Thank you! I just wrapped up a 3 day job where we replaced tons of fixtures and installed dimmers everywhere. David, Fernando, and Richard arrived on time, and were great about checking in with me and keeping tracking of all the small details. They left the house clean each day. A total pleasure to work with! Thanks guys. read more

These guys did a great job installing a new ceiling light and installing an additional outlet in our kitchen for a reasonable price. Friendly, too. Will definitely use them again. read more

I had a great experience with Kinetic Energy. I called because I was experiencing a "partial outage". Daniela very kindly explained why it might be an electric company issue and suggested that I call KE after ascertaining that it's an electric company issue. After finally speaking directly with the electric company and requesting an outage report, the electric company recommended that I call KE "just in case". I called and spoke to Katie, who scheduled an appointment for me. Doug and Harry arrived within 30 minutes. They very courteously and patiently explained the issue. Which was in fact, an electric company issue. The detailed information provided to me by Doug and Harry was helpful for me when I had to call the electric company back. I'm very pleased with the customer service that I received from KE. read more

Very knowledgeable, super friendly and helpful. Fernando came to look at a circuit that blew and provided us with helpful and candid insight into what were (and weren't) areas of concern in our very old house! He also fixed a frayed wire for my favorite light (that I thought was a goner!) without us asking. The best! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Kinetic Energy. The team of Sam, Ian and Doug did a great job. I had quite a list of electrical "To- Do's " and they completed them in great fashion. Plus the fact that the they left the job-site super clean cannot be over-looked. If you need electrical work done, this is the business to call. read more

I used Kinetic Energy after a lackluster experience with another company. Kinetic has been a joy to work with (though no one wants electrical issues!). Even when they are busy, they are quick to respond and they always arrive on time and are able to identify issues and fix anything that's needed. Even for scheduled light fixture installations, they've been quick and always keep me informed of what they've done and work efficiently. They've also always cleaned up spotlessly which is always helpful. Solid, trustworthy electricians. read more

GREAT people to work with. Esp if you're near the oak park, river forest, forest park area. I accidentally checked the box for "find similar estimates" on yelp when I tried to contact these guys so I ended up with like 10 estimates. Some of them were 3 times the price. Some of them said "no you can't do that". They were wrong. The folks at kinetic know the local codes. They dealt with the permits and the village and were even willing to chase down comed if needed which wasn't necessary. There were 3 ways to solve my ev needs and theirs was the quickest, lowest price, and most efficient for my location. Got a super clean install for an EV charger and can now charge in hours vs overnight. From the estimate to the installation, pleasure to work with. read more

I am going to make this as short as possible without skimping on the important details. Purchased a home in Forest Park which required some outdoor electrical work to be completed to be in compliance with the Village Inspector's requirements. It is my understanding that this is very basic work and most older homes in the Village require this work upon sale. Hired Kinetic based on recommendation from my agent and Yelp/Facebook/Nextdoor reviews. The prior owner received a quote of $1200 for the work from another company - I sent that estimate to Kinetic and asked if they could match it. They sent out someone to take a look and afterwards quoted me at $1400 via email. I agreed to the $1400 (also via email) as the company was so highly rated and I wanted it to be done correctly. Sequence of events: 1. Work was performed - required the power to be out from 8am to around 5pm on a weekday. 2. Village inspector and Kinetic rep returned to do the post-work inspection. The work failed inspection. I'm not exactly sure how you fail inspection on a routine job. 3. They came back on a Saturday morning to correct the work. Re-inspection occurred 4 days later and it passed. I was told more than once that they would be reducing the bill due to my pain and suffering - having failed inspection and because we had to have our power out for another 3 hours to have the issue corrected. At this point I was still considering a 3/5 review as the rep was very apologetic about this whole mess and came out on a weekend as we are WFH during the week and need power. 4. Received the invoice totaling $1712 due after a $250 "pain and suffering discount". Emailed them back as I'm not sure how $1400 became $1,962 when it was supposed to be less than the original estimate for my trouble. They said they had a conversation with my husband about additional charges? No way in hell that happened. Nonetheless, they said it happened when the in person estimate was made. However, we received the written estimate for $1400 after the in person estimate. Anything that was (or wasn't) discussed should have been reflected in the written estimate. 5. They agreed to $1400 to "put this job behind us" and we paid it so I could be done with the mess as well. I have all of this in writing and I keep meticulous notes on anything that I pay for. I didn't even want to waste any more keystrokes on this, but since I hired them partially based on Yelp reviews, I felt that I needed to share my experience. I am giving them 2 stars only because everyone was pretty pleasant. Just wish it would have turned out better. They also drilled a large screw through my newly-finished porch. No warning on that. Fantastic experience with Kinetic Energy. I have a old fixture that the transformer died on. The mfg. was no longer in business and the part was unavailable through their normal distributors. The were able to find the part on eBay and were able to make the repair. It would have been very easy to say the part was no longer available and be done with it but the searched it out and the light is working great, Special thanks to Dani and Traci in the office and to Ben and Sam the electricians. Great experience fair prices! Highly endorsed read more

