The billing department and insurance claim department is the worst and very unprofessional. I sent out couple emails to explain what's going on how they did wrong with my claims and how they can correct it to receive the payment. I also confirmed with my insurance company, how to do it, what they did was wrong. Our previous clinic got all the payment without any problems. But RSC just keep doing the wrong thing and said it's denied. I already paid upfront, and waiting for the insurance claims to be settled so RSC can reimburse me. But this never happens. I am very disappointed. I already succeeded a cycle. Now I am thinking for future fertility preservation, I should consider different places. read more

Doctor: Wachs Type of Care: IVF Office experience: professional and attentive I started off my fertility process at Spring Fertility. I had the most awful experience at Spring Fertility and decided to leave them and come to RSC to give them a chance. My experience at RSC has been nothing but AMAZING. From start to finish with Dr.Wachs and her team, they have been completely supportive! The team had made me and my husband felt very taken care of throughout the process. I've never had issues with my billing nor my process here. With IVF, the process is longgg. We were supported with step-by-step instructions throughout. I never had to call or message them on what to do next. The team would inform us with detailed messages with what we needed to do during the process. I loved that they would call and if I didn't pick up, they'd leave a voicemail and then also email me to make sure I understood the steps in the process. Dr. Wachs is the sweetest and most informative doctor I've ever worked with. My experience at RSC vs Spring Fertility was night and day. There is no doubt that I am going through a medical dispute. This egg freezing experience was a nightmare that left me with a psychological shadow and emotional distress. For some reason, this totally failed cycle may let me loose a chance to be a mom in my life. I hope my experience will help other women make informed decisions, especially those who want to choose Dr Homer and RSC. He is an inexperienced and irresponsible doctor, both in the selecting protocol and communicating with patients: 1. He did not adequately explain how many protocols are available, how about the risks and success rate, what will happen if failed, even medicines and side effects. He just told me I can get around 10 mature eggs for one cycle after my pre-exam. 2. He picked me a protocol and pre-cycle that was not appropriate for my situation. This protocol is for PCOS or DOR, but I am not PCOS or DOR. I get second and third opinions afterwards, everything has changed including pre- cycle, protocol and trigger time. 3. An experienced doctor should adjust medicines or dosage based on the patient's response to the medicines during injections, like my friend's doctor made adjustments almost every three days in her injections. Dr Homer saw my body response not very well, but he did nothing about adjustment. 4. I got my trigger shot ahead of time, because Dr Homer made a wrong decision. I got to know this point from other opinions as well. 5. All of these led to a bad result that shocked everyone. I have 20 follicles and my AMH is 2.6, but I only got two mature eggs which means I got nothing from this protocol. I know about ten friends who did egg freezing, none of them have had surprisingly bad results. 6. After my cycle failed, I couldn't sleep for ten days, it's really a nightmare. I didn't receive a good follow-up and fair attitude from Dr. Homer and RSC. Dr Homer told me go to another clinic find another doctor. The president of RSC chose to favor their doctor. Although I told the case manager I felt a little painful, no one answered me. They treat patient not like a human. Overall, I am very disappointed with Dr. Homer and RSC. I will not recommend Dr Homer and RSC to anyone. If you are Chinese, don't choose RSC just because someone can speak Mandarin, you really don't need to have a lot of professional English in your cycle. Choosing a responsible clinic and an experienced doctor is the most important thing. read more

Two good things: Dr. Homer has a nice bedside manner when you do get to see him and my appointments were always on time and I was never left waiting. I was told best chance of success due to my age was fresh transfer with DE with 60% success rate. This cost us $25k more than if we used frozen eggs but we only wanted to do IVF once. It did not work and we were devastated with a miscarriage. It took Dr.Homer 7 days to call us to say anything about it. He said he was giving us space to process but we felt used and abandoned by our doctor who we trusted. Our case manager never even reached out to us, not once to console us. Surgeries, transfers, and semen collections happen in San Ramon so be aware of that. Multiple errors were made in regards to my medications and if I had not questioned everything it would have been really bad for me. RSC could see that my insurance pays for 3 cycles and I thought it was odd how they pushed for 3 cycles already anticipating the first 2 to fail before I started. We were told it could take up to 3 cycles for it to work but then they pushed for fresh DE for high rate of success on first try. Mixed messages. I had to seek out a second opinion to find out the cause for my first failed attempt and it turned out I had underlying issues causing my RPL. RSC does not believe in addressing Immune issues and does not address endometriosis. I felt like a number there with no specialized treatment and cookie cutter prescriptions. QUESTION EVERYTHING TO ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF! They say it's a numbers game and you have to keep trying until one sticks with no changes to protocol. Multiple transfers means more money for them. I had no issues with billing but my insurance is common and they were familiar with it. I'm glad I transferred out of there and found a better clinic that works with cases like mine. read more

