We had such a wonderful experience with Monica as my seven year old grandson's swim instructor. I just had to take a moment to recognize how exceptional she is. Monica is incredibly patient and intentional in the way she teaches. I could clearly see her introducing new skills step by step, making sure he understood, and encouraging him the entire time. What stood out most was how engaged he was. He was completely attentive, listening closely, and genuinely excited to try what she was teaching him. It is amazing to watch his confidence grow in the water, and I truly believe Monica deserves a lot of credit for that. She takes her time, communicates clearly, and creates an environment where kids feel safe and motivated to improve. We signed up our 4 1/2 year old for the 3 week bootcamp, and are amazed at our daughter's progress. Teacher Alex G was so incredibly patient, playful, and encouraging. Our daughter was initially extremely afraid and apprehensive getting used to her head under water. She cried bloody murder the entire first week. It was admittedly very difficult having to hear her scream the entire 15 minutes, but trust the process! Alex was so good with her and earned her trust. By the end of the second Monday, she got out of the water and exclaimed how much she loved swimming. I was shocked! Something just clicked. Not only did she get over her fear of having her head in the water, she loved it. She was able to roll, float on her back, and kick within the second week. She spent the third week refining skills and feeling more comfortable under water. We are so incredibly proud of the progress she's made in such a short amount of time. My 1.5 year old just finished up the fast track with Alex G and we have nothing but positive things to say. He did so well with our son, who would literally cry for the entire lesson for the first week and a half. He was patient with him during those days and really worked to gain his trust. He also found moments during those lessons to introduce and work on skills for his level. Once my son was comfortable with Alex and no longer crying he really took off and pushed him to learn more skills, which we really appreciated. Alex is great at breaking up the lesson with a few mins of play then right back to work. We loved that Alex was always present, positive, happy and very patient with our kiddo, and communicated well with my husband and I on his progress and goals. We highly recommend him and look forward to working with him in the future! We also really like that the school offers the fast track program, he went 5 days a week for 3 weeks. Since these were my son's first ever swim lessons we wanted consistency so he can grasp the skills quicker then going once a week. I'm so grateful for this swim school. We started with the parent tot classes and have continued through private lessons for years. All the teachers we have tried have been fantastic, but special shout outs to Mr. Briton, Mr. Ryan, Miss Kate, Miss Janelle, Miss Rosalie, Mr. Ivan, Mr. Daniel, Mr. David, Miss Leah, and Mr. Wyatt. Through the years, these teachers have met my kids where they were at socially, emotionally, and ability-wise. They truly care about each unique student, and will tailor the lessons to the learning style and needs. Although the skill advancement framework is the same for all, the way each student gets there and is taught will be personalized to each kiddo. One of the things I love is that you never lose a lesson, as long as you notify them that you will be absent by 8am the morning of the lesson. This allows you to experience different teachers, different teaching styles, and in time enhances the learning and progress of each student. I find it tricky to schedule a makeup using their app, but the staff can be quickly and easily contacted via text. They are always quick to respond, courteous, and very helpful in scheduling makeups. Also, September-November is All-You-Can-Swim! If your kiddo is enrolled in lessons once a week, the can sign up for an open lesson every day if available for free during this period. You might not get a lesson every day, but over the period it ends up being a great deal to rapidly get extra training. Over time, the teachers in the pool get to know you and your kiddos, even if they aren't in lessons with them. Thank you Watersafe team for making us feel like family! In terms of facilities, the staff always keeps the facility clean. There are ample changing rooms and bathrooms, long tables to change very young swimmers, a supply shop in case you forget anything (like that swim diaper), as well as a communal shower. Be prepared that your kids will want to buy one of the delicious popsicles they offer on the way out! There is a turf area to eat it with some shade outside! The parking at this location is easy! The pool is a tad smaller at this location, but is fine for those in SmartFish grades 1-7 in my opinion (for those unfamiliar with SmartFish, grade 1 is new to swimming and 6 and 7 are working on all 4 strokes) If you are looking at more advanced training, you may want to focus your attention at the Los Alamitos location. However, even those perfecting all 4 stroke skills will be fine at this location. The staff can be very helpful (shoutout to you, Heather!) when you are enrolled and trying to find lessons on different days and locations. read more

We have been coming to Water Safe since our son was 6 months old. Now at 4 years old we have a strong & confident swimmer. We see his skills improve with each lesson. Coach Wyatt has been with us since the beginning and he is a wonderful coach. Pushes just enough to bring out the progress we want to see but keeps it fun & engaging. We couldn't be happier with Watersafe Swim school and our 4 1/2 year old daughter's instructor, Alex G. He exhibited so much patience throughout and was very encouraging. We signed her up for the 5 days per week, 3 week session. She refused to cooperate and cried for most of that first week. But once the second week rolled around she really started to enjoy herself and caught on! Between the second and third weeks, she really seemed to gain a great deal of confidence and worked on refining her skills. We have been going to watersafe for at least the last year for our now 3 year old. We decided this summer to do a Fast Track session and had teacher Alex. He did a great job with our kiddo and she increased her swimming and pool safety skills! I would definitely recommend the program and watersafe. For the last 6+ months, our 5 year old had been taking weekly swim lessons at Watersafe and making steady progress. However, we just moved into a house with a pool and needed some accelerated learning. So we signed up for the Fast Track program with teacher Alex for 3 weeks of daily swim lessons.
