I have had this company "repair" our roof. It has no been a year and the amount of leaks we have is ridiculous. We have called and text multiple times to get it repaired but they have yet to show up. I would not recommend this company for any work. read more

I almost never leave bad reviews, but this is literally the worst company that I ever hired. We had a downspout separate from the roof, a few gutter leaks needed repair and we needed our gutters cleaned out. Bryan quoted $3,700, offered a ten-year warranty on his work, and explained that it was a four-day job. He showed up juiced up on something with a crew that he clearly had hired off the street that same day. Over the next two days Bryan frequently left the job site "to get supplies," leaving his crew alone during which time they would just stand around. Bryan later conceded to me that his crew "just falls apart when I'm not there to watch them." At the end of two days Bryan stood on my porch, announced that he was finished, and asked for payment. He had just done a water test on the gutters. As I stood there with him there was water leaking and pouring off the gutters in three different spots right in front of us! I pointed this out and Bryan started yelling at his crew: "You guys told me you fixed that!" Another two days went by. Bryan called me in the backyard to show me something. As I stood there, I could see that an entire section of the gutter was completely clogged with leaves. This was two days after they said they were finished. I pointed this out to Bryan and he again started yelling at his crew. I then pleaded with Bryan to have him personally inspect the entire job because his crew was worthless. After four days he claimed he was finished, and I paid him. I had a doctor's appointment and left while Bryan was finishing putting things away in this truck. I returned over an hour and a half later to find Bryan and his crew camped out on my porch drinking tequila! Why they decided to have a drunken party on my porch I'll never know. After they finally left a separate painting contractor that was working indoors came to tell me that Bryan kept "borrowing" materials from him and then didn't return them! He also told me that Bryan and his crew were talking trash the entire time they were there, saying things like "you painters aren't real contractors." After Bryan left I also discovered that he had left dozens and dozens of nails all over the property which were dangerous to my dog, his crew had thrown all of their many cigarette butts all about even though there was a trash can nearby and had thrown roofing debris all throughout my garden. I also discovered numerous permanent stains on my porch where he had piled paint, adhesives and waterproofing liquids without any drop cloth. Naturally, after the first rain the gutters leaked in several places that he had allegedly repaired. I tried to call him to discuss it, but he failed to return my call. If you are smart, you won't let him anywhere near your property. read more

A winter storm brought a tree down on our Grass Valley home (a 1979 Mobile home still with the original roof). The damage was went from one end of the roof to another. After some shopping around, we got a quote from King Bee Roofing. I can't overstate how amazing the experience was. Eddie was very professional, came in quickly to assess the damage and what it would cost to replace the old roof. He quoted a cost lower than what the adjuster from the insurance company expected it to be and got to work very quickly. The old roof had been torn out in two days and a new roof was on by the end of the fourth day. Eddie's team left the area around the house as clean as it was before the work. Flexible, professional and quick, what more can you ask for? Oh, yeah - INEXPENSIVE! None of the frills that other contractors charge you through the nose for. I am absolutely blown away by the dishonesty, lies and lack of follow through by Bryan at King Bee. I have two rental properties in Grass Valley that he gave proposals for. He gave a great price and i have prior experience with him as he did a roof job for me in Auburn over 20 something years go. Bryan was told we have to notify the tenants ahead of time for him to start the job. He gave us a start date, had materials dropped off but did not show up for the job until days later. I have a property manager who handles this property but i told her I trust Bryan so pay him when he is done. Bryan charged us an extra $450 for dry rot repair even though he stated in the bid that any dry rot repair was included. Come to find out he was disrespectful towards the tenants and left water bottles, nails, shingles and trash all over the yard. Both my p.m. and I called him several times and he pointed blame at "his mexicans" and said he was going to fire them. He then told me he was in Nevada City and on his way to my property to clean it up. The next day the mess was still there. It took him two more days for him to get the mess cleaned up while not returning calls. I then drove to GV to inspect the roof myself. Once again his dishonesty was evident when he did not install the gutter guards as per our contract. I finally got him on the phone, and once again, he starts blaming his employees. He starts rambling on about all these other jobs that he underbid and wouldn't let me get a word in. Our call was either disconnected, or he hung up on me but he has not replied to a text or a call in days. Now we find out that ne never got the job finalized with the county as he said he did. He has not made any attempt to rectify the missing gutter guards, or get the missing county paperwork to us. I'm an avid Yelper. Good bad or indifferent, I tell it like it is. Bryan is a POS. he is not the same guy that he was 20 years ago. I imagine he is on drugs and has completely lost his moral compass. Beware of his fast talk and hollow promises. read more

This company is run by GYPSY's, use them at your own risk. I received a quote to fix a leaking sky light, with work guaranteed for 20 years. Prior to the job, I was told the owner was in a car accident and wasn't able to come, but he would send his crew. The crew came and did work. When the work was finished, the crew lead handed me an updated invoice with a $500 increase over original bid. I refused the increase and paid the original quoted amount of $2,750 as they did not discuss with me an increase in advance or why. Fast forward several months and with the next rain storm the skylight was still leaking in the same places. I called the company back to hold them to their guarantee. They told me the skylight needed replaced and refused to help (This would have been nice to know before I was taken for $2,750!) When I informed that I wasn't happy with the situation, the owner then proceeded to give me what I suspect is a false "sob story" about his family drama. It was very reminiscent of the car accident "sob story" which I also suspect was false. No offer whatsoever to help or provide a partial refund. I strongly urge to avoid this company. read more

