Our A/C suddenly stopped working and in the middle of a Louisiana summer. In other words hell was unleashed in our home. I did what we all do and hopped online to find the quickest fix possible. I stumbled upon Justin's yelp page and saw the rave reviews. I called him without hesitation. To my surprise he was able to come the next morning! I was filled with relief knowing I only had to make it one night through the unbearable heat. Later that night, however, the air seemed to be working again! Huzzah! I texted Justin that I no longer needed him. Upon waking at 5am, however, I realized the A/C had given me false hope and was broken once again. Later that morning I called Justin hoping he'd still be free. Not only was he free, but he was at my house within hours. Within 30 seconds of arriving Justin knew exactly what the issue was. He walked me through the steps I could take to prevent it from happening again and gave me tips on how to not get scammed by other contractors. I had also been having issues with my dishwasher which he kindly took a look at. A true jack of all trades! Requested new thermostats. Justin Waldron changed them. A week later found that one of the thermostats had stopped working. (which meant I couldn't control my heat or AC - quite uncomfortable,) Justin agreed to fix it and pay half of of a new one. (Seemed strange that he would only pay half since he basically didn't complete the work.) I talked to him twice over a few week period and he said he would come back and fix it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! In August of 2023 our Whirlpool refrigerator ice maker stopped working. We call Justin. He responded immediately. He came the next day on a Sunday. He "diagnosed" the problem and ordered a control panel. We paid him $480 for the visit and $250 for the panel which he claimed he ordered. He was very quick to take our money. That's where his responsiveness ended. Months later he didn't respond to our queries as to when the part would arrive. We called and texted dozens of times. He finally responded saying the part was back ordered. After 4 months of waiting we asked for a $250 refund for the part and called another repair company. TO THIS DAY ,9 months later, Justin has NEVER refunded our $250 nor will he answer our calls or texts. Justin business practices are criminal and immoral. I've never been treated like this by an appliance repair company. Very sad! read more

Highly recommend! Our dishwasher decided to flood the kitchen 5 days before family was due to arrive for Thanksgiving. Justin was able to come out same day that I called, quoted us his call fee + hourly rate, and got to work. He was very knowledgeable and able to fix the leak without any additional parts! We had an issue with our dryer working inconsistently. Hopped onto Yelp to try to find someone local to come out and fix it. Justin came out quickly that day to take a look at it. He cleaned it out, adjusted the belt, and ran it and the problem appeared to be fixed. When the problem reappeared the next time we ran a load, Justin had an idea that it might be something else and would order the part needed. Then he just stopped responding. Tried again for a two week period with no returned communication from him. We finally had to go with another service provider to fix the issue. Be cautious with this service provider. read more

Justin is amazing, he has good communication, shows up when he says he will and does a great job with everything. He has installed numerous types of lights, replaced window pains, looked at my dryer that stopped blowing warm air and many other jobs. This is the most irresponsible careless contractor I've ever dealt with. I would give negative stars if I could. He was quick to come out & give an estimate but I should have known to run the other way when he didn't show up the day he said he would to do the job then repeatedly rescheduled. 2 days after the work was completed the leak returned. Justin assured me previously his work was guaranteed (though I did not receive any type of receipt & the additional red flag of not being able to process a credit/debit card payment) & said he would be back to fix it. Now here we are a month later & all I've gotten are empty promises on how he'll be back 'next week'. Meanwhile there is water damage to my property. Your word as a small business owner is everything & currently your word means nothing! Happy to update this review if you can make the situation right..in the meantime avoid at all cost. read more

I really cannot say enough good things about Justin and Kinfolk Troubleshooting. My elderly neighbor's fridge stopped blowing cold air and he asked me to coordinate the repair. I used Yelp's "request a quote" system, and Justin quickly replied with an estimate, his contact info, and availability. Off to a good start! He stayed in communication with me the next day when the repair was scheduled, and he came out as promised to do the job. He was kind and personable and went way above and beyond to make sure this fridge got fixed in a timely manner. When he completed his diagnosis he charged me $530.40. When I asked about the excessive amount I was being charged he said he charges $75 for having to travel outside of a one mile radius of his home as well as an additional $75 for traveling to Slidell, and another charge of $80 an hour. He was completely dishonest because the initial charge was a range of no less than $175, no more than $255. He could never explain why he did not provide the travel charges and hourly charge prior to coming out to do the job. I explained to him if he had informed me of his charges I would have never hired him. I hired him based on the fact that he was going to charge no less than $175 and no more than $255. He agreed that he charged more than he said he would but only refunded a portion of what he overcharged. To add to this disastrous experience he charged an additional fee for document preparation; however, he still has not delivered the detailed document he agreed to provide prior to him starting the job. The document that he did provide was very inconsistent with the verbal explanation and diagnosis he reported while onsite. When asked about providing the document he was paid for he then stated, "I would be remiss to provide you with an estimate to complete work that I have no intention of taking on. " read more

Hard to put into words how wonderful Justin is. Honest, brilliant, outstanding communicator and the best most efficient problem solver we have ever seen. We had numerous people look at our malfunctioning washing machine and we were just about to replace it when we learned about Justin. He was able to problem solve and fix the problem. The appliance still runs perfectly 4 months after his fix. Subsequently we had an old furnace problem that Justin was able to again efficiently figure out the problem and repair it expeditiously. He was happy to go out to pick up an uncommon part and returned promptly to finish the repair. We had a new unrelated old furnace issue a few months later and with visitors at our home needed an urgent repair. Justin made sure to come by that same morning and after safely climbing on the roof repaired the furnace to perfect working condition. Justin is not inexpensive but very fairly priced. He is so efficient that the cost of repairs is less than the "other guys" We trust Justin which means a great deal to us. Such a nice young man who provides the most exceptional service.
