I purchased a new 2025 Kia EV9 from this dealership a little over a year ago. The vehicle already had approximately 2,000 miles on it because it had been used by the store's general manager. We accepted the vehicle despite the high mileage because there was no other comparable vehicle available at the time, and it was eligible for the federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. In my opinion, vehicles intended for customers should be delivered in the best possible condition. Dealership management should not be putting extensive personal mileage on vehicles that will later be sold as new. The delivery experience was also poor. The EV was delivered without a charging cable, and I only received one after I noticed it was missing and asked for it. In addition, the trim on the right rear side of the vehicle was loose when I took delivery. It took the dealership about a month to complete that repair. The most frustrating issue has been the federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. The IRS has informed me that it has no record of my vehicle's sale for the Clean Vehicle Credit. I contacted King Kia of Laurel multiple times for assistance. I emailed Mr. White, the Sales Manager, over a month ago and never received a response. I also spoke with someone in the accounting department nearly two months ago, but I have still received no help. Customer service after the sale has been extremely disappointing. It's easy to be friendly when making a sale, but what matters is how customers are treated afterward. Unfortunately, I did not receive the level of professionalism or support I expected. Since then, I have purchased both a Kia K4 and a Kia Carnival from other Kia dealerships because I chose not to return to King Kia of Laurel. I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership on January 13, 2026, and this has been one of the most frustrating post-sale experiences I've had. Within two weeks, my check engine light came on. When I brought it in for service, I asked whether the vehicle had received a tune-up either before the dealership acquired it or while it was on their lot. No one could give me a clear answer. Instead of repairing anything, the existing ignition coils were simply moved around as a diagnostic step, and I was sent on my way with no real resolution. At the time of purchase, I also spoke with the General Manager, Sean, about a missing interior button. I was told the part would be ordered and that I would be contacted. I never received any follow-up. I paid for my registration and permanent tags at the time of sale, but weeks went by with no updates. I had to repeatedly reach out myself just to get basic information. My salesman, Keyvon, and manager, Johnny, were aware of the situation, but communication remained reactive instead of proactive. I later found out the delay was due to a lien through Ally and a title transfer from Virginia. I understand that process can take time, but this was never explained upfront -- I had to track that information down myself after weeks of follow-up. Because of the delays, I ended up dealing with an insurance flag that had to be cleared through the MVA. I had to go to the MVA and coordinate with my insurance to resolve it. When I spoke with Stephanie about the issue, the interaction was unprofessional and dismissive. Instead of helping, I was told that if things were not handled by the following week, I would simply be given the title without tags -- after already waiting months. I also attempted to contact Sean directly after seeing him respond to reviews encouraging customers to reach out. I left a voicemail and never received a return call, and I still never received any follow-up regarding the missing interior moon roof button either. At every stage of this process, I had to follow up and chase answers myself. What should have been routine post-sale service felt completely disorganized and unnecessarily difficult. I brought my car in for 60k regular maintenance and they told me I owed over $800! I was totally lied to! DO NOT Buy a car here or bring your vehicle in for maintenance! BUYERS BEWARE! VEHICLES MIGHT NOT HAVE A TITLE! I had an awful experience purchasing a 2022 Kia K5 GT-Line from King Kia of Laurel in October 2023. After completing all paperwork and taking delivery within a week, I expected the process to be straightforward. However, over a month later, I still hadn't received my title. In December, I received a written notice from the MVA stating that the dealership failed to submit the correct, most recent title -- they had submitted an outdated one instead. When I tried contacting my salesperson (Brandon Martinez), I discovered he no longer worked there. I then reached out to Derrick Showacre multiple times via email -- no response. I even visited the dealership several times asking to speak with the title department, but could never reach anyone directly. When I finally met Steve York, the title representative, in March 2025, he showed no concern or accountability, telling me simply to "wait" because he outsourced most title work. Months passed with no updates. When I followed up again, he became visibly irritated, cut me off mid-conversation, and walked away telling me to "have a good day". That's how they treat a paying customer who's been waiting months due to their error. It is ridiculous how someone at the dealership can just throw tamtrum at customers who had to experience various inconveciences because the dealership clearly violated