It was so busy that we decided to forego the playground, as there were too many people for it to be an enjoyable experience.

Cozy mead tasting on a rainy afternoon…read more Atmosphere: There was a small bar/farm store you enter at the front with some picnic tables outside. As it had rained all afternoon, we opted to sit at the bar for the mead tasting, which was cozy and seated 4 at the bar and another 2 at a smaller round table close to the entrance. The store had a variety of honey and beeswax products, mead, and even cheesecakes that were frozen. Experience: This was our first mead tasting and we were provided recommendations to try from their menu. We circled the choices we wanted to try and then they were quickly poured and carefully labelled and numbered for us to identify. The variety was quite good, with some tasting more fruity and others with a stronger honey taste. Service: The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and were good at communicating with each other (as one was taking over for another and had to ensure people were paid up). Lovely mead tasting and would revisit for the live music performances on Sundays!

And the staff also explained how the bees work/Queen's tasks, and so on. We had a chance to touch the bees with our hands, but I was a bit scared to touch them. The staff also showed us the Queen Bee that they marked a sign Bright Blue on the back. We moved to another house for the mead process. This was the first time that I known of honey wine. It's almost the same as the wine produced process, just this time was coming from Honey. Before we stepped out, there is a gift shop that we could purchase some honey products.

Lionel Petting Zoo is only in operation from May until October, which makes sense as it looks like…read morethe whole zoo is outdoors. They have a maximum of 10 people inside at a time (according to their website) however even though we booked a specific time frame, there was pretty clearly more than 10 people inside. Unlike some other zoos we went too, there was no real path to follow. It's basically a giant square with a small square on the inside. The outline of the larger square is filled with fenced in animals, and the inner square has fenced animals as well. Although its understandable they have an admission fee for the upkeep of the animals, I feel it should have included the feed. Other zoos are free admission and only charge for feed (ie. high park) so in terms of value, this is a bit below par. Finally, I would never say the animals are aggressive, however when trying to feed the goats, one of them bit the entire feed bag and ripped it away. As I'm an adult, this is fine as I am agile and athletic, however a small child could have easily gotten injured, so perhaps some more training would suffice.

You get to choose time slot and we only got 45 mins before we had to leave which was plenty of time mind you since it was really hot. Extra $5 for a bag of feed to feed the animals. My son enjoyed looking at the animals but I wish the price was per person so I don't have to pay the same amount even if I have a smaller family.

Came upon this farm while driving and decided to check it out…read more They sell 2 types of corn, sweet and wax. The wax corn comes in 2 colours- cream and a reddish colour. They had a pot with pieces of wax corn to sample. As they explained, it tasted waxy and harder to chew. It would be an acquired taste if you are use to sweet corn. The sweet corn is very large - 10inches. The price was $10/12, $5/6 or $1.00 each. We bought 3. I had 1/2 a corn and it was filling seeing how large they were. It was tender, a little waxy and Juicy. Not bad. I am use to the supermarket corn and prices, which I know would not be the same quality but the price difference is to be considered. They also had hit peppers, small tomatoes and green peppers for sale. These also on the pricier side.

Resturant has a charming atmosphere with floral decorations all throughout the restaurant…read more The restaurant is going for fresh and organic. They actually take painstaking care to label essentially everything as organic in the menu. It's actually almost comical. The food itself is quite good. The pasta tastes house made. The pizza dough also is house made but it does have crust reminiscent of frozen. The toppings do make up for this though. Service was on the slower side and it seemed the kitchen was in the weeds despite not being a packed house. Not sure if it's because of the ingredients but the prices are on the higher side, such as the sausage (essentially a short hotdog) with home fried for $16. Overall a good experience for the convenience of table service otherwise getting food from somewhere like Framboy and making it yourself would be a good equivalent. To be fair this is a 3.5/5 but half stars aren't possible.
