The haircut my son got today was absolutely horrible. I tried to have her fix it and she kept making it worse. She had to have been pretty new but honestly if I wanted a beauty school haircut I would have gone to one. I now have to go somewhere else to have it fixed. It's so uneven and I can't believe I paid for it. We have to have it grow out a bit before it's fixed or he'd probably have to have a buzz cut. We have a wedding coming up and I'm so embarrassed by this. Hopefully it can be fixed before the wedding. read more

Cute little salon with friendly staff! I was just passing through town and called King Hair on a recommendation from another booked salon. Taylor was able to get me in same day and gave me a great haircut! And the haircut was only $14. I went home and dyed it myself. My hair looks like I paid $200. I haven't had my hair cut short in a while, but kassaundra Hutchinson did amazing! She did exactly what I wanted and she was so easy talk to. She also didn't finish cutting until we were both were happy. I also loved that Monday and Tuesday cuts are $12! I will definitely go back. I made an appointment to have my hair done at King Hair by a Stylist named Mckayla. I went in for my appointment and asked if she could safely take my hair from a medium brown to a pastel pink/pueple. She said it was not a problem. I told her if it was going to damage my hair to much I'd rather not do it and she continued to reassure me multiple times she could do it. She left the bleach on for a while and then rinsed and did another round of bleach. At the end of the second round my hair was literally falling out in her hands and felt like mush and spaghetti. She then said we'll have to cut as much as I could off. She cut about a little over and inch off and then she said she was going to put the pink on. At this point I'm really nervous because my hair was disappearing! At the end of the pink my hair was still coming out in her hands and she asked if she could style my hair. I told her I thought it was to damaged to but she could if she felt it was safe. She blow dried and stragihtend my hair and I was left with this! I told her I was so unhappy with this and asked to speak to the manager. When he came over I explained what happened. Mckayla was basically mocking me and she used air quotes and said "Sorry I messed up your hair." The pictures below is the before and after and I attached the picture of what I showed Mckayla. I went In the next morning to see what they could possibly do to fix my hair and I had a stylist named Helen. We spoke for a bit and looked at my hair and we decided it would be best to just do a conditioning treatment and sadly cut more of my hair off. Helen did everything she could to fix what happened but it was really out of everyone's control. I dont reccomend going here if you get Mckayla. My hair is still to damaged to dye and now I have to walk around with short fried colorful hair. read more

I have had good experiences here overall, so I hate to review them so low, but my last experience was a disappointment. I wish I had never gone. The stylist was very nice and did a good job, but completely the wrong job. My hair looks completely different than the picture I showed her and honestly I'm very disappointed. If I wasn't out nearly $100, I'd just start over. read more

Hello, my name is M, and I am currently in college. I have done my hair and bleached it multiple times during my teenage years and 90% of the time it turned out pretty good. Monday the 22nd of July, I decide that I want my hair professionally bleached so I can put a pink on top. I decide on this hair salon because they seemed professional. I think that they as a whole are but certain people they have as hair stylists are not as professional. I understand everyone starts somewhere but I think when a mistake is made, one must own up to it. The stylist I got was Mikayla. I go in an ask to get my whole head bleached. She does this fancy basket weaving thing and I just trusted her cause she is the professional and I am not. Well throughout the whole 4 hours I was unhappy. this was not virgin hair as black from sally beauty's had been applied to the ends. I told her upfront. after the bleach came out the bottom of my hair was blue and the roots were kind of blonde. I asked to somewhat neutralize it. She put some toner or something and after all was said and done my hair was shiny corn gold yellow and bright red and orange. I was unhappy but she said it would wash out and also the salon was closing. I am non confrontational so I believed her. She said do u use Walmart shampoo? and I said I could use tea tree, I suspected she has something against Walmart brand hair products(which is a-ok cause she can have an opinion). She said that would be awesome in reference to the tea tree shampoo as it would get the orange out. She said do it and scrub really hard and talk to her in a couple of days if it still looks really bad. A few days go by and I document it with pictures and videos. The ends are green and there are streaks of yellow and orange and red throughout the top. I am okay with the green as I understand that that is what happens because of the black on the ends. She did the bleaching uneven as when I split my hair one side has a little bit of the bleached orange red yellow strands whilst on the other side a huge chunk is just my brown hair. I decided to be as nice as possible and ask for a refund because I did what she said with the shampoo and I was unhappy with how my hair looked. it was not done to a professional standard and I think she knows that.She said that I misheard her or did something wrong and that the hair was my fault. I do take partial fault as I could have been more outspoken with what I wanted and also I could have brought a picture so she would have known what I wanted. Even a 50/50 refund would have been okay with me because I Think she was responsible for this disaster. She took no responsibility, but at least said sorry. I don't think she knew exactly what she was doing and maybe she was just a newbie. I don't know and I am not stating that as facts. My dad called the manager-in charge and she said she would talk with Mikayla. Mikayla calls me later and she seemed calm. I was calm at first and explained my predicament. she seemed to get it but still proceeded to make sure the tI knew that it was my fault that my hair looked like this. She said I lied about what I put on my hair and that she never said to use tea tree shampoo. I usually don't use tea tree shampoo but Ive seen my mom use it a couple of times and she let me use it once. I didn't have tea tree shampoo on me and I had to go out and buy it because that is what she said I needed to wash my hair with for a couple days in a row. My hair is gross now cause I washed it 3 days in a row, and it usually only gets washed twice a week. I was naive and thought I could trust Mikayla. I can't get a partial refund because its store policy and the ONLY thing they could do was to fix my hair for free., I understandably don't want her to fix my hair, because it might get messed up again . or she might be upset with me cause I am unhappy and ruin my hair on purpose as a way to get back. I don't think she would do that but I don't know her personally.I wasted money on something bad that looks like my friend could do. I am disappointed with how they handled this situation and I personally do not reccomend anyone to go there. I think maybe the other stylists there are great, but I am personally not taking another chance.If u do want good male haircuts then there would be a good place, but please do not go there and get your hair done by Mikayla.She refused to take any responsibility for this hair and that's what Im most disappointed with. I take some responsibility but I guarantee that this hair is not 100% my fault. I don't want another girl to go through what I went through. I know how important hair is to people and how empowering it can be. I definitely suggest going somewhere that's more expensive and where they are willing to work with you.- read more
