remember when they would not only bag your groceries for you.(And you didn't have to pay for the bags) and they would take your bags out to the car for you and unload the bags for you. This store kind of sucks. The manager is awesome and so is Karen a cashier there. However, their older woman head clerk is down right rude and nasty. Accused my friend and I of not having an exchange on the Eldorado water. Walked away from us instead of helping us. Unsure how to do a water exchange and so was the courtesy clerk working at self checkout. At that point she was being rocky and snotty with us. I finally got the courtesy clerk to enter the code 9022. I went and spoke to the manager about the head clerk being so bad. Head clerk is in trouble for her bad behavior. This has been going on for to spot for groceries since moving to the area. It's so convenient to where I live and I can be there in minutes. Store is always clean and well stocked of merchandise. I have stopped in several mornings for the Starbucks and always super friendly. Plus I have also picked up donuts for my team as well and donuts in the morning are always fresh and a great selection. You are kind of forced to use self check out bcuz they rarely have enough other registers open. Staff is always great and attentive for approvals buying wine and beer. I have always had a great experience especially for a huge chain like this. After check out I have always been greeted and thanked. read more

This is my local grocery store. I live very close and it is convenient to come here. It is the best grocery store I have been to? No. Are the employees worth making the trip for? No. Is it especially nice looking? Not really. I think the 120th King Soopers or the one on 136th is better but I'm not going to drive that far. I am happy that this King Soopers has some more random food items that you might not find elsewhere. I think that is worth something. The managers are always nice here too when the other employees need help. I like to see service employees help each other when they need it. I'm sure some Yelpers will try to stay negative about a place unless it blows them away. With this grocery store, if you need groceries...go here. read more

I Like the Layout Usually, you have to run around every square inch of a grocery store to get everything you need. I found the layout at this store to be much more efficient. I like this King Soopers. It's in my neighborhood which makes it fast and easy. I can pop in and get whatever I need whether it be one item or a full cart. The produce is fresh and plentiful and the deli and hot foods counter are always ready to serve. The employees are friendly and always willing to help. One of the things this location is good for is being always fully stocked with merchandise when other locations will be sold out on certain things. Nine times out of ten I know I can find what I'm looking for when I come here. read more

Just moved to the area for work and King Soopers was the closest grocery store to my corporate apartment. I was happy to see it is a Kroger family store. In all fairness, I went on a Sunday evening during football season thus most of the shelves were pretty empty. The fresh produce in the refrigerated section was nearly empty. No cucumbers for my salad this week. I also thought it was odd the salad toppings weren't in the produce aisle hanging up above the bags of pre-cut salad mix. I don't know if they were rearranging the aisles but the layout of the store didn't make sense to me. The aisles closest to the produce were the sundry items. Milk and eggs were on the opposite side of the store. I wasn't able to find the distilled water I needed. Moat of the bottle water and beverage section was emptied. read more

Deli department went downhill. I ordered 24 pieces of fried chicken, 24 hours in advance, for a family get together. The chicken was cooked hours ahead of time then microwaved to warm it up for the pickup time. The skin was soggy, the chicken wasn't hot. Obviously NOT cooked fresh for the order like it is supposed to be. In the past we always got fresh fried chicken for our orders but this was not freshly cooked. Why do they make you order 24 hours in advance just to serve you old re-heated chicken. If I was going to order chicken for a graduation or other event, I would definitely go somewhere else! Very disappointed in the bad quality. Management needs to overhaul the deli department. read more

My first visit will be my last. Dishonest pricing in my view. Things that are on sale are only valid if you have a discount card. That should be more clearly marked. Also, beware, the $.99 hallmark greeting cards ring up as $2.00. And don't get in the line with the cashier that I had. She acts like she just smoked a Doobie before working. Rang up my one case of Aquafina bottled water twice. When I called it to her attention she had already started ringing up the next customer. She said, "you'll just have to wait!" I like this King Soopers. They have many more items and variety that I need for my fortnightly grocery needs. Arent sure if this store is brand new to the neighborhood or something but all for sure, this King Soopers was kept clean at all times. Most of the items are fully stocked, unless its the end of the evening if you intend to get your grocery items. Upon entering, especially on the left side of the building of this store, located the delis, cheese what nots. I can spend alot of time, whenever I go to this store, to go thru all the aisle by aisle, section by section. The staffs are always helpful and accommodating. The ladies washroom is always kept clean. All in all I like shopping here. Just take note, if you go to the King Soopers website, the location of this store is exactly where it is. But if you google it, the address of this store is entirely different. So just take note. For this instance, I trust the King Soopers website. read more

