I am so excited to have found King Organic! And to leave a review to hopefully send more people their way. Worth it, trust me. What I had done: 1. The tailor (who was super nice and knowledgeable about what works best with the design of your clothing) took my new leather jacket and created a pocket on the inside to hold my phone and any other little things I need. He cut into the patterned fabric and put a zipper pocket- it's so perfect it looks like it came that way! ($25) 2. A new zipper for a designer pair of jeans ($7) 3. Turned wide leg suit pants into slim fit ($10) and I didn't even have to try them on- he just knew! 4. A faux fur collar that I spilled beer on last year. I tried, unsuccessfully, to remove the beer many many times. But they did it perfectly! ($4) And the best part is that I brought everything in on Saturday afternoon and they had it finished by Monday. When I was amazed, they told me they can do same day if you bring your stuff in before 11. The other place just down the road used to take 5-6 days just to clean one shirt and charges WAY too much for their slow service and shitty attitudes. The owners and everyone at King Organic were really nice, and remembered me when I came back in- they knew which stuff was mine and right where it was. If I sound over-excited, it's because I am. Not impressed! Decided to take two long overdue pieces here as I just moved to the area. The button on my jacket was sewn on perfectly and that's the extent of what went right. My jacket has not been cleaned - one obvious stain on the collar and many bits of fuzz and hairs all over that I didn't even notice when I dropped it off. I also had my pants hemmed. The length is great but the hem is not seen all the way around. Has only been done half way on one leg and on and off on the other. If I put them on too quickly I will need to have it done again. In an area with many competitors I'll try elsewhere in hopes to get the full job done next time. read more

These guys are so amazing!! I have been looking for a professional tailor that I can rely on in NYC for years. I just moved to the neighborhood and decided I could not go without a tailor any longer. I found this business on Yelp, decided to give it a shot, and was not disappointed at all. They are warm, friendly, professional, and quick. All alterations and dry cleaning are done on site and not taken to factories somewhere in New Jersey. This means that there's a quick turnaround and you can even talk to the tailor downstairs about what alterations you need. My clothes were mended and repaired beautifully (including my prized possession- a super warm vintage coat that was falling apart at the seams). The prices are super affordable and fair. To top it off, they even offered me a glass of wine one evening when I was dropping off some clothes. A++ for this amazing business! read more

Impressed with turnaround time, but I wished they paid more attention to the details. These guys are a laundromat first, tailor second. That said, their tailor did a fine job with my alterations. Arrived at 8am and needed my clothes ready for the next day. They let me change in the back bathroom - tiny and no coat rack. The tailor (bald, but I've forgotten his name) quickly took adjustments and I was on my way around 8:45. I returned at 6pm and my clothes were packaged neatly in the typical laundromat fashion: wire coat hangers in a plastic garment bag. I tried on my pea coat and the sleeves were lengthened accordingly and the buttons fastened on tightly. The buttons are off by 45°, but I think that gives them a rakish bent. The sleeves of my jackets were shortened to my liking, but I think they placed the buttons too far up. The tear in my shirt seam was sewn neatly shut, but the tear I just noticed at the shoulder wasn't mended. They stapled my name tag into the loops at the neck of my jackets. One of the staples caught in the lining, and there is a small run. No one will ever notice, and I will forget about it in time, but it is a gripe. The trousers were shortened appropriately, but I wish they had left more fabric tucked into the leg; it gives a certain weight to the drop. They mended my ripped belt loop perfectly. They stapled my name tag into the fabric at the waistline of my trousers, and I spent a couple minutes carefully extracting them when I got home. Left at 6:15 after transferring my clothes into my personal garment bag. Price for 7 alterations - $57 Overall, I'm impressed that they did a great looking job in a day, but I wish they had paid more heed to the specifics. read more

This review is solely based on the tailoring work. I have yet to try their dry cleaning services, though the prices looked quite affordable. Customer service was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I needed some urgent work done on some pants and the turn around time was phenomenal. The tailor offered to even drop what he was working on and fix up my pants on the spot while I waited, so that I would not have to make a return trip. I highly recommend this place if you need minor alterations done. read more

I was pretty upset about my experience here. I had a 3/4 length coat dry cleaned. I came by on the day he told me to come pick it up and it's wasn't even ready to go so I had to wait. Additionally, the dry clean job for one coat was extremely over-priced, especially for Brooklyn. There was little to no price transparency - you walk in and you can't find a menu that outlines the price to dry clean a coat, a dress, a blouse, etc. Lastly, my coat was still covered in lint and they also used an odd smelling chemical to dry clean. Bottom line: I do not recommend using this place to dry clean your clothes. read more

Came here to get two shirts tailored. The tailor was so friendly and attentive. We discussed what I was looking for and he explained what different modifications would cost and gave some advice. The shirts were flawless when they came back. The price wasn't as cheap as some hole in the walls if you know your way around but well worth it for the quality: $17 each for the shirts to be taken in and sleeves thinned. I was in search of a tailor in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood and I found a jewel! I wanted to changed a dress into a skirt ($20 using elastic) and they did an awesome job. I even got a call from the tailor himself to confirm he understood before he made the changes. Best yet: it was ready the NEXT DAY! So happy! read more

RUINERS OF CLOTHES. Took several pairs of suit pants to get hemmed and have them taken in a bit. The hem was fine, but the width was off by 3/4" !! rendering these pants unwearable. They DO NOT have a changing room where you can try on pants, get measurements taken, etc. Also, they advised me the tailor is only there between 11am and 1pm. I knew I was taking a risk here, but I probably would not trust them with my clothes again. Bottom Line: They need a changing room, and should take measurements. read more

The things I have had them clean or mend have always come out looking perfect but it is expensive and sometimes I can't afford to get everything done that I need but I understand it is an expensive business to run. These guys did a poor job with my dry cleaning. I brought in 2 ties, suit pants, a shirt...and most of the stains are still there (fresh grease stains etc). More importantly there's also huge imprints around the stains, and fraying where they stapled laundry tags on. The clothes are permanently damaged. I've seen other "organic" places get these stains out before. No one told me they didn't make progress on getting the stains out and I was still charged the full amount. Not recommended. read more

Great place, I dropped off a coat I ordered from free people and was so upset it got delivered to me with the sleeve all messed up I couldn't even wear it. Free people had no more extra smalls or smalls left so I had no choice but to get it fixed. I dropped my coat off here and they fixed it in the same day and at a great price! My coat came back beautiful, and I am so happy I can wear it now as it just got cold out. Thank you, I was really happy with your friendly quick service :) read more

I went there to get my prom dress altered, and the reviews gave me high expectations. When my mom said she picked up my dress, I got so excited about it. When I came home and tried it on- my heart broke. It was altered unevenly, which gave it weird creases. There were visible sewing lines, some weird bubbles. There was a train that was cut too short, front also. It made my body look so flat, altered so badly I was not confident enough wearing this dress anymore. Going to another place to try and fix the mess... probably going to end up buying a new dress a week before prom. read more

My 10 year old is attending a banquet ceremony for school, and the suit we decided to purchase was a size too large for him. Based on the other reviews, we came here to have it tailored. They took their time with us and explained what was needed and in my case, what was not needed in order to get the get the right fit. I was slightly concerned that it wouldn't come out the way i had envisioned it, but i was wrong. The suit looks GREAT! I'm beyond pleased with the job. They're slightly more expensive than I'd hoped, but it was more than worth it. read more