Big shout-out for Ivan and David from Kinetic Energy, who recently came out to install a new light fixture in the bedroom and a new outlet in the basement. I am always impressed with the high level of service from all of the electricians at Kinetic, but was especially amazed when I saw how carefully Ivan and David had protected the bedroom from any dust from the installation - they covered the bed and rug with lots of plastic sheeting and wore booties inside the house. Both were installed perfectly! Thanks again... read more

Excellent service and great value! We had Kinetic upgrade our electrical service last summer and highly recommend them!

Came out fast and fixed my electrical issue fast as well. Great prices and great service. I highly recommend Kinetic Energy!!!

Shout out to Douglas who was amazing!! He was very kind and polite. He installed the new light fixture and offered to take the old one as well as recycle the box of the new one. The finished job looks amazing! read more

I have used Kinetic Energy for a myriad of small projects over the years including installing and outdoor backyard fixture. So when the decision was made to rewire the entire home, Kinetic Energy was a no brainer and they are on Berwyn's coveted "list of approved electricians". I knew I would have a carefree completion of this major undertaking. My home was left clean daily over the multi week project, and the staff was very mindful of my need to corral my special needs pets so they would not try to "supervise" them. I had some odd fixtures placed as I am moving to a retro aesthetic and there were no issues. Very satisfied! read more

I used Kinetic for a variety of small projects at a building I used to own in Oak Park. Always did quality work. The electricians were always friendly and great about explaining what was wrong. Would always recommend them. Kinetic installed a motion-sensor light on my garage. Less than a year after it failed. Called them. They check the records, called me back within an hour and had a guy out here by noon. He tested it and it was defective. Three hours later I had new light on my garage at no cost. read more

It's been hard to find a great electrician but Kinetic has been wonderful. I believe Doug helped us both time. First time, what we thought would be expensive was not. That was great news. Second time, he fixed everything great. Honest and great company to work with. read more

Best electricians in Chicagoland! Kinetic Energy has worked on several small to medium sized tasks. Each time it's worked out very well. They were able to carefully fix or enhance the electrical jobs we requested and do so swiftly. Kinetic offers competitive prices and are quick to schedule appointments to get the work completed. In my opinion, perhaps the best thing about Kinetic is the electricians who work there are all super professional and personable so if you're interested in discussing the technicalities of their work - like what caused the problem, how it was fixed, etc. - they're happy to talk about it. Of course, the electricians there are super knowledgeable too - it's a prime example of a company's best asset being their employees. Not fun to have electrical issues and yes I'd rather spend money elsewhere than on electrician fees, but with Kinetic I've always felt super comfortable and satisfied collaborating with them at a fair price. Highly recommend using them if you have home improvement projects involving electricity! read more

I used Kinetic Energy for big project; second story remediation removing existing knob and tube. I can't say enough positive things about my experience. Ted, Ivan, Isaac and Carlos did great work. They were punctual, respectful, friendly, and cleaned up every day they left. They know how to get around old Oak Park houses. Communication was very good. I added a few things to the project list and they were patient with me and happy to complete all of the additional work. I would not hesitate to hire them again. read more

Absolutely great company to deal with from initial quote, consultation, customer service and installation point of view. The entire team was a pleasure to deal with, and communicated throughout the process for install, permits, and inspections. We had some new power sockets installed for our laundry area and the job was very neat and smooth. Would highly recommend and will be working with Kinetic again in the future! read more

We went with Kinetic for a fairly large project of updating our electrical service and adding a hot tub hookup. They are an excellent company to work with- from the quote to consultation and the project and inspection was fantastic. The communication was always quick and responsive, friendly and professional. When our hot tub was ready for hookup, they were speedy in scheduling the hookup and got it up and running right away. We are pleased with the entire project from beginning to end. I think a true testament to a company is how well they handle when things don't go quite right. When someone on our project accidentally knocked off our security camera and caused some damage, they communicated about the accident right away and immediately got us a replacement, which they hand delivered right when it arrived. Excellent work, service, and communication. We'll definitely be looking to use Kinetic on any of our future electrical projects. read more

Arrived on time, got the job done (fixing a previous job by another provider that didn't go well that I didn't want to come back), and cleaned up the work area in my condo. All for a very fair price. Will call them again for my next electrical project! read more