Friendly staff but their stock is not ideal. We wanted Turkey legs and they had none in stock, even after Thanksgiving. We quickly left to a much closer King Soopers on Sheridan Blvd and what do you know? We found them at a much cheaper price and fully stocked!! When do they get their trucks delivering their food? Most of the people are nice and it's a good store overall; however, they now have a problem overcharging people. King supers overcharged me on more than one occasion and they hope you don't notice and they just keep the extra cash. They used to have a policy of giving you the item for free if you caught them overcharging you. This gave them an incentive not to overcharge you. They no longer have that policy. Now they frequently overcharge and they hope you don't notice and they keep the extra money. When I caught them they gave me the difference back but they didn't correct the problem and kept overcharging everyone else who doesn't notice. I wonder how many times I've been over charged and didn't notice. When you have a long list of grocery items, it's hard to remember the price of everything and go through the receipt to double check everything. Now I'm an unhappy customer. Last year when they had the policy of giving you the item for free when you discovered they overcharged, at least I knew it was an honest mistake and left the store happy. A very nice King Soopers, usually not too crowded, and staffed with friendly people. I'll sometimes go a bit out of my way to hit this King Soopers rather than some of the more crowded locations in Boulder or Lafayette. I'll also second (with a laugh) the below reviewer's comment about the kids in the parking lot being little pains-in-the-neck, but hey, it's Broomfield, not many places for them to hang out, I suppose. Don't go to this store if you are disabled and expect ANY RESPECT FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK. I went in there a couple months ago needing to cash a check. The "girl" informed me that I wasn't at the end of the line (there wasn't anyone else in line!). So, I diligently got there, with a crutch; and she proceeded to "call" on me. I was appalled and came unglued. I told her, "Are you kidding me? This is the poorest excuse of customer service I've EVER seen. (Granted, her boss is right behind her!) She started saying something...I grabbed my check while saying "Don't even go there. Say NO more to me." and I proceeded to storm out. but that I don't care for KS anyway, tops the cake. This location is our go to grocery store, however, tonight we had very bad customer service. One of the cashiers, Nicole P, was very rude. She was being obnoxiously loud joking around, complaining to a co-worker that she didn't want to check out more people when we got in her line, was checking her phone, and then noticed we put a canned food item down near the front in a location it didn't come from and proceeded to rudely lecture us about how we shouldn't put it there and to bring it to the front. I've worked at a grocery store before, I get it can suck to have to round stuff up at the end of the night, but it's part of the job and you don't reprimand customers for it. If I did that at my job I would have been fired for it, it's just bad customer service and makes customers not want to come back to that store. read more

This store is along my commute, and gets a lot of my business even though I really should be spending my tax dollars at home in Lafayette. I often find myself picking up a few things on the way home, and I think I'm the mayor of the gas station on Foursquare, thanks to my long schlepp to the office in Englewood. I can find what I need here even if the layout is a lot funkier than the Lafayette store (and neither of them are as shiny as the big Boulder stores). King Soopers pick-up service wastes huge amounts of plastic bags. If you indicate you want to supply your own reusable bags, you become involved in a bait and switch. In other words, they say, GOOD! SUPPLY YOUR OWN BAGS. Then they assemble the order IN BRAND NEW PLASTIC BAGS. When you arrive with your own, they transfer the groceries into the bags you provide. AND THROW AWAY THE PLASTIC BAGS THEY USED TO ASSEMBLE THE ORDER. Even if they recycled them...that's something I can do AT HOME. What a sham. King Soopers is run by Krogers and Krogers does not give a rip about their obscene use of plastics. read more

