I will only give them 3 stars as of now i dont have a problem with the nurses, the nurses are nice, the receptionist is nice, especially the nurse who doing the ultrasound there! i like her she's very nice "forgot her name" .. but the thing is.. the nurse team needs to improve their communication with the patient, when you message the nurse on the portal they will give you to another nurse or they give you in another urgent nurse. not unlike the san francisco branch the nurses there they take immediate action. They message me right away not even message they will call you and they will really help you. I want to be the same as their service from San Francisco to their service in Los Altos. I want them to improve more about that. and first of all, I chose this location because it is easier for me to travel. everything at the clinic is ok, the place is nice, the view is nice, it's clean.. I am still doing my procedure, my journey, my cycle, and I hope my procedure will be successful. praying and im still thankful to them to help me to having a baby. read more

Absolutely unacceptable billing practices. Kindbody repeatedly sent me duplicate charges for the same service -- a total of SIX incorrect billing statements. Every time I thought the issue was resolved, another inaccurate charge or statement appeared. I have spent over 10 hours dealing with their billing mistakes, following up with support, reviewing statements, and disputing charges that never should have existed. No patient should have to go through this level of administrative chaos from a healthcare company. What makes this even worse is that my reimbursement is STILL pending while they continue sending inaccurate billing communications. This has been one of the most frustrating healthcare administrative experiences I've ever dealt with. Please review your bills very carefully if you use Kindbody. read more

Amber the scheduling person was so amazing and helpful... she got me in right away. I know how difficult I am with planning and work so everything seems to be last minute and if I can fit it in. UPDATED REVIEW: Upon posting this review about my experience and medical findings, I had the pleasure of Dr. W messaging me and then proceeding to call to debate me for 30 minutes as to why she felt that testing for endo does not have enough evidence to support it. It makes sense, when I was a patient and asked Dr. W to test me on ERA/EMMA, she said no because there was not enough evidence. Therefore, I highly caution anyone considering this clinic. They will not test you on anything in the IVF medical world (IE- ERA/EMMA, Endometriosis) or anything else where they do not think has enough evidence to support the testing. I do find it hard to believe that a clinic would not explore all avenues and rule out any concerns by doing such tests. Testing does not provide 100% accurate results, but it does 1. eliminate the possibility, 2. If it does come back positive, then it opens the door for more things to consider and 3. give the peace of mind of the patient knowing that their doctor/clinic explored all possibilities to ensure a successful journey to the patient who is already going through so much. This review is long overdue. I was a patient with Kindbody Los Altos for ~2 years. They have an extremely high turnover rate. It's obvious the company itself is more focused on opening more facilities than they are about taking care of their employees. Kindbody has created an atheistically pleasing facility to make it modern, airy, and bright. Which they mainly focus on the exterior of their company and lack the interior. Communication - I absolutely disliked their communication. You are not able to speak to someone at the office. You have to call into their customer care center who will then reach out the office on behalf of you. When I first joined Kindbody, the nurses and coordinators would take FOREVER to respond. Even when you needed a medication by a certain time, they like to keep you anxiously waiting for further instructions. Care - I was under the care of Dr. W and Dr. J (no longer with Kindbody). They were nice when you spoke to them. But when you are spending so much time, effort, and money, you'd expect better level of treatment during your journey and wanting to find the cause of your infertility journey. Example: After 3 FAILED TRANSFERS, Dr. W tells me she needed to consult with other Doctors within Kindbody because she is stumped on the fact that I can't get pregnant. You are a doctor and you can't figure out why I can't get pregnant? She completely failed to explore all options and diagnosis until wanting to try for a 4th transfer and put me on Lupron to suppress what she now suspects as endometriosis. WHY DOES IT TAKE YOU 3 FAILED TRANSFERS TO SUSPECT ENDO? As my OB during the time, why did it not cross her mind that I may have endometriosis? If your speciality is endometriosis, how do you not rule it out? Let's fast forward from 2023 to end of 2024. I am working with my acupuncturist for over 2 years, and working with a functional nutritionist. They both ask me to get ReceptivaDX tested for inflammation and possible endometriosis. GUESS WHAT, IT CAME BACK POSITIVE FOR ENDO! No one at Kindbody thought to explore the idea that I may have endo. They really dropped the ball on my care. Wasted my time, money, and effort with them. By the way, I encourage anyone even if you proceed at Kindbody, to be an advocate for yourself. If you are diagnosed with "Unexplained Infertility" I push to get tested for endometriosis. New studies have come out that 50% of unexplained infertility is due to endometriosis. read more

