We are in the "Presidential Suite" which is more like a Best Western or Holiday Inn with more square footage. Blue Green did a poor job on this one in my opinion. My wife is wanting to check out after one night and go to the Hyatt.

Moved to a different villa. Appeared clean with a nice golf course view; however, our eyes burned all night from an allergen of some sort--possibly from the one inch layer of dust under the furniture or dusty old bedding. Beds felt of metal springs in your back and flat pillows. Bottom line, the villas are all very old (and gross). Attempted to have a lovely breakfast after a terrible night of sleep, and the Jasmine Porch closed 45 min. early and was unable to seat us. For us, Kiawah is out. Stayed at the Sanctuary previously and it was not a memorable experience. After walking 18 holes at the Ocean Course, the pub was closed for a wedding. This place is hit and miss. There are a ton of other oceanfront golf resorts that are far better than this one. If you want a reliably amazing experience, don't waste your time or money. Sea Island or Sea Pines or even a trek to Pebble Beach would surpass expectations. So very much disappointed in our Kiawah experience.

It's a hobby of mine I digress I love to splurge. And I've been to ones in numerous different states within the US and over 20 yrs. This one was so overpriced and underdelivered. The staff was nice I will say that! But the spa didn't have hot tubs, no free saunas (only 15 minute paid sessions), no steam rooms, and no cold plunges. So apart from paid treatments it left nothing to do to relax for the day which is literally the whole point. They had no snacks! And offered hot tea but me and THREE other women over a period of an hour asked for hot water to be replaced as it was empty and no one refilled it. I arrived at 2pm and didn't get my first hot tea until 6pm. The outdoor jacuzzi was a shared space for men and women, didn't have jets you could push on, and was swarming w floating fly ants. Yuck. The sauna I did end up paying for wasn't even private! Meaning it was all three sides window glass and in a high traffic hallway area so any women who walked by stared at you. The nail tech did a great pedicure but you have to walk outside way down to other end of resort that is not adjacent or even close to the spa itself. Champagne was supposed to be included in treatment and says so even on website and yet I was never offered and when asked she had to go "check w her manager". I've never had a more UNCOMFORTABLE SPA EXPERIENCE in my 20 yrs of actively going to various spas... And don't get me started on the paid treatments! I paid for a mud wrap full body cbd treatment. First, be prepared to have them try to upsell you in every way like a used car salesman. Second, be prepared to smell bad breath, and hear them squeak around the room on their sneakers and roll around the room on their loud stool while your eye mask is on instead of politely leaving the room while you soak up the treatment! And why wasn't there pleasant spa chill relaxation music playing at least?? Ugh. I hate to say this but I regret tipping 20%. I left lore stressed than when I came in... And last but not least I called ahead to verify they closed at 8pm. I verbally asked again upon checking in...and yet by 6:45pm the place emptied out and I had a staffer remind me it closes in an hour and at 7:25 I had the manager let me know again. So F it, I got dressed and left at 7:35. I was so over it.

The resort itself is a nice size not too big that you feel lost, but not too small either. I stayed in the main hotel, and the staff was very pleasant. My room was clean, updated, and had a great view overlooking the pool. I did stop by Building B, and I'll admit this one didn't look quite as nice as the main building something to keep in mind when booking. There are some cute shops and good eateries right on the resort, plus nice pickleball courts (they even offer lessons highly recommend those!). The only real downside is the cost. It's definitely on the pricier side expect to pay around $60-$70 for a simple meal for two at the on-site restaurants and the rooms are pretty pricy. Overall though, I'd absolutely stay here again if I wanted t spend this kind of $$. A great experience, beautiful setting, and friendly staff.

The bed & sheets were clean & fresh so I fell right to sleep! The vent in the room could use a cleaning. You're only as strong as your weakest link…read more I've stayed in many hotels for both work and personal travel. The nice amenities, decent gym and friendly staff are what creates the environment for a pleasant experience. Two of these were met and the friendly staff, was mostly there. . .but one sour apple truly changed the course of our stay. Even my wife, who worked once upon a time in hospitality at Kiawah Resort, was started by the interactions from The Loutrel Hotel staff member. Long story short. The daily complimentary breakfast was served. I accidentally went to place the granola lid on the yogurt, my wife told me that was the wrong lid and I went to correct. From across the room the breakfast attendant yelled, "sir that doesn't go there." Startled, I immediately removed it and placed it accordingly. I laughed it off. Moments later I went to sit my breakfast down where my drink was located. Same attendant, "you're not even sitting at the right table with your wife." Again, my error, but don't call me out twice in one morning. It's a small lobby, so many staff members overheard the interaction. Nothing was done by other management. The next morning, I walked down to look at breakfast. I saw the same attendant and said, good morning. She looked at me but wasn't pleasant in her response. Unlike the rest of her colleagues at the restaurant who are polite and kind, the same customer service I expect and provide to my customers. Breakfast offered salmon with some type of eggs or shellfish. I can't eat shellfish, allergic. So, I went to grab a biscuit at a local coffee shop and a coffee. We came back to the hotel and sat our food down. The same rude attendant came over, nudged my wife in her back and said, "you can't have this here, cross contamination." So, I left. Allowed my wife to eat her yogurt in the area. Funny enough, my wife asked where the utensils were, because every table had them. Same attendant rudely, pointed to another table for her to get them. I should have just sat down and ate my food as I didn't see any signs for "no outside food." Either way, stay somewhere else. It's unfortunate that a hotel like this allows such rudeness from a staff member. I did report this to the manager, and online but was met with more passivity. Comped two nights of valet. Honestly, it wasn't enough. I would never stay here again and it ended the trip on such a sour note.