I think this is a great grocery store - and in such a good location! Everyone is super friendly and the staff seem to support each other. I have never seen any bickering - at least in public. I think Joe is a great employee. He is usually at the self checkout and is very nice and extremely helpful. Once it was really busy and the regular checkout lines were long, so he checked me out at one of the self checkouts. He took everything out of my cart, scanned it, bagged it. He didnt have to do that, but he did because he is a kind person! read more

The staff, whomever it may be, has always been extremely friendly! King Soopers is the closest market to my house, so I enjoyed buying groceries there; however, I've been disappointed so many times. Never trust their expiration dates. I can't tell you the countless times I've purchased milk (almond milk or skim milk) and it goes bad well before the expiration date. This morning, I threw almond milk away because it was soured. The expiration date was mid-October. This was the second time I've thrown almond milk away well before the expiration date. I've also thrown out beets and spinach dip (several times) because they went bad before the date. When I purchase grapes there, I know I have only a couple of days before they go bad. I bought spinach dip last week and I when I opened it tonight, it was soured. That was the last straw. If you eat quickly, this is the place for you. It's rather difficult to spend money that I work hard for on food that won't last. read more

Because of its location this store has been the one I most frequent over the 120th & Sheridan location. Until recently I used to think it rivaled the larger store simply because it felt cozier with the employees having been friendly and down-to-earth. Lately, though, (and seemingly coinciding with the change in the chains marketing strategy and the end of double coupons) the vibe in this store has changed. I notice grumpier customers and very jaded employees. I usually make a quick stop in the mornings right after I drop the kids off to school. This morning's list was longer than I had planned and so required more bags in addition to the three that I brought in on my own. On my way to the register I noticed one clerk stocking the candy in the same area. I set my bags at the end of the conveyor, punched in my customer ID number and then began packing the groceries myself figuring that I'd lend a hand while I was waiting. When it came time to pay there was difficulty with my card being read, and I could see the others behind me getting antsy as this was the only register, aside from self-checkout, that was open. "I hate these stupid machines" said the cashier as we both stood for several minutes waiting for the computer to kick in. I went back to packing the groceries for several more minutes as the cashier continued to just stand there, waiting idly. Once the transaction was complete she promptly handed me my receipt and began scanning the next customer's purchase - - while a good quarter of my purchase still lay on the conveyor - unbagged. Scrambling to get them into plastic bags so they wouldn't be mixed in with the new purchase I asked, "Are there no baggers who can help me out with these?" "There never are." Came her oblivious reply. The next customer and I locked eyes and shrugged at how lacking this experience was. Meanwhile, the clerk stocking candy was still at it just as oblivious as her counterpart. The cashier did, however, ask her to return a perishable (that I no longer wanted) back to the refrigerated section. The control of power over that exchange was as apparent as how quickly Colorado weather changes. I chalked this up to just another of the recent bad experiences I've had with cashiers and baggers alike. From bread being smashed because of neglectful bagging to having to hunt down or (worse) interrupt employee conversations in the self-checkout area whenever I needed help I'm noticing a disappointing track record while shopping here. I decided to bring it all up to the store manager who, I hope, will nip the laziness and snarky remarks in the bud. Bringing in my own shopping bags is a courtesy, both to the environment and to the grocery chain itself so less of their plastic bags are used. But it, in no way, is an excuse for cashiers to be let off the hook from following through with the kind of professional customer service I, along with local friends, expect from a neighborhood store. read more

I like this location much better than most. They are set up in a way that makes it reasonably easily to find everything you need and most of the people there are pretty nice. My only complaint is that there are often teenagers hanging out in the parking lot acting like, well, teenagers. I'm sure some of them work there or are friends with people who do and sure everybody needs a place to hang but they need to stop acting like jerk offs. read more

I LOVE this King Soopers. I shop there so frequently I know most of the employees on a first name basis. Patsy, Toni, Chad, Kelly - they are all awesome!!! James goes above and beyond when I need help with my groceries. Kathy Stevens is also very nice. She has helped me on numerous occasions with coupons. This is the worst King Soopers in the area. The products are often damaged, especially the frozen which often has the bags/boxes cut from unpacking no doubt. Add to that the reason for this review - the RUDE staff. I've had problems in the past but today was enough to get me to write this review. A card envelope got wet and my wife noticed and went back to replace it. The RUDE cashier then said in a sarcastic tone "well that's what you get when you put paper near carrots." She repeated this rude "joke" a couple of times. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I can even admit we probably did get the envelope wet. Where is the customer service? There are much better King Soopers in the area (ie 120th/Sheridan). read more