I have been taking service from Kindbody Los Altos for the last three months. This is my second Frozen embryo transfer. My first one was from spring fertility and i had excellent experience there. My current insurance doesn't work with spring anymore which is why i was forced to choose Kindbody. There are some horrible reviews about them charging extraordinary fees online. That is true. I read about them before and I expected it. I have an insurance and thankfully i am covered there. But they charge their patients for a 15 minute phone call with the doctor to ask some clarification questions. But the reason why i am writing this review is to report about their general inefficiency on operations and logistics. They are either understaffed or their existing staff are very careless about their job. 1. They delayed my frozen embryo transfer by a month because they didn't coordinate properly with the storage facility that stored my frozen embryos. I was on a holiday and didn't follow up and urge them to complete the job. After i came back from the holidays, i found out that they have made no progress on my job and they were just sitting on the file. I had to make about 20 phone calls and get the process rolling, although they charged me $250 as a facilitation fee for the embryo transfer. 2. I had a Frozen embryo transfer scheduled last week. They didn't do my paperwork till 2 days before, which is when they realized that they didn't get all my paperwork from Spring, my previous fertility clinic. They made me do some additional tests and pay an out of pocket fee of $139 to get the tests done on time and not risk missing another cycle. The nurses apparently forgot to check for all necessary paperwork. 3. They did not get a lab requisition form filled out for my day2 beta HCG test. They insisted that i go to their clinic for a same day result. I moved a ton of work meetings to get to the clinic in time. I realized that not only did they not prepare my paperwork, the lab technician who was supposed to draw blood was absent from their facility that day. The nurse forgot to schedule an appointment for me and check if a technician is available to draw my blood on that day. On realizing their mistake, They haphzardly printed out someone else's lab requisition and asked me to go to quest instead to get the labs done and wasted some more time till i realized it was another person's lab requisition form. After many more minutes of waiting, they finally printed out the right one and i went to quest without appointment and waited for an hour to get my tests done. All because the nurse on call didn't bother to schedule my labs and get me the necessary lab requisition forms. Overall experience, very bad patient care and in-office experience. Try to avoid Kindbody Los Altos, if you can. Based on my observations, they have two doctors, one lab technician, one embryologist, one medical assistants (who takes care of all ultrasounds the doctor is not involved unless there is a complicated procedure involved) and a couple of nurses working on a rotational schedule. If the lab technician is absent on one day, all the patients have to go to quest or Labcorp and not get same day results. And fertility treatments and decisions are very time sensitive. For example, if the lab works show low hormones today, then one can't do an embryo transfer tomorrow. I don't know how can this facility operate with one lab technician only for such a time sensitive business. Since the nurses are responsible for all the paperwork and scheduling and since the nurses work on a part-time rotational schedule, too many nurses are involved with one patient's works and things often fall through the crack. Everyone thinks that the other person has done it and at the end things don't get done and there are significance delays and hindrance in the process. They also don't own any faults or responsibility as an institution and try to shut the patients out with a polite sorry. I wish there were a way of lodging a formal complaint somewhere. read more

I found the dr to be not that helpful and she didn't really provide much insight. Spent most of the call talking about Kindbody's costs. Didn't proceed with this clinic. read more

A few words and phrases to sum up the Kindbody experience: not transparent, upsell, hidden costs, stress. The overwhelmingly negative experience my wife and I had at Kindbody makes me question the integrity of the company and culture. They claim to make the IVF process intuitive and empowering, but instead it was opaque and anxiety-inducing. The staff is not trained well and the doctor we had didn't provide critical information throughout the process. Also know that you won't have access to phone numbers and contact info for people. There is a culture of passing the buck at this organization, with little accountability. They cause stress during an already difficult process when they should be focusing on health and compassionate care. There are many IVF options in the Bay Area and I recommend that you check them out instead of going through Kindbody. read more