The billing department is totally unreliable. Suzi is not responsive and reliable. She never replies to me in a timely manner. She really does not care what the treatment is and does not give me an accurate quote. Infertility treatment is expensive and stressful. I had to stop moving forward because I was not able to afford it according to her quote which was about 50K for 2 cycles of IFV. Recently I got new insurance which covers some part of fertility treatment. So I'm asking Suzi for a new quote. But I haven't heard back from her for two weeks even after a follow-up message. I don't usually write a bad review. To be fair, I would like to mention Dr. Homer, Case Manager Kacey, and other nurses have been great to me. They have been always trying to be helpful. However, because of the billing department, I am thinking to look for another infertility center. Reading similar reviews makes me think that they will create more troubles in billings and make the procedures even more stressful and difficult. I don't know if Suzi is too busy or not. My experiences with Dr Homer have always been pleasant and informative, the front staff are friendly and helpful, the phlebotomists are quick and do a great job. And my nurse case manager Kacey I can't even express how much her kindness and care have meant to me so far. My husband and I saw Dr. Homer, he. Answered all of our questions, addressed all of our concerns and helped us create the most precious gift we've ever had, our baby girl. Having a long battle with infertility can be very disheartening and emotionally draining. Dr Homer really took the time to listen and recommend what he thought was our best option. He has a great bed side manor and is overall a very kind person. We even saw him out at a local park one day with his family and we talked outside the office like normal human beings and he was just as genuine as he was in office. I'm sure I'll be seeing him sooner than later for another cycle. I will say one thing I didnt particulate care for was the billing department, they are late to send statements (and by late, I mean 4-5 months) and by then you think you have a zero balance, especially when being told that insurance would cover certain procedures. But I do understand insurance companies can take a while to pay out, so I'm sure it isn't their fault at RSC. read more

Every time i walked into the Los Gatos location, I was always greeted with smiles and every person I met at my appointments were so friendly. Even though my husband's and I's journey was a tough one for us, Dr. Homer and Kacey always made me feel like it was going to be ok. The billing department was unresponsive and unreliable. I kept asking for my bill for cryopreservation (should be paid monthly, I called multiple times, left messages only to be told that they would call back in 48 hours, which never happened) yet they didn't respond. I had to contact my financial counselor and case manager, have them contact the billing department twice. When they finally responded, I was told that the bill would start next month, while in fact the bill have already been charged for 2 months (when they finally sent my itemized statement). This is concerning because they have a policy to discard cryopreserved embryos after 6 months of nonpayment. So, yeah, while the doctors and case managers are responsive and did their best, the after care leave much to be desired. read more

