Pretty good food with a wide variety of items! Restaurant was clean, service was very good and the price didn't break the bank

The remodel is very nice, service was acceptable. We ordered online, which was very easy and thorough. Food was not acceptable, won ton soup very bland, shrimp fried rice-don't know where this variation came from but it wasn't fried rice, yellow rice with shrimp, also very bland. Beef and Broccoli, so, so beef was very stringy, not much flavor as well, Cashew Chicken was our last entree and it was bland. We haven't been to King Buffet in a year and will not being going back in the near future. This used to be one of our favorite spots for Asian Cuisine in this area. read more

If you are craving Chinese food, really good Chinese food, this place is it!!!! The service was tremendous, our water glasses never went empty. The food was hot! (Even though we went at 3:00 pm) Every tray was full! The snow shrimp, the crab Rangoon, the peppered chicken, it was so flavorful and the best I have ever eaten!!! Don't know what going on over there but it's not good anymore. Last order had to get a credit/refund. Used the credit tonight, food was not hot, rice was not hot, asked for a side of green beans charged me $10 and we got a green bean meal‍. Egg rolls seemed not fresh. One HUGE plus is the wide selection of fresh sushi on the buffet. This restraunt doesnt get the recognition it deserves because of the new Japanese place that opened up. The buffet has had a lot of additions with sushi and hibachi. If you don't see something you like you can order a plate that they'll bring to your table if you ask. This continues to be one of my favorite places to eat. The staff is always courteous and quick to give you a refill. Anybody who has not been to King buffet in a while I highly suggest going. read more

Absolutely the worst restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of eating at. I feel as if I my money would have been better spent buying cardboard and eating it. I wouldn't let my enemies eat there. This establishment has no redeeming qualities. The staff never once asked how we were doing or offered any service other than to take our money. They insist on you paying for the meal before you eat. It's a trap. Chinese restaurants around the world should be insulted that the owners and operators of the King Buffet in Dickinson North Dakota include the word Chinese on the menu. This little Chinese Buffet is under new management, and one can tell. The food is fresh at peek hours 11-2 for lunch and 5-8 for dinner. Fri-Sun they offer Hibachi that is included in the buffet, and there is always sushi available. $12 for an adult buffet, and $2 for a soft drink. The service was surprisingly good, considering previous reviews, my cup was never empty. Also, I wasn't presented the check until after I was done eating. read more

First time I've ever left a restaurant hungry. The food was cold and way, way overpriced. The chicken was pink and we had to seek out our own refills on drinks. I am so horrified that we wasted so much money on eating here when we could have eaten ANYWHERE else for cheaper and actually gotten something edible for our money. read more

I have ate at the buffet and gotten take out. The buffet is OK, some dishes were Ok, some were just plain bad. The hibachi and sushi were surprisingly good! Take out was spectacular. These people know how to cook, but I don't think rotating the food in the buffet is their specialty. I would recommend just getting taking out (it comes with plenty of food, trust me.) read more

We just arrived in town and wanted Chinese food. The buffet was not very big and much of the choices were a bit greasy, but there was a decent selection. I had lots of veggies...broccoli, peppers, mushrooms and string beans. The salmon was very overdone. When I tried to ask where the bathroom was, none of the waiters spoke or understood English! I have eaten at King Buffet in 2011, 2013, and 2014. Probably eaten there about fifteen times. It's O.K. I have never seen any food item that looked unsafe to eat. I have seen some squid and other things that I did not want to eat or even look at, but it looked like it was fresh and properly chilled. I like that they have a whole tray of olives, pickles, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, and pasta so that you can make a salad. I usually eat beef with vegetables, chicken with brocoli, egg rolls, stir fried green been stalks, rice, noodles, egg drop soup. The different kinds of potatoes look good, but I'm not there to eat potatoes. It probably costs them a lot to put out the different kinds of fish, clams, squid, and crab, which I am not interested in. Please tip your server at least one dollar, I know it is a buffet, but from past experience and knowledge of Chinese restaurants, the servers who do not speak English are problably in a circumstance of great debt to someone who got them over here, and they are almost like slaves until the debt is paid off. read more

Hands down the best Chinese/Asian buffet that I've ever had. I enjoyed almost everything that I put on my plate, and I'm very picky. There is a Mongolian grill section. Also, they have fresh delicious sushi included in the price. Not just California or tuna rolls but other specialty rolls. Great service as well. read more

Went to eat there today and we had a large group. We ALL paid for our buffet but the lady working there came up and accused one of us for not paying for our meal. She argued with us for about 20 minutes continuing to accuse one of us for not paying! After trying to convince her that the young lad had in fact paid, we decided that it was not worth it since we had other things better to do with our day and ended up paying twice for the buffet! So for one buffet it was almost $30. We will never step foot in this establishment as we do not appreciate being accused of not being honest and the lady working there does not understand that customer satisfaction should mean more than her winning an argument! We DID pay and she lost additional potential income because she insisted on thinking we were lying. Avoid at all cost if you want to be treated with respect and dignity. read more

Consistency of food varies. Asian owners have exploited their children over the years making them work long hard hours. Labor board was called and said that they have no jurisdictional over family run businesses. The elderly grandmother is hostile to customers and does not speak English so it leaves the children to interpret. Owners likely responsible for clogging city pipes from repeatedly dumping cooking oils down the drain without regard to welfare of fellow business owners. Best to avoid if you have other options. read more

So i was a pretty loyal customer here. Went there all the time and spent lots of money and tipped very well, the last few times they would tell me i could only order certain things to make more money. I called to place an order and the lady told me to try somthing else instead and said it would be cheaper so i did, my friend goes to pick it up and pays for it and i find out they charged for my original order plus what she talked me into doing, ended up with more food than i wanted and spent way more, not gunna be eating there for awhile. I have lived here for 20 years and I know the family well. The food is pretty good and their prices are fair.

You guys obviously haven't seen their new remodeled look. Yes awhile back before the remodeling it wasn't that pleasing to the eye, but now they have a bigger more beautiful place. They actually serve you too!! They sit you down get what you want to drink and they do check up on you from time to time to make sure everything is ok. They speak english and they have an even bigger buffet! They also have sushi and habachi as well, and their food options have improved grately! I have eaten there many times from 2012-present and not once have I gotten sick from the food. Also they changed how you pay, you don't have to pay before you sit down to eat you pay after the meal; even though for me I didn't see what the big deal was to pay before hand. They are insuring that people aren't sitting down eating and walking out of the back door like in their older model of store, it insured that they were getting paid for the meal you were going to eat and when you were done you could just leave and they wouldn't have to be worried about loosing out. Anyways I think you guys should give it another go and if it is still not your cup of tea then its your loss and not theirs!! read more