Last year was unprecedented in regards to snowfall and rain in California. As a result, roofers have been difficult to impossible to secure in regards to repairs. In many cases, you leave countless emails, voicemails, etc. with no response and when you do get someone in person, they have been curt or dismissive of your situation. Don't get me wrong, I get it. When you are that busy, it is hard to keep up but the fact business is good should be more of an incentive to provide great service, set expectations and differentiate yourself from the competition that may be stereotypical from a contractor perspective. Bryan and King Bee Roofing did exactly that. Professional, fair, courteous and communicative about what they can do and when. When complications came up, they didn't surprise me the day of but reached out to me immediately. Thanks for being the King(bee) of roofing. read more

Eddy Guzman was able to come to our house in Lafayette CA. to provide a price quote, very friendly, and honest and detailed with the work plan and cost of materials. We had Eddy's company King Bee Roofing come and replace our roof early this summer.  We have an older house with a flat roof, and it came out amazing.  Eddy and his team were able to do the roof over a weekend, started early Saturday morning and finished early Sunday afternoon.  The level of detail is what we appreciated most in having the materials delivered to our house a couple of days prior to their start date, how they made the corners / edges of material blend in and is aesthetically pleasing from the street view. We also decided to put in a skylight where the team was able to install that same day and looks stunning in our hallway! Overall, we are extremely pleased with the services and work done. This company was AWESOME! Bryan and Eddie were very professional and polite. They did a roof inspection of our home and explained their product which was Landmark solar reflective asphalt shingles. They then addressed the issues regarding our roof and gave a reasonable written quote. Work began on time and their crew was polite, professional, hard-working with temperatures in the 100s. As work started dry rot was discovered which needed to be replaced. Eddie took pictures so we could clearly see. The extra work performed was very reasonable. Eddie stayed in constant contact in case we had any concerns. All work was completed with no debris or nails left behind. Highly recommend this company read more

If you want to spend 6 hours with this guy to get a roof quote while he smokes and drinks, this is your man. I never did get a quote after wasting hours with him. My daughter even tried to get the estimate/quote/proposal out of him and he said he wanted us to come to his home on a Sunday afternoon. Bryan Johnson and his crew re-roofed my home in 2001. He had been referred to me by Tim Leake, and when I called, he came right out, gave me a very good quote, pointed out some items I hadn't considered. His crew took one day to strip and re-sheath the whole house and detached garage, and one more day to complete the work. It's now 12 years later, and that roof is still going strong. Our roof needed repair following the installation of a gas stove, and Bryan was prompt and efficient. He came out within an hour after the installation and was able to repair the roof at a reasonable price on the same day. Where Do I start ? Lets start with the Rating I gave and then I"ll go into the reason why. 1 Star because that's the LOWEST available. Do NOT let these people on your property let alone your roof. I am not aware of any other Administrative / Supervisor for King Bee other than Eddie Guzman so this applies to his performance. This man will lie to your face on your own roof as he did with me. I don't believe he has any significant construction skills let alone Specialty as in Roofing.He ran the job on my house which required 27 squares so it wasn't the easiest ( Removal of Shake install of Comp. ) but not the hardest, anyone with 3 years of roofing experience could run this job better . Material was improperly installed, used material (roof penetrations and valley metal) were installed and even underlay material was omitted, ridge cap off center. From inside my attic I am able to see quite clearly that there was NO nailing code adhered to except maybe where nails where exposed for inspection ( City Inspector said " next time make sure there is NOTHING covering any sheathing ). I could go on and on. I do have pictures to support all these issues and will be filing formal complaint with CSLB. Just to be clear King Bee provided installation services only, Estimate, Shingles, underlayment, gutters and down spouts were provided by others. To sum it up....it was a pathetic installation. read more

I didn't understand the reasoning behind this concept until Bryan showed up at my home and gave more information on my roof than I ever knew was necessary. Bryan's 20 plus years in the roofing industry proved to be valuable in my job. I would recommend him and his crew to anyone needing a new roof. I contacted King Bee Roofing and Bryan Johnson said he was going to send one of his employees to see my chimney to check the water was leaking. Bill arrived and said that he was going to fix that and he was going to remove the old material and put a roof of the same color and it did not even show that was a fix and look nice and neat, I asked him about approximately how much was going to be and he said about $650 to $700, I said it was fine; Then he asked me to talk to Bryan and Bill asked me if he should start working, I told him I was fine. Then I talked with Bryan and I started to take the data from my credit card without talking about quoting and the agreement I had with Bill, so I assumed that it was the same, during the process of this I asked him for a certificate of this arrangement and he said that I was going to give me the roof certificate for 7 years. Then I asked him how much the total, and he said $1,050.00 because the roof certificate, I asked him to lower it to $1000 because I didn't have more credit left in my credit card, he agreed; then he sent an email and the certificate said 2 years I called him and he said 2 years for the entire roof but 7 for the leak. Then Bill put a different colored roof and asked him why and he said that it was the only one he brought and that the price that Bryan had given me, it was only for the leaking, I told him that in any work the company had to put the same color, then he said that he would do it later, that never happened and after 2 days the work was not done, I contacted Bryan and said that they were going to get the material and replace the singles and the flat roof around the chimney. they had removed. 2 days later I checked the roof and it did not happen as Bryan had told me that I was going to do it. When I complained, many excuses regarding the mess they left and with very poor aspect, not professional at all. I advice not come to my place anymore. If my brother cannot come and finish and fix it, then I have to pay somebody else. read more

I am so happy I found King Bee Roofing. I had a very difficult to find leak in the roof. Other roofers have come out to try to find the leak, but weren't able to. Bryan and Bryan (his assistant) came out and found it immediately. They then fixed it, doing a great job - very clean, neat and tidy. Their price is very reasonable.