After struggling to conceive for quite some time, I decided to go straight to IVF and I'm so glad that I chose Reproductive Science Center as my provider. Like most patients, my experience was an emotional rollercoaster full of anxious waiting and panic inducing updates. Throughout my experience, I was so grateful to have such an outstanding reproductive endocrinologist who not only showed me compassion and kindness but helped to ease my anxieties as best as they could be by providing me with a wealth of knowledge about my process, even if it wasn't always positive news. I felt that Dr. Harris went above and beyond to personalize both my various protocols as well as delivery of updates and information. Everyone can attest to his infectious cheerful attitude - I've never felt more uplifted and relieved of my anxiety before a surgery than before my egg retrievals. Additionally, the case managers are an outstanding source of information and they keep the process running so smoothly. I also found each of them to be incredibly compassionate and kind (Carla, Laura and Jenny). Finally, I have good reason to think that two of my embryos that ultimately tested euploid (one of which I am currently carrying), might have been discarded by other clinics and thus my partner and I likely would have had a substantially lower chance of meeting our desired family goals. This place was beyond not helpful! They send you to San Ramon to do most of the work.. Dr. homer never met with me.. he was assigned as my doctor, but had a nurse do all the work. The billing department is a nightmare. Suzi, who is responsible for my financial estimate, literally is the reason I could not proceed with my procedures and have to postpone for another month. The problems caused by her has brought me severe mental stress and I cried three times today. I have sent her over 3 or 4 emails and called her a couple of times for my new financial estimate but no response at all until I complained her to her director and my doctor. I really need her response because I am supposed to start taking my medication tonight to start my process but without a financial estimate, I could not do so. After I complain her to her director and my doctor yesterday and this morning, today at 3:30 pm, she sent me an email said she is getting off work now and she will work tomorrow. Then, should I take my medication tonight or not? I really doubt Suzi had any ability to read emails or bothering a minute to take a look of my medical insurance card on which it clearly says my deductible is $250 per year. So here is the whole story - I sent RSC my old medical insurance card sometime last summer to check my coverage and out-of-pocket expenses. Back then, my deductible is $4,500 per year. In November, they finally sent my financial estimate back and then my boyfriend and I decided to proceed. Due to the Christmas holiday, so we have to postpone to January of 2021. I changed my medical plan this year and my new yearly deductible is $250, which is much less than last year so I expect my out-of-pocket expenses will change significantly. I sent the new medical insurance card to Suzi at the beginning of January and asked her to provide me the new financial estimate ASAP since I need to start my medication on the third day of my period(which is today). Then, she sent me twice new financial estimate and both of them has the exact same amount due with my estimate from last year. And on all new estimate my deductible is still $4,500. They also told me that's the estimate they had verified with my insurance provider. I really doubt it so myself called Anthem Blue Cross. Anthem told me it's their practice to record every call they received about the verification of my insurance information, the last call Anthem received about my account is in the October of 2020. In other words, Suzi and the billing department has never called my insurance company to verify the new numbers. Instead, they lied to me said they already verified and asked me to pay them 6k before my next week ultrasound. Even I emphasized again and again in my emails that I need to know the right number before tonight because I should start my procedure tonight, they still don't care and told me she is getting off work. I asked the case manager what should I do, she said sorry you have to postpone again. Come on, I am turning 40 years soon, it has been since last summer until this winter, how many months can a 40-year old woman wait? Plus they also messed up my boyfriend's medical insurance so we had to pay cash first for his semen analysis and RSC said they would refund us cash, and "this kind of situation has happened many times before". Because of Suzi and their billing department nightmare, I decided to either switch a doctor(because she is in charge of one doctor's patients, if I switch to another doctor, I can avoid her) or even switch to another clinic. I hope everyone before you choose RSC bay Los Gatos Office, ask who would handle your financials, please avoid Suzi as possible as you can and be very careful about your bills because they either trying to charge you more or forgot you already sent them your boyfriend/husband medical insurance card! read more

