Quaint and small, I love this venue. Overpriced? Maybe. A local mart to go in search of a handful of items? Perfection!!!

It's such a wonderful shopping experience with something for everyone! I love how passionate and welcoming the employees are...Nothing is more important to them than a positive/professional customer service experience! Perishable and non-perishable goods are always fully stocked and ready for purchase! I particularly love the produce section, which always has the freshest and most delicious foods. The bakery section is enormous with the most amazing treats! Everything about Wegmans always holds a special place in my heart. Considering how I really don't love going food shopping to begin with, now having this Wegmans so close by has made me realize it's not so bad after all! Wegmans has a special place in my heart as I went to college upstate where there weren't many good food options. I used to go with friends to get subs from Wegmans and they were always amazing. So I was pretty excited when I heard there would be an outpost of this place coming to LI. I was pleased to see the sub shop at Wegmans churning out subs as I remembered. I think Wegmans also uses freshly baked bread for their subs; I chose the 'white everything' bread. I went with a large 'Wegmans Assorted' sub that has roast beef, ham, and turkey ($16.49). You can ask for packets of their 'sub sauce' on the side for no extra cost, which I recommend. I ended up pairing my sub with a bottle of Mountain Dew ($2.99). Total cost with tax included was $20.15. I was pleased to see that this Wegmans has a really nice seating area with a bunch of different tables and good natural lighting. You can get condiments and utensils for free upon entry. I unwrapped my sub and dug in. The sub itself is quite big, so I'm glad they still give you a lot of sandwich for the large size (I asked for my sub to be cut in quarters). However, when I finally took a bite of the sub, I was extremely disappointed. The sub was nothing like I remembered. It didn't taste bad, it's more that the sub didn't taste like anything at all. It felt like none of the ingredients had any flavor to it. It was kind of disorienting. I did some research online and realized that this is due to the cold cuts being used. It seems that the Wegmans subs of my memories used freshly sliced cold cuts of better quality, while the sub I got at the LI location used pre-cut cold cuts that were way worse quality. This resulted in a very 'watery' feel to the bite of the sandwich. There wasn't much flavor or texture to it at all. After realizing this upon the first bite, it was sad that the rest of the sandwich felt like dead weight. I ate the rest of it for dinner though cause I didn't want to waste anything. So I left Wegmans very disappointed to say the least. I guess it's true that nothing good lasts forever but I'm hoping that Wegmans can turn this around at some point.

I came in for the advertised "Celebration Bouquet" for $6.99. When I asked an employee for help, she first told me she had no idea what I was talking about. Only after I mentioned the website did she bother to look it up -- and once she confirmed it existed, she informed me the store didn't carry it. Her helpful solution? That I drive around to other Stop & Shop locations and see if they might have it. No substitution, no effort, nothing. Then I tried to pick up the free 48 oz Blue Diamond Almond Milk. Also unavailable. This time I was told to "keep checking back," as if I have unlimited time to repeatedly visit the store hoping the advertised items eventually materialize. If Stop & Shop expects customers to spend their week traveling from store to store chasing down promotions, it would be great if that were mentioned somewhere. As it stands, the experience was disappointing, unhelpful, and frankly pretty frustrating. I filled out the survey at the bottom of my receipt & requested that someone contact me by email. The survey indicated I would receive a response within 7 business days. Today is 4/26/26, I am fairly certain we are beyond that timeframe---yet another failure on their part.

Haha The shopping experience is interesting, lots of great sales but regular priced items are eye popping. No, I don't need $36 worth of detergent but I do need .75 cents on Nan bread. That's right, 3 quarters. I noticed the cheese selection was pretty cool but yogurt choices were not that large. The store is very large and clean. All of the shelves were well stocked. Listen, I think I'm a fan?? Every week we have to go to ShopRite because the digital coupons didnt work. Amazon Fresh had the tech down! However, the premium quality comes with an equally premium price tag, a reality that has persisted, and perhaps even intensified, since its acquisition by Amazon. For the savvy shopper, there are still ways to navigate the costs. Keen attention to pricing, coupled with strategic use of Amazon Prime discounts and in-store sales, can help balance the ledger. Ultimately, the store's unique draw lies in its exclusive selection; there are certain specialty items you simply won't find anywhere else, making it a necessary stop for certain needs. Our family has found a practical rhythm: we always begin our shopping at the Trader Joe's across the street. After surveying their selection and prices, we then visit Whole Foods for those few, special items we can't get elsewhere. This approach makes the added effort, and expense, feel worthwhile. Despite the undeniable cost, shopping at the Lake Grove location remains a valuable way to support and enrich a healthy lifestyle, especially for those living on Long Island's East End. It's a curated experience, one where careful planning can turn a luxury stop into a sustainable part of your routine.

The store is spotless, beautifully organized, and filled with high-quality products that make grocery shopping actually enjoyable. Their prepared foods are always a standout -- from the fresh mozzarella to the chicken cutlets and pasta dishes, everything tastes homemade and full of flavor. They have everything from hazelnut truffles to chocolate-covered Nutter Butters, s'mores bites, marzipan (my absolute favorite), orange cream, raspberry (very sweet), coconut cream, toffee, bark, honeycomb, and marshmallow. Every piece tastes like it was made with real ingredients and actual care -- nothing mass-produced or generic. If you have a sweet tooth, this section alone makes the trip worth it.