I had an egg retrieval at the Kindbody Silicon Valley clinic on March 25, 2024. Prior to this egg retrieval, my financial navigator, Shauntrell SingIetary informed me that the prior authorization has not been approved by my insurance, United Health Care. She said that my treatment could be delayed if I wait for the prior authorization and offered an option to do self-pay for the procedure. I confirmed with her several times via the Kindbody messaging portal that the amount I paid, less the charges not covered by insurance, would be refunded to me once the treatment cycle has been completed and all the charges has been processed through insurance. With her reassurance, on March 14, 2024, I paid the $18,600 out of pocket for the egg retrieval procedure. However, half a year has now passed and there was still no refund. I have called Kindbody and messaged through the portal numerous times. All the while, I have been told that my refund request is pending and will be escalated to the "right" department. Then in July, I was told that there were 2 insurance claims still pending that's why my refund has not been processed. I was informed that it could take one month to get a response from United Health Care. It's now been over a month, and I have not heard anything back from Kindbody. I have followed up through phone calls and the messaging portal. However, the problem is no one on the phone can see the status of those claims all they can see is there was a refund request on my account back in May. I was reassured that the refund request will be escalated. However, there is still no resolution. Furthermore, the people I have spoken to in the messaging portal have been extremely unresponsive, often taking several days, to reply to my questions. My husband and I are now in dire need of the $18,600 for our IVF treatments. To take HALF A YEAR of back and forth for a refund request unacceptable. We are now at a loss on what to do. Kindbody will give you the run around and then attempt to charge you for any kind of emotional support you may need in the process. Mental wellness support should be free and complementary for these kinds of services. And then, when a procedure doesn't work, instead of them calling you to console, they send a useless message through the "portal" about next steps. This is very unhumanistic. All the processes I went through with Kindbody was an utter hassle and the human touch part, is non existent. The communication was also terrible. You'll talk to 5 people on the portal before getting help. And the phone number is NEVER directly connected to the actual office. The only thing I appreciated was the diversity of staff in the office. read more

I am super anxious because I froze my eggs one year ago and want to make sure they are secured but they keep asking me to contact Cooper surgical myself, which I did, but the turn around time is long too and now I'm just waiting and waiting. I guess kind body don't handle egg storage fees? Even so I feel "abandoned." I just want to pay my dues and my eggs to be secured. I don't even know where they are. The providers and nurses are overall friendly if you meet them in person. However. the care team is not very responsive if you try to reach them. The phone line is always busy. I had to keep on pushing them to get things done. The doctor said they will send me a medication but they never did. So it was a bit frustrating to work with them sometimes. We had an initial consultation here today with some scans and blood work. It was one of the best medical experiences I have ever received! They spent over two hours explaining everything to us and answering our countless questions. The environment they created was laid back but professional and really put my mind at ease. Most notably, we weren't able to get an ideal ultrasound scan and so they asked me to come back a different day to see a specialist. I assumed I would have to pay for this additional visit but at the desk they told me it would still be covered as part of my initial visit fee, so that showed me how much they really care and proved it's not about just making money. I recommend Kindbody to everyone. I wish all female healthcare would be the way it is at Kindbody! read more

I originally chose Kindbody because of the supposed transparency with pricing and the brand new offices designed with soothing colors that help you feel at ease. But all the tech money in the world can't buy them common sense and sensitivity training. The experience as a whole demonstrates exactly what is wrong with healthcare and especially when tech money gets involved in healthcare with so little thought as to the patient journey. I started my IVF journey with Kindbody NYC in Feb 2020 only to end it Nov 2022 in Kindbody Silicon Valley with a phone call from a random nurse telling me that my embryo didn't implant. After spending $20,600 out of pocket for services (and $5,500 on top for meds), it is shocking and even cruel that this is how they choose to close the loop. For all they pride themselves in being "transparent", every step of the journey involved another petty back and forth about getting charged for a phone consultation with the doctor or a quick follow up question that they insisted be set up as a consultation...even the pregnancy test wasn't covered with their implantation package! Here is just a portion of what I went through: They misquoted me 2x about a polyp removal procedure they recommended I do (whereby the variance went from $3,000 to $700) I was ill-advised by one of the doctors to do the PGT testing ($4,500) when I only had two embryos. I wish I would have been told that a feasible option for me was to implant both embryos and see if one of them takes rather than pay $4,500 to test, then pay another $4,400 to implant. Btw, they really stress the PGT testing and kind of make you feel like you are not doing all you can for your embryos if you don't test, even though the science is mixed. When I shipped my embryo from NYC to CA (which I paid $1,000 to an outside company to do), Kindbody tried to charge me a $250 fee to "accept" the embryo at their own facility When my transfer failed, I reached out to the office manager Alice to ask about having a phone call with the doctor to discuss what went wrong, next steps, etc...They wanted to charge me for a phone conversation with the doctor. Basically, they want to itemize every single visit so they can bill money to the insurance, but I was paying for everything out of pocket and it was so exhausting knowing that at every single next step, they were going to try and sneak in another charge. Overall, it was emotionally draining to go back and forth over these trivial matters. It absolutely distracted from my care and caused me extreme undue stress. If you're going to charge a price, then fine, I will pay but just for goodness sake just include all the common sense things that you would want as the patient in the package. While cycling, I need to focus on care. I would also caution, you will not reach your kindbody office or a knowledgeable person when you call in. I tried to discuss all these communication issues privately with this woman named India, who I think is their experience manager? She tried to tell me that different people have their different roles, etc...Which I totally get because I'm in healthcare and have run a healthcare practice before. But I tried to tell her that there is a gap in their knowledge and communication with one another and something is wrong in the execution of it all. All I know as the patient is that I don't feel taken care of and it feels they are running a corporation. She proceeded to circle back to what she said before about people having different roles, etc...basically she didn't know how to listen and I was getting nowhere trying to give feedback to a rock. I'm sure I'll be told to email care@kindbody.com like all the other bad reviews. My experience here felt so transactional, but I guess at the end of the day for Kindbody, I am just a transaction. Everything else about this experience has made a normally difficult and emotional journey a horrible one. I am doing my next round at a small doctor's office now. At this other office, I can always call in and reach a live person who knows about my case and they usually have answers for me. If they can't answer my question, they pass it on to the doctor at their noon meeting and they call or email me back. They don't push me to do a consultation with the doctor for no good reason. I've never had to go back and forth at the new office regarding pricing because they don't pile on petty charges, even the pregnancy test is included with this new office, what a luxury! I wanted to share my experience because I came in very hopeful at the beginning and gave them a lot of chances for redemption. It truly saddens me that I was sorely disappointed. For what it's worth, the care team at the Kindbody office once you are there are all very nice. I do truly believe the staff in the office try their best. But it's been proven to me time and again that this is a poorly run corporation and I would highly caution anyone I cared about to seek services here. read more