I don't know why I even bother to shop at this store! It's only a few blocks from my house but I would rather go to another store. The produce is usually in bad shape (ie bruised or unripe) and the meat selection is very limited. They recently started a scan and bag as you go which is AWESOME! However on my 3rd and 4th try I couldn't get anything to scan. When I went up to the front where they explain how to use it the gentleman explaining it to another shopper completely ignored me. It would have been nice if he took a moment to ask what I needed. When I checked out and told the employee that the scanner wasn't working she said just press the Help button and someone would come to assist me. So, the next time I tried it the same thing happened. I pressed the Help buttoned and waited.......and waited.....and waited and then the following message came on the scanner "Employee (don't remember their name) has resolved the issue". Since no one showed up I figured they were able to take care of it remotely...........nope, still wouldn't work so I pressed Help again......and waited.....and waited. This time I walked to the front of the aisle to see if anyone was coming. There was an employee coming so I asked him if he was coming to help. Nope, but he took a look at the scanner and said the employee named wasn't even at work at that time and didn't know why his name came up. I could go on and on but suffice it to say these are just a small sampling of what you can expect. Yep, I will drive to the Kings at either Sheridan and 120th or Baseline and HWY 287 from now on. read more

Is anybody else out there annoyed by the endless number of petitioners, girl scouts, boy scouts, HS softball teams, HS football teams, ect. harassing you every time that you go to this King Soopers? What happened to teaching your child some work ethic and having them go door to door to make a sale. If you're concerned about their safety, get off you ass, turn off the Reality TV, and go with them. It will be an invaluable lesson in work ethic. Stop harassing people! read more

Really bad experience! I went today to this King Soopers and I felt discriminated against. I am Mexican, and I am getting a masters degree. I was at school today and went to this store to buy something because I have a really bad flu. I had to go back to my class, and decided to pay at one of the self-service machines because of time. Every item I scanned, the machine said "attendant has been notified to assist you" (I didn't do anything; I felt that the cashier who was controlling the machines did it on purpose). There were people in every machine, and it only happened to me. When I went to ask her for help, she irritated went to my machine and changed the language to Spanish. That was not what I asked her. Then, I tried to pay with three different credit cards that work perfectly, and she told me that they were not working, that she could not accept them. And then asked me "do you have something else you can pay with?" Fortunately, I had cash with me. I am writing this review because I think that it is not fair that discrimination and racism still exist in our society. Many people hate Hispanics, if you don't know us please don't judge us. We come here to work hard, and to contribute to the country. Sadly, many Hispanics have fewer opportunities than any other culture. Do you think they want to be doing the hard work and being paid the minimum wage (or sometimes less)? No, they just do it to have a better life and to give the best to their family. You don't know how hard it is their life. There are bad people, yes, just as any other culture, there are good and bad people. If you ask yourself where you come from, you will be surprised that you come from an immigrant family (it doesn't matter the generation). This country is made up of immigrants. If we want a better world, we have to respect each other regardless of our age, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin, language or accent. read more

This is BY FAR the worst king soopers I've ever been to. Not only was the manager Deena the most disrespectful human, the store manager was just just as bad. Deean was whispering talking negative about me (I don't know why) but she was calling me a liar. I went and BOUGHT claritin for my mom, threw the receipt in the trash, and walked outside. I realized my mom text me saying she had already bought it from walmart. I then went straight inside to return it, Deean said i had to have my receipt. I went to the line I was in and asked the women who remembered me just 5 minutes prior buying the item, and she said dont dig in the nasty trash, that she will give me a receipt. I brought that receipt to Deean and she told me NO THAT I HAD TO GO DIG IN THE TRASH AND FOND THE ORIGINAL! The women who rang me up even told her she saw me throw it away and personally rang up my items. I am 8 months pregnant, I have my super card I used as well as a reprinted receipt and the employees word. I will make sure to go completely out of my way to NEVER go there again.