I am writing this review because I saw a different review saying they only care about the money and nothing else. That is so far from the truth. Also about the billing ... they could do a better job at that but what they lack at the billing they make up for in knowledge. We chose RSC because we wanted a baby and we got one. We want more and we are going to go through them again. My wife and I are actually going through some very emotional times. After everything going so perfect with our first child through Rsc we came back to have our second child (last embryo). Dr homer attempted to explain to me nicely that maybe we should consider doing a whole new Ivf procedure instead of using the embryo we had because of the slightly less chances of this one making it but we insisted on taking our chances and boy was that a mistake. I wish I could go back in time and actually remember that I know nothing about reproduction and dr homer knows best. To any patients out there in a similar situation please listen and take dr Homer's suggestion. Nothing hurts more than a miscarriage after all the injections and medication and preparing for the baby. It seems like my wife was 8 months pregnant not 3 because of all the work and trouble she has had to go through. Everything seemed to be going so perfect too. I was receiving more erroneous and extraneous and false bills on monthly basis so i actually asked for billin personnel to send me a typed and signed letter clearly stating that my balance has been cleared and should have been zero balance for past 6 months. Less than a week after receiving the signed letter i received yet another false bill. Lmao!!!! Ten yrs from now I probably will still be getting incorrect and false bills asking for more money. Horrible place for infertility treatment. Very bad bedside manner. They charged me upfront, cash price for 1 IVF cycle with PGT testing over 20k. They collected 10 of my eggs but ended up with zero embryo (that means the embryo biopsy and the embryo transfer never happened). The Dr did not explain to me what happened or what she will do to improve for the next cycle, instead pushing me to go for another cycle? (Of course I'm not coming back there). I found a place in Irvine ( Orange County) called LIFE ivf, they offer 20k for a package of 3 IVFs + PGT testing + medications + 1 year embryo freezing. You can also have your mornitoring at you place and just come to LIFE ivf center for eggs retrieval. Back to RSC, after 6 months, I called them and asked for a refund since the embryo biopsy and transfer never happened ( they already charged me upfront for that). They refunded me just half of the amount it's supposed to be. If I did not call them, they would never refund me. If only there was a zero star option! Thankfully, the doctor with whom my wife and I initially dealt is leaving RSC in a few months. Maybe that's why she had no bedside manner, was condescending, and did not seem attuned or empathetic to our fertility journey--she was on her way out. Regardless, RSC functions like a puppy mill: get as many vulnerable people into the clinic as possible, overload them with information, up-sell them on IVF, take their money, and repeat. Trust me when I tell you, you will feel like a number and not a human being. My visits to RSC were some of the most degrading experiences of my life, and I am part of a minority group! The departments do not appear to communicate with each other (from the doctors to billing and beyond); and thus, RSC runs in a very inefficient manner. Aside from the initial visit, you will have no contact with your actual doctor. That's right, the person who is supposed to have all this fertility expertise does not care to interact with his or her puppies--I mean patients. RSC claims to be LGBTQ friendly, but they are not. Not only were my wife and I treated as separate people, rather than as a legitimate family and couple, the staff mixed up our medical information, including charts, more than once. This does not build confidence in RSC being able to transfer the correct embryos or sperm or anything really if they so carelessly mix up files of gay people. The staff also never once asked us how we wanted to be referred to--calling us partners nonstop even though we are married and said we refer to each other as wives--but called the straight couples husband and wife without a thought. Currently, we are dealing with being financially gouged by RSC. Be warned, this is probably RSC's biggest area of corruption. They are ever so happy to swipe your credit card, but do not provide you with itemized receipts or the insurance claim breakdown. After calling my insurance company, I realized that RSC was trying to get money from us that our insurance company already paid to them. In addition, RSC told me a procedure was not fully covered by insurance, when in fact, the procedure was 100% covered and I should not have paid any portion out of pocket. If you want an impersonal, money-gouging fertility experience, RSC is the place. If, however, you want a compassionate, positive, ethical, and informative family building experience, look elsewhere. UPDATE: RSC is utterly incompetent and clearly homophobic. My wife received yet another faulty bill in the mail today after RSC claimed to have removed this amount from our account and "cleared things up." The newest bill we received says that we are "past due" and that "collection efforts" will be next. Our insurance already paid RSC for the procedure in full (I sent them evidence already). We do NOT owe RSC any money. I had the exact same procedure using the exact same insurance and our insurance covered the entire cost. Is it really that hard to figure out because we are a two women family?! Apparently, RSC is fine committing unethical and fraudulent actions against people of the LGBTQ community. Unfortunately, our experience with RSC was terrible. Our nurse manager, Judi, never responded to us in a timely manner and didn't seem like she cared much about our success. She was rude and not very friendly. The billing department is TERRIBLE. We paid in full, however, months later would get random bills (for thousands of dollars). Every time we received a bill I would call and they would eventually reverse it because we obviously didn't owe them anything. But the stress of receiving an enormous bill every few months was there. Our experience was that they do really treat you like a number. After our first failed IVF attempt the doctor told me we probably wouldn't be able to use my husbands sperm and i should use donor. After that conversation over the phone I decided to look elsewhere. I found Doctor Aimee Eyvazzadeh and she was amazing. We got pregnant our first round and now have two beautiful (biological) babies. If you're looking to do IVF please do your research in this facility. You are going through enough stress and need someone who cares about you and your success. read more

Pregnant on the 1st try at age 42.5 with my own eggs. Need I say more? We went with them because they had the best stats. I didn't care that they have a lot of clients to process--I consider that a plus, their considerable experience. I thought they were all personable, especially my very nice doctor. My case was a little unusual and all the doctors in the clinic discussed my case in their weekly round tables (again, a good thing). I was given good advise and now I've a milk vampire keeping me up at night. Doing fertility treatment is super stressful--all the waiting and uncertainty. Odds are, you will not get lucky like me (especially at my age). You will more likely fail, but at least for me, I gave it a try and was willing to go 3 rounds if needed and got lucky in the first round. One nice detail is they will work with your body's timing versus forcing it on their schedule. I think this is valuable, not being on birth control too long just fit the doctor's schedule. If something lands on the weekend, you go to the mothership (east bay) to do the procedure. Thank you Dr. Wachs and the team for my newest addition to the family. I love him so much! read more

