Since then, the restaurant has changed names and hands several times, and I keep going back each time to try it. The last time we were there was a couple of years ago. We went for dim sum and were disappointed. Recently, people have been raving about the dim sum under the new ownership, so we went today after church to give it another try. It was jam packed. And after a 15-20 minute wait, we got a table. The restaurant had a crowd, so service was fast and furious. The table we got had spilled tea and the server simply sopped up the tea, using napkins and wiping the entire table with that pile of napkins, and then seated us. (What? No spray or fresh wipe?) We were hungry, sat, and grabbed a few of our favorite items from the rolling carts. We would give the dim sum a solid 7 out of 10, although we thought the rice paper wrapping on some of the items is a bit thicker than we like. Things like the sticky rice, which usually has chopped chicken, pork, shrimp, and Chinese sausage, basically had chopped meat and a little bit of sausage. The football-shaped fried taro dumplings were crispy and tasty but we did not like the filling. The rolling carts give the experience a more authentic feel. I would add a half star for the ambience and freshness of the food. So, 3.5 stars. (Yelp doesn't allow half stars.) However, we have a favorite dim sum restaurant in Pembroke Pines and would rather drive all the way there from Plantation to enjoy a 5-star dim sum experience.

5 STARS ! It went just like this. I called to give my order and they picked up the phone fast and checked my old orders to repeat what I always get and then I go to the store that I have been going to for years and sure enough it was another absolute perfect order, prepared perfect, priced accurate and a good value as well. I got my shrimp and lobster sauce, chicken fried rice, egg roll and Wonton soup and it was hot and tasty. The brother and sister that work the front are always polite and the restaurant is always clean. They even don't have any walls so if you desire you can see everyone that is working and cooking to show how everything is prepared from start to finish. It is a great family restaurant and while mostly a take out place, there are a couple of tables I believe outside but I do know before the world shutting down for a year or two they did have tables inside as well so I imagine they will be back someday. We ordered wings, mein fun, and classic roast pork fried rice. Everything was neatly packed in the iconic brown paper bag, steaming hot and fresh. The wings were decent, well-cooked and savory. The pork fried rice? Come on, if you mess that up, you probably shouldn't be running a Chinese takeout spot! Thankfully, they got it right. The rice was soft with a nice smoky flavor and smell that I really enjoyed. It had large pieces of roast pork, peas, and big chunks of egg mixed in. The mein fun, it smelled amazing! But the flavor didn't quite match the aroma. It was still tasty, just missing that distinct spicy kick I was expecting. If you know, you know. I'd definitely order from here again, I really liked the food. This is the place I like to go more than anywhere else while I'm in town. The ordering is very easy and the food is JUST RIGHT ! You get the exact amount of food for a good price and they package it perfect, never leaks, it's always clean and always just right. This year after not going anywhere for so many months because of the virus, King Chef was the first place I went and I was glad I did. I know how many people follow me and this is one of my more private pages but I've wanted to write about this store for a long time. I kept forgetting to take a photo but this time 3 bites in and I remembered. Thanks King Chef and I'm glad I always get the hard working high school kid to take my order and so far...so GREAT.