written contracts which have legal effects. To this date, the issue is still unresolved and I STILL do not have my title. Customers who have legitimate requests are not treated with sincerity and basic respect at King Kia of Laurel. King Kia of Laurel has appalling customer service and zero accountability. They completely disappear once they've taken your money, leaving you to deal with the fallout. I was truly amazed by the repeated screw-ups, poor customer service and unresponsiveness of this dealership. Among the results: a lovely new car that I couldn't legally drive for about 6 weeks, and being overcharged $250 for excise tax. In early March I purchased a 2025 Kia Niro from King Kia in Laurel, MD. It was technically a used car, since it had been purchased and then returned a few days later with only 56 miles on the odometer, because the buyer decided he wanted a different model. I felt like I got a good deal on the car and the purchase went smoothly. Following the usual practice, I paid the fees for the dealership to handle the title and DC registration, and was told I could expect the new DC plates in the mail within 4-6 weeks. Six weeks later, no new tags, so I started calling for updates. After numerous calls and unanswered voice messages, I finally learned that they had not yet even obtained the title from the previous ower, much less started the title process at DMV, but they assured me they were "on it." I told them I was concerned the temporary tags would expire before the new ones came, but they said not to worry -- everything was fine. Two weeks later the temporary tags expired, and I discovered that since they had not been extended prior to expiring, it was now too late-- no extension possible. Since I couldn't legally drive my new car I asked the dealership for a loaner, which they refused saying they only gave loaners if a car came in for repairs. The next several weeks were aggravating, as I got nothing but stonewalling or misinformation from the dealership. One example: in late May they finally got around to mentioning that the car had to pass DC inspection before it could be registered, since it was technically a used car. Of course, by this time the the temporary tags were expired and it was not legal to drive. A King Kia/Laurel manager told me I could go and get it inspected anyway, but by this time I knew better than to believe anything they told me, so I checked with DMV. Of course it turned out that this was not possible: I had to wait until the title came, then get a temporary DC registration so I could get the car inspected, and only then apply for the regular registration. By early June I was fed up and told them I would handle the DC registration myself, once the title arrived. I had to ask repeatedly for a refund, and when it came it was for much less than I expected. It turned out the car's weight was incorrect on the registration (3800 lb instead of 3247 lb), which raised the excise tax an extra $250. Instead of challenging this error they paid the full amount and just deducted the extra from my refund, leaving me to file a request for refund from the DMV -- I'm not holding my breath on that one. read more

I couldn't tell you about sales or buying experiences, but their service department is the best dealership shop I've ever been to. I had my car towed there for diagnostics and repair. From the start, Jacob was amazing. He communicated everything very well and as soon as he learned anything new, he was on top of informing me as soon as could by call and text. Unfortunately my engine was bricked, he explained the 2 possible causes thoroughly and sent me an estimate for repairs. I had previously told him I was having money problems, so right after he texted me the cost sheet he followed up with a financing option as well as giving his honest opinion on next steps. He was generous with the time he gave me to figure out what to do with the car and was supportive of my decision. He was just great throughout the whole process and I really appreciate him affording me time, resources, and a break on the cost of diagnostics and storage. My Husband and I purchased our new Kia Hybrid Sportage EX from King Kia of Laurel today. The entire experience was seamless, we knew exactly what we wanted and Hamid delivered. He walked us through the initial paperwork and then handed us over to financing. I believe his name was Larry but could be wrong. He very thoroughly explained all the protection packages and even explained to us why he wouldn't recommend certain packages due to how we were financing. My Disappointing Experience at Two Kia Dealerships I recently had two frustrating experiences at Kia dealerships in Maryland, both of which left me questioning their professionalism, honesty, and overall business ethics. Laurel Kia Dealership I made an appointment with a salesperson who not only scheduled the time himself but then failed to be available when I arrived. Emergencies happen, and I understand that, but what followed was unacceptable. Since the salesperson was unavailable, I was handed off to the manager. I had a very specific request: I wanted a RWD Kia EV6. The salesperson adamantly stated that they had three in stock. However, when I arrived, every single vehicle was AWD, which I had clearly said I did not want. To make matters worse, the original salesperson later tried to justify the situation by telling me that the efficiency of AWD and RWD models was the same--which is factually untrue. This leads me to conclude that