Forever grateful. My beautiful 17 month baby girl and I are putting coins in her piggy bank. Too adorable and priceless. Baby just pointed at the picture of Dr. Wachs and said "Mommy". Funny. 'Nope but that's who made you possible'. Thank you Dr. Wachs and RSC technology for our miracle baby. I had 7 years of heartbreak trying to make a baby. Month after month, I regretted putting my career first, delaying marriage, feeling empty about life's purpose. Familiar? We spent tens of thousands of dollars on medical assistance. With Kaiser, I had a terrible IVF experience with a Dr. without any bedside manner who was always rushed, impatient, and stern. Dr. Wachs from our first meeting was caring, meticulous and attentive. She was never condescending. I always felt welcome to ask all the questions I needed answered. With so much emotional commitment, I needed that. Pregnant at 45 years old. From day 1, I found the service at RSC to be sloppy and unprofessional. The doctor gave a high level, impersonal overview of my procedure, and said that the nurse (who was not on-site) would call me to set up a time to talk to explain further details about the procedure, medication, and schedule. The nurse didn't call me; instead she sent me an email with confusing instructions with zero context. I had to play a guessing game of figuring out what questions I needed to ask in order to get information I needed to plan when to schedule my procedure and lab work. Then I was told to watch 10 instructional videos, many of which repeated the same information, and not all of which was relevant to my situation. For a $15k procedure, you would think that a medical professional could have explained this info to me in person instead of sending me home to watch videos. I also didn't realize that I'd have to take another morning off work to go back to the facility again for injection training (even though 5 videos covered that) and go to a completely different facility in a different city with a different doctor for the procedure. Every time I asked a question, I felt like I got a standardized answer that wasn't tailored to my health history or needs, but was the generic answer based on the average person's experience. It was clear from some of the email responses I got that the people at the facility didn't bother to even look up what procedure I was getting. The final kicker, and the reason I'm not spending $15k at this place is because even after I told them I wanted to put my procedure on hold, they ordered thousands of dollars worth of medication that got billed to my insurance. When I told them this, I got an email saying "that normally doesn't happen." I spent an hour on the phone with my insurance company trying to reverse the charges, and I asked how I got billed for this medication in the first place. They said the doctor ordered it. This practice seems to view patients as dollar signs and not as individuals. If they can't figure out how to give a higher quality of personalized service, and figure out basic administrative tasks, there is no way I or anyone else should trust them with a fertility treatment. read more

I highly recommend RCS and especially the amazing doctor Homer. I can't thank doctor Homer enough and feel lucky that we choose him as our fertility doctor. We were 33 and trying to conceive for 1.5 years when we came to our first consultation with doctor Homer. He was extremely personable, patient, positive, knowledge and direct, as he laid out all the options and statistics. We've decided to go for IVF and a few months later I was pregnant with my now 17 months old awesome daughter. All through the process doctor Homer was supportive and really felt like he cares. He got to know each of us, what we care about, what we fear, what is important to us, and made sure to put us at ease and even laugh through the whole process. It's funny but if someone would ask me to describe my IVF experience I'd say it was much easier than expected and I even enjoyed it. A little over a year after our daughter was born we came back to doctor Homer for our second baby. I came to see Dr. Wach's about a year ago after 3 years of trying to conceive. I can't say enough wonderful things about her, the office, the staff and our whole experience! While I would not wish the infertility journey on anyone, I can say, RSC made this process as smooth as possible. The receptionist at the front takes the time to learn each patients name and greets you like an old friend each time you visit. My nurse/ case manager was Judi, and she was so wonderful! She was great with all of my questions and so understanding! She is super fast with email and would usually respond to my messages within minutes. Dr. Wach's was so caring and understanding of all of my concerns. She never made us feel rushed and always made sure we left with a clear plan in place and on the same page. She was very personable and genuinely cares about her patients. Our journey was not an easy one, and it took us 4 tries to eventually become pregnant, but each time Dr. Wach's had new ideas of different approaches, which eventually led us to success! She was also very kind and comforting on those cycles that didn't end the way we had hoped. Everyone in the office was so friendly and personable and took the time to get to know us and made us feel so comfortable. While going through this process we also got to know Lindsey (a case manager) and all of the doctors. We were never disappointed, and each of them were incredibly knowledgeable and had wonderful bedside manner. We absolutely LOVE RSC! I have sent some of my friends to them and we will definitely be back to try for baby #2! I would whole heartedly recommend them. read more

