Parent and me swim classes are great so far. It's not a formal lesson but really intended to make the child comfortable with the water and understand some of the basic commands like kick, paddle, blow bubbles, hold your breath and duck. I really like that they have some benches and tables near the pool so I can actually sit and watch the swim lessons, rather than have to stand on the sidelines the whole time. Class is about 30mins long, and they encourage swimming with little toys like pails, rubber duckys, swim noodles and the little paddle boards. My son is having a blast. $37 for 10 Saturday sessions. Can't beat it. This place has two pools with the largest going from 5ft to as deep as12ft. The smaller pool is about 3rd all around. They have 2 diving boards. Although there are several classes or groups learning at the pool as the same time, the groups are well separated enough that the toddler group doesn't really get affected by the bigger kids activities. Small facility but bigger isn't necessary better for this class. The changing room areas have plenty of lockers, separate toilet and separate shower areas. Overall it's kept pretty clean, just need people to pick up after themselves for the most part. The changing rooms are locked, so you have to wait to be buzzed in, but there's typically someone always upfront. The staff are young, but very nice. Never get or seen any of the teenage rude attitudes. However, the lobby window to speak to someone is so low that you have to bend over to talk to the staff, who are also bending down. Parking is okay with some right up front and around the side by the park. The area is sketchy, so we try to park as close to the front as possible. And although the lobby area isn't the biggest, a couple of chairs or even a bench would be nice for people to sit on, while waiting for people to come out of the locker rooms.

My son has been coming to the King Pool since he was 4 and has grown up with some of the Instructors who then turn into Coaches during the LA 84 Foundation events. His Instructors are very attentive, encouraging and know the kids potential in the pool. I love every single one he's had! Not only do you get to know the Instructors you also get to know the parents that come session after session.

Monica is incredibly patient and intentional in the way she teaches. I could clearly see her introducing new skills step by step, making sure he understood, and encouraging him the entire time. What stood out most was how engaged he was. He was completely attentive, listening closely, and genuinely excited to try what she was teaching him. It is amazing to watch his confidence grow in the water, and I truly believe Monica deserves a lot of credit for that. She takes her time, communicates clearly, and creates an environment where kids feel safe and motivated to improve. If you are looking for a swim instructor who is skilled, patient, and truly invested in her students' progress, Monica is outstanding. We are so grateful for her!

Our daughter was initially extremely afraid and apprehensive getting used to her head under water. She cried bloody murder the entire first week. It was admittedly very difficult having to hear her scream the entire 15 minutes, but trust the process! Alex was so good with her and earned her trust. By the end of the second Monday, she got out of the water and exclaimed how much she loved swimming. I was shocked! Something just clicked. Not only did she get over her fear of having her head in the water, she loved it. She was able to roll, float on her back, and kick within the second week. She spent the third week refining skills and feeling more comfortable under water. We are so incredibly proud of the progress she's made in such a short amount of time. And while we feel so much better about the skills she's picked up, nothing can beat the confidence and resilience she's built along the way. Thanks, Teacher Alex!