When I decided to freeze my eggs I was overwhelmed and confused and unsure where to go. I am so glad I chose Kindbody. Dr Jackman sat with my partner and I for double the appointment time to both educate us and answer our many questions. She was realistic and clear with us about expectations based on our testing. Then, she continued to be responsive via message with us as questions continued to come up. The staff also helped us find ways to make things more affordable when they could, for one of our meds they gave us samples from the office which saved us a lot of money. Once I started the process the staff was AMAZING. You spend a lot of time in the office and the sonographer and medical assistants were so kind and thoughtful. Many of then had done some sort of treatment themselves and that made them even easier to relate too. Our nurses were great and so responsive as well especially when asking them about the many shots. I have some health anxiety and they were so great walking me through it all. The procedure was quick and easy! We were lucky and got double the amount of eggs we were expecting!! I highly suggest kindbody if you're looking into egg freezing. I only put 4 stars because the timing for appointments in the morning was unorganized. They really only need you there for about 15 minutes and that's what listed as appointment time but every time it took over 45 minutes so just be sure to plan for that since you go in a lot. I also think it would have been nice to have a quick phone call during the stimulation phase from the doctor with an update on how things were going maybe a few days before retrieval. These things felt small to me in the overall picture, but want to be transparent. I would still choose kindbody again! read more

I have been here multiple times and I love the specialized and personalized attention you get. Waaaay better than my experience at Stanford health where the only attention I got was from the billing department. The team here has gone above and beyond to help me to through my fertility journey. Sometimes I wish the doctors would follow up more instead of the nurses but overall the attention has been wonderful And they have made me feel very confortable. AVOID!!!!! The staff and doctor Westphal is all about money and discriminatory, hard to reach, not responsive. Take your money go somewhere else that actually won't do a sloppy job. Alice H. The office manager made mistake several times on basic patient information and was super mean when I called to follow up- she was super impatient and made me feel like I did something wrong by following up when she made the error!! I have tried to give Kindbody multiple chances. I've paid the initial $350 consultation fee, but they have been very unresponsive in terms of following up with me with the things they forgot to provide in the consultation. I had to take time out of work to follow-up with them during the weekday. This has happened "twice" with both the care/nurse team and the admin team, and I am now debating if I really should choose Kindbody entrust them with something so critical and serious to do my egg freeze. How terrible would it be if I had a question during the process, and being put on hold or say they would call you back - then to not get any response! We are talking during the treatment medication process- can you imagine. Just want to let everyone know that this is very concerning. They seem unprofessional, don't have it together, and lack of attention to detail, which is very concerning to have them perform something so serious (egg freezing). Lack of transparency to the actual clinic, everytime you need call1-800 even as a patient! They don't give out clinic direct phone numbers, even when you have something urgent, you need to call the 1-800 number. India L.