he was either incompetent or lying--neither of which are acceptable when making a significant purchase. Ourisman Kia Dealership - Catonsville After my disappointing experience at Laurel, I tried Ourisman Kia in Catonsville, only to encounter another case of incompetence or deception. Over the phone, the salesperson quoted me a price. I countered, and he told me his manager had accepted my offer. Based on that, I provided my insurance and license information and drove over 1.5 hours to complete the deal. When I arrived, the manager acknowledged that he was expecting me but then claimed he could not honor the agreed price. At that point, I simply walked out. To add insult to injury, the salesperson later wrote to me taking full responsibility for the mistake. But then, in another text, he tried to offer me a "Light Wind" trim at my price. When I contacted other Kia dealerships, I found out that there is no such trim package--it's either a Light or Wind trim, not some made-up "Light Wind" version. Final Thoughts Both experiences highlight deception, incompetence, or a complete lack of ethics. I cannot do business with dealerships that: Misrepresent inventory Make false claims about vehicle performance Fail to honor agreed-upon pricing Invent nonexistent trim levels Kia as a brand needs to reevaluate its hiring and training practices because these types of experiences erode customer trust. Leased a Kia in February. It's May and they have yet to register my car or have plates sent to me. They also have yet to send me an actual bill. They have called me and informed me that my bill is past due asking for immediate payment over the phone, which I comply with. Would rather pay on time if they would ever bill me. Tried contacting the accounting department multiple times regarding both issues. The phone rings for a long time then goes to voicemail. I leave voicemails and they never get returned. I have been stopped by the police for driving on an expired tag and they were kind enough to give me a warning, but I may not be so lucky next time. After purchasing a new 2025 Kia minivan for my wife a few months ago, we are still waiting on parts that were agreed to be included during the sale. All weather floor mats took months to get to us (and we had to keep asking). We are now waiting for a cargo mat that was promised to us, and we keep getting no response. Moreover, they used a "30 day" payoff quote for our trade rather than a "10 day" payoff quote. But when they sent the payoff amount to our lender, they used the lower amount (in my opinion, in an effort to pocket the difference as few people would notice this). I had the most pleasant buying experience at King Kia of Laurel this week. Kristen Parris reached out to me after I filled out an online form expressing interest in my car of choice and although she wasn't immediately available when I followed up, I was so delighted to hear from a female salesperson, I waited to hear back from her, and I'm so glad I did. I had an extremely hectic week with some tricky personal and work matters and was attempting to do a lot of the legwork in advance of heading to a dealership. A large part of my preference towards doing this was the pushy and aggressive behavior I've experienced at other dealers in the past, which is super off-putting and can turn a fun experience (getting an awesome new car!) into something dreadful. Some dealers were willing to work with me in this way and others weren't. Kristen was up to the challenge. She was helpful, responsive, and flexible when there were some unusual issues with paperwork, and I appreciated how informed she was, and her willingness to own anything she wasn't completely sure of and find out for me. There is nothing worse than someone feeding you a bunch of BS because they don't know the answer, and then only finding out later that you've been given inaccurate or bad info. I wasn't concerned about this in the slightest with Kristen. Women buy 54% of the cars in the US and influence 84% of all vehicle purchase decisions. Yet most women dread the car buying experience, with good reason. After a really stressful and disappointing experience buying my last car from another local dealership, this experience really turned that around. It was such a pleasure to deal with Kristen and her colleagues. I was also helped by Derek and Ferdie (apologies for the likely misspelling) and they were great as well. Lastly, I super appreciate Kristen offering to show me around the car and familiarize me with all the new features. Although I've bought several new cars, I've never had anyone do that before and it's a total must-I was completely underutilizing all that my last car had to offer and since she took the time to do this, I know I'll get way more use out of all the fun features this time. NEVER AGAIN. 