I cannot tell you how often Ted and his team at Kinetic have helped me. From Traci on the phone calming me down (because electric freaks me out) to David installing lights I appreciate them above and beyond. I recently purchased a house and needed to do a few repairs to the electrical system to get it up to code. Ted from Kinetic came out to do an inspection and provide an initial estimate. He was very friendly, thorough and talked through several repair options to fit within my budget constraints. Specifically, I had to have an old electical panel removed, my meter moved, and the system correctly grounded and bonded to the water line. The team that performed the work did everything exactly as described in the estimate, and it only took a few hours. I was extremely happy with the quality of the work and would absolutely use Kinetic again for future electrical work. read more

Called to have some GFCI outlets and a faulty light switch replaced. All were fixed in no time, they even identified another outlet that needed to be upgraded to a GFCI per code which was appreciated. The electrician was very polite and explained the work being done. Also had them evaluate the safety of my microwave circuit, checked the wiring and connections and breaker. Appreciate the safety precautions taken as electrician wore shoe coverings and a mask while in my home. Would use them again for sure, great local business. read more

Kinetic has been great, as a single mom, who works full time, not in the electrical industry. I am so grateful to have a company like Kinetic out there. I am a new home owner, and the home I purchased needed some upgrades. Kinetic responded to my needs, sent someone out immediately. The work was completed in a timely fashion and I was not overcharged, which was my biggest fear. I will continue to use and recommend Kinetic. If you want fair outstanding service Kinetic won't let you down. read more

I continued to use Kinetic for a slew of electrical projects around my home until I moved June 2016. The projects included several repairs, the replacement of numerous lighting fixtures, and the installation of an electric baseboard heater in a finished basement. I am sure the total spent far exceeded several $k, and I am sure I got great value for my $$. During the course of my time working with Kinetic, I met several of his crew members and came to trust each and everyone of them. But no matter what, Ted, the owner, always answered the phone, returned calls promptly, scheduled all projects, and dropped by the house often to inspect work. I will miss the reliability and craftsmanship of Kinetic. I wish them the best. read more

We had an electrical issue come up and Kinetic Energy responded immediately. We were under a time constraint and Tracy called back and was able to schedule an electrician the next day. Carlos was able to find the problem and solve it immediately. Both Tracy and Carlos are true professionals. I set up an appointment to have someone come out and look at a crackling noise in a light switch. I then googled the symptoms and found out that I just need to replace the switch. I called Kinetic back and canceled my appointment. They called me back 20 seconds later and gave me a helpful tip on how to install the switch. Kinetic Energy since then has worked on my parents house and mine in Oak Park and we have both been very happy with their service and friendly personable electricians. read more

I would give Dan from Kinetic Energy 5 stars but the business as a whole 3-4 stars. Dan was a pleasure to work with. He is extremely efficient and his work is very clean and presentable. I was not too impressed with the proposal process. Multiple items were missed resulting in our house not passing the city building inspection. It will cost an extra $1,500 more then initially quoted (I didn't know this till the 1st job was completed and the city said we didn't pass inspection). It was not a pleasant surprise when when you have already spent thousands. Just be aware the price on the proposal might not be all you have to pay. read more

Ted was very responsive to my email and finding a time that worked for both of us. Dan and one other person showed up right on time. I actually thought they were just going to provide an estimate and leave, but they did all the work right on the spot. The dimmer I purchased didn't work so I need to return it, but Dan said once the new one comes in, he will come in and install it for free. This was a real nice surprise and obviously something he didn't have to offer. The job took 2 hours. They were both a pleasure to work with and will be my go-to electricians in the future. read more

We turned to Kinetic Energy a couple years ago on the recommendation of a neighbor, after another electrician did some inadequate work. They're now the only electricians we'll work with. They have installed lights and ceiling fans and wired our 1914 house for ethernet. Recently we had a couple scary incidents with the old cloth-covered wires... what seemed like shorts in two different spots in the house. They showed up same-day to fix everything, and took extra time to explain to us what had happened. It's a relief to know we're safe in our house! read more

Where to start.... Ted is a true professional, we received the quote promptly and were able to schedule an appointment on the spot. Carlos showed up exactly at 9am and dove right in. Extremely friendly guy who knows his stuff. Local guy who lives in the OP area most of his life. Not only did he do the job assigned perfectly, he fixed two of my doors!!! We are now continually feeding them more jobs as I type this. Highly recommended! Edit: Carlos came back to label the fuse box today. He was searching for some wires that were not contacted. He found two large gaps where my current contractor left where the new rooms met the main house. If he didn't find these I would be in a world of hurt come the next storm! At this point, I can not recommend high enough! read more

Ted and his crew did everything you'd hope for right. Ted showed up to give me a very reasonable estimate on the day I called. The team showed up on time on the agreed upon date, with covers for their shoes and everything they needed to do an efficient job ( since I was paying by the hour for labor I appreciated this). They noted, explained, and then corrected a couple of other electrical system errors that they encountered. The work was neatly done and they cleaned up before they left. Not a speck showed they'd been there. All in all a great consumer experience on my side. read more
