King Cole pizza with extra mushrooms

This is the best pizza ever ! Been coming here since I was a kid . My parents would come here on dates all the pizzas are good love the thin crust. Spaghetti and wings are delicious I always go for the frozen strawberry margarita or pitchers of beer

What I Ordered: King Cole Deluxe Pizza ($18.95) Chicken Ranch Pizza ($18.95) Buffalo Wings ($13.95) Sweet & Spicy Rice Wings ($15.95) Potato Wedges ($7.95) Food: The King Cole Deluxe Pizza was a combination of some of my favorite toppings including pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. I was surprised at how much toppings they put onto the pizza! They really load up every topping, so much that I was unable to pick up the pizza by the crust without the extra toppings falling into my plate The Chicken Ranch PIzza was an interesting combination of ranch dressing, chicken, onions, and tomatoes. This was my first time trying pizza with the tomato sauce replaced by ranch dressing but it was better than I expected. I was glad to find that they have the good kind of ranch (we all know there's bad ranch). I honestly preferred the King Cole Deluxe Pizza over this one, but if you LOVE ranch, I don't think it would hurt to try. I actually enjoyed the wings more than the pizzas here! The Buffalo Wings here have a unique flavor of sauce that is different from other buffalo wings at most pizza spots. It has a more prominent flavor of pepper that you wouldn't expect from a buffalo sauce, but the flavor profiles fall together quite nicely. The wings have a good amount of meat in them and comes slathered in the sauce, which I loved. Even with the big wing pieces, each bite of meat came with a strong punch of flavor. It also comes with a cup of ranch that is an absolute NECESSITY. I say once again, the ranch here is the good kind of ranch! The last item I enjoyed was the Rice Wings, and these were most definitely my favorite from the menu. They have the perfect breading to meat ratio with a crispy outside and a juicy inside. They definitely have inspirations from the flavors and style of Korean Fried Chicken with an interesting combination of American flavors. I got the Sweet and Spicy flavor because that's what the owner recommended, but I would love to try typical American wing flavors such as Mango Habanero, Honey Lemon BBQ, and Spicy Parmesan. The reason it is called Rice wings is because the breading is includes rice in them, which adds onto the crispy texture in every bite. Service: All the staff members I interacted with were friendly! Some of the staff members apparently have been working there for more than 40 years, which is amazing. Ambiance: A classic old pizza spot vibe with hints of modern. They have their own parking lot, which is always a nice to have in Los Angeles. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. They also have an area in the back for big parties that is available for reservations.

This pizza place looks like it's a local's favorite. Just right off the 60 freeway. I'm not a big fan of pizza and only eat it when the toppings are really delicious, and yes, the toppings here are of my likings. The chicken ranch pizza was one of the best pizza I've had in LA. The fried chicken was also delicious and crispy.

So first time here and was wondering after reading all the negative comments if it would even be worth it. Let me tell you I'm so glad I had my son Big Mateo reading the negativity to me before coming here. Guess what. It's NOT True. If you know pizza and you understand flavors and yumminess you'll understand what this place is. Let's go to some pizza basics. Sauce not overpowering. Bread is delicious. Ambiance is on point. Music is on point. Nice genre of playback. Beside your in raza hood and they are doing something correct. Back to the fool got pizza wings and spaghetti beers and drink. Even with a full house and me telling the wifey start your time clock see how long this takes service was on point. Food came out hot and on time. Girls at the front helping and advising of specials and I appreciate that. Older gentleman's manning the ovens and the staff cleaning as soon as people get up. I enjoyed that part of the night. Oh let me tell you the wings two kind but the original style fire if you know you know. Pollo Vagabundo taste and I don't even like chicken wings. Thank you King Cole's. I'll be back and enjoy again don't listen to these negative haters. They probably out of towners that left. I appreciate the service. The food. And the atmosphere at King Cole's pizza.

For all of us it was our first time at Bestia, they picked the restaurant and glad to say it was a great pick! Everyone enjoyed our time here together for the first time. The experience was amazing from the welcoming of our waitress and the detailed menu descriptions she gave to fun fact about the name of the restaurant! The restaurant was well lit and sounded like everyone was having a great time, laughing and catching up with one another! As well as the staff helping each other out and making sure everyone was satisfied! Angelica, our waitress, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, as well as the rest of the staff! She helped us pick our entrees and appetizers as well. Angelica made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal from making sure our drinks were refilled or bringing another round of drinks, to bringing clean plates for every entree we received! The bone marrow and branzino was definitely a 100/10, my brother who hates fish actually tried it and loved it! The bone marrow left everyone at the table speechless! I came with a girl friend and we ordered the bone marrow appetizer, squid ink pasta and sopressata pizza for two people. They ended up forgetting to bring out the bone marrow by the time we were almost done eating so we just cancelled it...we were full and only ate half the pizza and pasta. 3 dishes was definitely enough for 2 girls and we were a little sad we didn't get the bone marrow which is one of our favorites. Should've just stuck to our original order... I got the Semi-Charmed Life cocktail with mezcal and really enjoyed it! The octopus and calamari was very flavorful and tender. The squid ink pasta was soo flavorful and my favorite thing, I would get it again! The pizza was good but nothing special. I'd try a different one next time, or just get another pasta instead.