2 weeks ago I asked for a service supervisor to call me back. I waited 5 days to call back after no call was received the very rude agent who answered my call told me her boss was "very busy" and would get back to me when they could. I waited another few days and called back again. Was assured that the supervisor was not at his desk and would get a call back by end of day. I came here 2 years ago and had a wonderful experience working with Michael when I bought a 2016 Sorento. Due to that prior great experience I decided to come back. I called Laurel Kia and spoke with Pam (Jackson) about buying a new vehicle. Pam and I discussed the 2019 Optima. I really liked the Sorento, but it was more vehicle than I need. After collecting a little information, Pam walked me out and showed me a few different Optima options. I tried out a burgundy colored LS model at first. I liked the blue option that was on the lot, but it was an S not an LS model. Fortunately they had black in the S model which was my back up color choice. And it has a sunroof! Sweet! Pam completed my paperwork at which point I began working with one of the managers named Alex. He was also a pleasure to work with. We briefly discussed financing options and then he personally took the car back to be cleaned up for me. It was a super easy process with this team! I love how efficient and cohesive the team at Laurel Kia is! They really made the car buying process painless. I'm glad that I had another great experience working with the team at Laurel Kia. I leased a brand new Kia Forte and love it EXCEPT I can't lock it and unlock it, since the first day I picked it up the remote has worked intermittently. even with video showing the problem , the service team can not or has not detected the problem. I have had to uber to work and leave my car unlocked because of the situation. I feel unsafe leaving anything of value in the car but more importantly I feel unsafe entering my car at night as someone may be inside because I can't lock it! After 7 years of being treated so well by my dealership in Fredericton NB, with no significant mechanical issues to our 2016 Sorento during that time, I took her in for a maint day to King KIA in Maryland. Now I was a little worried how I would be treated being an outsider coming in with a Canadian vehicle. The service tech at King KIA treated me like a long time customer and did everything to help me out and even gave me a discount for my service. When they spotted my rear differential was losing fluid from a worn seal (Common wear issue on these Sorentos) the service rep gave me great advice and even offered to loan me a free brand new 2023 Sorento (the one in the pic) while they fix mine. Usually I fix my own cars but With little time, my mechanical limitations not wanting to deal with transmissions and differentials- I feel good trusting the pros to take care of my Baby. I went to this business to get my 2017 Kia Niro Hybrid maintained and its recalls handled. I had a 10am appointment but didn't get out until nearly 5pm. But it was SUCH a blessing! They found a defect in the car that they handled, something that could've caused my backseat to (potentially) catch fire. Sean was a huge help! And the service guys were super friendly and helpful, making the time there well worth it. This place was disgustingly filthy. I have never seen such a filthy bathroom, the metal dividers were rusted and covered inn urine. I wanted to theow my shoes away after being in there. I went with two of my brothers and if the wives had come we would have had to leave immediately! I paid cash for the car and they still detained me for over an hour. I scheduled an appointment on line for my 7.5k mileage service which includes an oil change. I have to say from my first arrival Jeremy Ford was so nice and very helpful. He acknowledged that I had an appointment and told me that he was going to check to see if my car had a recall which it actually had Two. They were minor but I wanted to take care of them both ASAP. He took care of one and rescheduled me to come back because of some parts had to be ordered to complete the last recall. They were very efficient in servicing my car and I didn't have to wait long considering all they had to do. This service center is a little smaller than I expected but they did have good K. Stay away! So the dealership has changed to King Kia recently. I'm trying to return a part which passed the 30day mark by 15 days. I was waiting on other parts while working with my mechanic for my 2017 Kia Sorento. I come in and because the dealership has changed they are unable to return my part for a refund. Then I think the manager comes out and stated that since the we are now King Kia I can't do anything since it's a new system. Then the gentlemen focused on the 30 day return policy. Courteous, Caring, and attentive. KIA got snacks, coffee, tea, charging station, magazines, and tv for when you are waiting for your vehicle. If you get your oil change here they are caring enough to give you a voucher for a free car wash a few blocks down the street. Other than during Holiday season I have had a good experience when they have served my vehicle. The establishment and parking is small in comparison to how busy they are. They are pretty busy so call for an appointment at least 2 weeks ahead of time. If you are very hungry and you are waiting for your vehicle there are plenty of restaurants walking distance. Parking can be challenging. read more

King Kia is a damn joke! I've never been so disappointed in my life!!! I live in Nj and I was interested in a 2015 is250 34k in miles for 25k. Sounds like a great deal right? Spoke with Eugene Kim a car sales guy at joke Kia of Laurel, allowed him to run my credit, asked if he need a DEPOSIT on the car, he said NO that him running my credit was enough! Rented a car, had my brother join me on this 2hr and half journey to Maryland with thoughts of picking up my new car only to be told the car was sold 30 min away from reaching the dealership. Eugene calls me and nonchalantly says oh we sold the car, after checking my credit, refusing to take a deposit, and he knew what time I'd be arriving to the dealership.
