Honestly was quite glad that this place opened up in Cambridge because it's long overdue for some good Japanese food. I would say that this place is quite comparable to Marugame Udon if you are familiar with the chain (there's a lot of stores in London). Essentially the concept of the store is order a base dish (curry, udon, etc.) and then add as many different tempura/side items as you would like.
- Tonkotsu Pork Udon - This is usually my go to item to order here. The broth isn't too heavy and goes well with the fat udon noodles. The pork is also quite tender and I like that they have a bit of spicy sauce to balance out the fattiness of the pork.
- Fish Cake Tempura - They don't always have this item, but if they do have it, make sure to get it because it is delicious! The fish cake isn't too chewy and it goes well with the crispy outer tempura shell. The tempura is also immediately elevated when you dip it into a soup. Yes it is a bit pricey but it is delicious!
Overall, one of my favorite restaurants in Cambridge. It's not going to be the most mind-blowing food you've ever had, but its consistent and tasty. read more
