We have had internet with kinetic for a few years now it's overpriced for what you get and God forbid you have an issue. Dealing with customer service is an absolute nightmare. I have made service appointments only to call the day of wondering when they would show up to be told I never had an appointment. Had a house fire and asked if they could reroute Internet to temporary lodging on same property to which they said sure waited over a week for the appointment told them exactly where it would need to go distances terrain everything before hand guy that's "supposed" to be the "specialist" come out look around for 5 min say yeah can't do this and leave. Most recently had router just randomly shut down and restart called for service waited till the service day ( because it's a day) can't even get a block of time till morning of so makes doing anything else that day impossible. Day of get text with block of time technician will be here followed by usual threat of fees if I'm not there. About 90 min before my block of time I get text stating agent on the way about 90 min after my block of time I get a call from the technician saying " I'm looking at your Internet from the office here looks good if you have any other issues just submit a ticket". Internet goes out that same night at least once. Made another appointment to have tech come out and look at Internet cuz it's surprise surprise still not working right. I ask what happens if no one shows this time what's my recourse. I get placated and promised they will show this time. I ask again what if they do not. Their response ( this is hilarious) fill out customer survey. Honestly not sure how they still have customers. Every single place/sight I can find where people can leave a comment over 70% are things like can't pice 0 stars or run or don't waste time and money just negative comments. Guess I know why now. read more

After my negative review of February 12, I was greeted with a Kinetics/Windstream on February 13 as I was leaving my home. They told me they would have things put back up before I got home and they were true to their word. Things are finally back to normal after six months. read more

This company is so hard to deal with. They somehow managed to lock my account so I couldn't pay my bill through the app. or through the automated system. So I have to use a live representative and get charged an additional $7. Then every number you call leads to the automated system that they won't allow you to use. They bolstered to have the best service but I have more lags and complete freeze ups than I ever had with any other service. The person that stopped by and convinced me to change services, neglected to tell me that I was getting a promotional rate for 3 months. So my bill jumped up an extra $50. I do not recommend this service!!! read more

Have attempted to cancel service, receive a final bill, and "a label" to return THEIR equipment. Have spoken to about 15 different agents (including supervisors) all assuring me that this will all be mailed asap today, one day before we are moving, the representative tells me that they don't mail the labels to the customer and that I should have been informed to go to the post office....that never happened...they were finally able to send me a final bill today. Do I move their equipment with me and try again or screw'em and leave it? What would you do? read more

We've had SEVERAL issues with Kinetics from our install. We barely had our new fiber internet installed (not even 24 hours) when it all of a sudden no longer was working. We called for assistance and after following all of the proper protocol and instruction we were told our router was bad and that we would need to purchase one of their routers. In the meantime while on the phone with the technician's help we were met with 'deals' and upgrades and constantly trying to sell us more and more more while being no help to fix what we currently have. We were also told we would receive a call back the next day at 8am to help us reconnect, we never received a phone call. We have since reached out to your OURSELVES to address this issue. We were told our ticket was closed, how can the ticket be closed with no resolution. We still do not have the internet connection with kinetics but we reconnected to our old service and works fine therefore my router is not bad and you do not need any more of my money. If I could take stars away i would have at least 5 negative stars. read more

I hate this company, they neglected to send me a bill, and then charged me $10 late fee. I heard other people say the same thing. Windstream does not send a bill and then they charge a late fee. Looking for another service, Winstream is the worse!!!! read more

Save yourself years of headache, and go with another company if you can. I've never dealt with a more problematic company. From customer service to actual service, they fail consistently. Unfortunately they are our only option, but for 11 years, we pay for internet and phone, but have dial-up internet speed at best, no internet for 24 hours at worst (average page pull-up time is 10-20 seconds). We have a landline, but 80% of the time people cannot get through, 100% of the time there is static that accompanies any voices. I've had techs out since the beginning. They fiddle around and say it's fixed, but it's always the same. If you call the 800 number, you get a person that doesn't speak English and you have to wade through broken English and barking dogs in the background. I had an honest tech once come who finally was upfront with me and said they just don't care about us because we are at the end of a line--it would cost them too much to fix the problem. We will never get fiber out here like they promised, and we have no other options. I guess we're a customer...just not important enough to provide anything but a trickle of crappy service. read more

When I disconnected service beginning of February they post dated the disconnect by a week in order to rob me of another month's service and then threatened to send me to a collection agency. Was only getting a download speed of 10 for 93 bucks a month. New service is 50 bucks a month for download speed of 650. Stay away from kinetic as they are thieves. read more

I have ordered new services for quite sometime. Internet, insurance companies, etc. This company by far has left me with the worst new customer experience I have ever felt with. Service representative was talking to me like it was out of a book. Forced the narratives the whole time getting me to give my information when i was trying to ask more about the packages. I was shopping for a new internet service to save some money. She asked me 4 times for my social security number and I was still asking questions about the internet service. When I said I was shopping around and needed to know some more about the different internet packages she just hung up on me. She tried to give me 200mbs for $55 a month. I was so upset because I might of gone with them if there was a 500mbs but I couldn't even get to that before she hung up on me. Disgusted with this company. read more

Didn't have internet for over a month due to a firmware update they did that made my modem obsolete. Since then, I've had to make over half a dozen phonecalls that were upwards of 30-60mins each to fix billing errors. I've had my service wrongfully disconnected, each time asking to speak to a Supervisor but denied every time. Customer Service is so terrible. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Do NOT, under any circumstance, even attempt to use Windstream, ESPECIALLY their business suite of services. It all looks wonderful, but in practice and execution, nothing but simple voice calls actually work. I'll give 5 individuals credit who all put in 50+ hours of help in trying to get our system working, to no avail. Texting? Nope. Incoming call history? Nope. Business app? Nope. Presence settings? Nope. Porting out from them to have a system that works? 5 weeks into it, and still nothing. Then, finally got a call, who left a message to call back, AND YOU CANT PICK AN EXTENSION, NOR CAN THE EMPLOYEES transfer to an extension - AT A PHONE COMPANY... We should have listened to the myriad folks who warned us about them, but wanted to give our LOCAL company business. I'm warning you, stay far far away from these folks. read more

This is the most ridiculous and ass-backward internet company I have ever had the displeasure of having service with. Extremely long story; -On 12/10/22, my auto pay was short $0.50, which IS my fault. So being an adult, I called customer service to explain the situation and moved that payment to 12/22/22 after my second paycheck. The agent said it was fine and they had taken care of it. - KbW's system attempted to pull from this same account another two times, including on 12/22/23. Unbeknownst to me, I was charged a $7, processing fee for a payment arrangement. - This caused a second deficiency of $7 in my account, triggering another round of insufficient fund fees. [total is 6 currently]. - I finally got an agent on the phone and "figured everything out" in January'23. Until I went to pay Feburary'23's bill, where I found I had a block on my account due to these returned check fees. - I called customer service, and the billing department, about 20 times between December - February attempting to speak to a manager or someone who could correct this obscene mistake. Each time, I was either; told a manager would call me back [which they never did], or given false/incomplete information about my account because the agents seemed to be unable to conduct a proper account review. In the end, I was told there was no way to remove this restriction until I met a number of payments either over the phone or mailing in a check. - Today April'23, I have gotten off the phone with an agent who, after taking my payment, remove the restrction and informed me any one of those agents could have done so. ---In the end, $0.50 has cost me $180 in returned check fees alone. This is an absolutely WRETCHED company full of crooks and witless agents. I advise any, and everyone; Go find a different company with better customer service. read more