Whenever I'm in the area and have the chance, I make it a point to eat here--it's genuinely that good. What sets them apart is their phenomenal sauces. I am notoriously picky about spaghetti Bolognese because most places make it watery and flavorless, but their version is on another level. It is rich in umami, deeply flavorful, thick, and has that wonderful, luxurious fatty texture that lingers on the tongue. It's so good that the only spaghetti I've ever had that competes with it is the one I make myself! Beyond the incredible food, I love that every pasta order comes with a piece of bread and a salad, and they have a great selection of wine to pair with your meal. Very tiny restaurant too, like sardine can size. My only minor gripes are logistical: they close between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, which can make timing a bit tricky, and the hostesses can sometimes be a bit distracted chatting or on their phones, occasionally seeming annoyed if you need something. But honestly? I come here for the food, not the service, and the food completely makes up for it. If you love Japanese-style Italian pasta, do yourself a favor and check this place out. It's a hidden gem!

No detail is overlooked. Beautiful design -- reminds me of what your Italian grandma's dining room would look like if she had great taste. We took a Lyft since the parking situation is tough (but there is a paid lot down the street) and we were running late.I called and left message that we were running 15 minutes late and they got my voicemail and they were great about. Table was available right away. Cocktails were impressive - and we started with a dirty martini and a Negroni blanco. The garlic bread made with Bub & Grandma's bread is a clear winner. Our server Emerson was top notch and steered us through the menu and drinks and was informative and friendly as very professional. When he'd walk through dining room, he was scanning to see if anyone was trying to catch his eye. And when I did he came right over. None of this look straight ahead stuff I sometimes see when it's a busy night. You can get out of Donna's for a reasonable price if you stick to garlic bread, salad and one of their excellent pasta dishes (5 of the dishes are in the $25-$28 range). We splurged and got the scampi (from France) what a sauce, truffle gnocchi, amazing chicken Marsala with amazing mushroom sauce $32) and the Cesar salad was delicious and not mailed in. We ordered 1 dessert (panna cotta with pistachio brittle and fresh figs) and they brought a tiramisu and tiny glasses of their own limoncello out on the house. We also tried 1 glass of their special vermouth since we are vermouth lovers. A++++ experience all round and it was a high level of ingredients and food -- chef and his team are top notch. I now need to find out who's the chef in that kitchen because they've built an excellent team. Donna's slyly calls itself just a "red sauce Italian restaurant" but I'd say that's a real understatement...and I think it's a great date night or small group place because it's intimate and you can hear your table partners talk. I don't recall any music playing - just the warm brown background noise of fun conversation. We ate early (my preference these days) and if you don't see any openings for reservations, ask Resy to give you an alert -- you'll get notified when reservations open up. Emerson said they always hold some tables for walk ins. PS -- I normally don't leave such long reviews, but I have some friends who are chefs and who own restaurants - and when I see other Yelp reviews where someone leaves a one star because the hostess was allegedly rude when everything else is great -- I just hate to see how it can affect a restaurant. I have no relationship with this restaurant at all. I don't know any anyone who works in it or owns any part of it, but I just don't like to see people abuse the reviews -- the restaurant business is tough as it is. And as someone who has worked downtown and driven through Echo Park for 30 years - I think Donna's is a great addition to Echo Park.

The highlight was definitely the Fusili ala vodka pasta, though we asked for well-cooked rather than al dente and it was still pretty al dente. There is ample street parking in and around the place but it is in a bit of a sketchy area, so be careful. The garlic bread is made of sourdough and it comes with a lot of cheese, which makes it even more sour. The tomato risotto is a 4/10 - it just tasted like cheese and the broccolini is a 6/10 - its pretty unflavorful and uncooked. We ended the night with a shot of limoncello and that was the perfect palette cleanser.

It was a busy Monday night with every table occupied when we arrived and a few people waiting. With reservations, we were seated in just a couple minutes at a comfy booth with a view of the kitchen and bar. Our server was James, who we had at our first visit. He was impeccable and set the bar high for other servers that followed. Needless to say, the husband and daughter were both happy to have him again. He left me a bit speechless when he actually remembered us from months ago, where we sat and our conversations. Super impressive. For our orders -- I've learned that I have a love/hate relationship with Mother Wolf's constant changing menu. Some items we look forward to, like the Sfincioni and Spaghetti Arrabbiata have stayed. While others either disappear altogether or change in preparations. This challenges me to try something new which always gives me a bit of angst. But then the food arrives and we're never disappointed. At this visit we tried the Fiori Di Zucca, Tonarelli Cacio E Pepe and a new preparation of the Scottadito. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Zucchini Blossoms are a new favorite! For dessert -- Tiramisu, Crostata Di Mele and complimentary Gelati (for the birthday girl). So, so good! Service from the entire team was excellent (as always). Thank you for another wonderful dinner, especially on a night to celebrate our amazing, beautiful daughter.

As good as the food was, the service might have been even better. From the bartenders and servers to the management, everyone was genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive. What I particularly appreciated was how relaxed and welcoming the staff made the whole experience. No attitude, no pretension, just really lovely people who clearly enjoy what they do. We sat in the bar area rather than the main dining room, and I loved it. It was lively and fun, with plenty going on around us. If you prefer a quieter, more intimate dinner, there are some beautiful, cozy booths toward the back of the restaurant. The cocktails were excellent, the food was outstanding, and the staff made an already great dinner even better. We will absolutely be back! Sorry I didn't take any photos.