This review is about their billing department... absolutely awful and very difficult to work with. Just like other users have said, even though my services with them concluded over a year ago, they kept on sending bills. They explained to me these were "residual" bills that were not invoived and were outstanding, even though I had set foot in their facilities or contacted them in a year. I did not want to argue, so I clearly asked them if there was anything beyond these bills... and they said clearly "No". So, I gave them my credit card and pay offed everything. Three months later, I get a collection notice from a debtor saying they were out to collect a bill that I did not pay. Puzzled I called RSC and asked for an explanation. As it turned out, there were more "residual" bills. I asked why would they send me straight to the collection agency instead of contacting me. They said they attempted to contact me but could not... excuse me, you have my phone number and address and I never ever got a bill! Since this was an issue with the collector, I decided to pay it and futhermore, I declared... I want to end any services with RSC and pay whatever bills are outstanding. They said find and again, I gave my credit card. I thought that was the end of the story... not even close. Just this week, I got another note from a collector saying I owed money to them again. And once more, I did not hear from them on any bills before this happened. I am truly disappointed at this and simply cannot recommend their services to anyone. They are very unprofessional and they come up with bills and charges that customers are not informed upfrong. So be careful with them! read more

All right, chances are if you end up here it's not because you want to, but because you need to. Already, the relationship between you as the patient and RSC as the provider is off to a rocky start, not to mention that infertility is one of the biggest stresses a couple can go through. I fully acknowledge this, as well as the fact that RSC did not cause my infertility, BUT that being said, they were inconsiderate, inconsistent, at times extremely rude and when my coverage changed to Kaiser I was oh so happy to leave and let me tell you why dear Yelp user: Doctor: I will start with a positive and that was my doctor, Dr. Homer. I would give him 5 stars all by himself. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, personable, and was the first doctor to correctly diagnose me with PCOS, a diagnosis that took almost 2 years to reach. If you go here, see Dr. Homer. Finance: Unfortunately, that's where the positively of this place ends. You as a patient are assigned a care team that include finances, services, and a manager, which in theory sounds good but in actuality is a freaking nightmare. I called and emailed my financial counselor Corinna Valencia MULTIPLE times and never received an answer, not once in six months. How is that possible?! This is also a nice segue to warn you about being extremely conscientious about money. Despite the fact that our insurance covered some of the procedures, RSC made it near impossible for us to use insurance. They only wanted us to pay out of pocket, never once contacted our insurance (they lied to our face & said they did), and three months after the initial visit and paying out of pocket, we discovered that RSC also received payment from our insurance and NEVER told us or reimbursed us! OUr insurance had to tell us that. If that isn't shady, I don't know what is. As if this wasn't bad enough, the final straw was us going in for an ultrasound and then discovering after the appointment that it cost $420 and no one told us how expensive that procedure was going to be. Obviously taken aback, my husband and I were escorted into a back room where a financial counselor informed me that I would have known the cost if I had logged onto my patient portal, which I apparently hadn't done in months. At that point, I laughed in her face and told her I was on my portal constantly and was even on it the night before, so exactly how did she get the time span?! They just lie to you and they do it constantly. Manager: Judi Mecchella-Pacheco. Dear god Judi. This woman was beyond rude, made me cry on the phone once (and I am NOT a crier!), even talked over me on the phone and wouldn't let me talk, and another time was too busy to talk to me that she had someone else on the phone to talk through to me. Can you believe that? She was there, in the room, I would ask a question, the woman would relay it to Judi, and Judi would answer the question (in the most condescending fashion possible) because apparently she was too busy to actually hold the phone! How degrading and dehumanizing that she couldn't even acknowledge me as a person and or recognize the importance of my questions? I'm only dropping tons of money on your practice, but please continue to treat me like garbage. If I ever came face-to-face with Judi, the interaction would not be pretty, but I simply cannot believe what she did to me and not once, or twice, but repeatedly. I don't know why she's working here or with people period. In summary, this place was brutal and will make you want to rip out your hair for so many different reasons. Infertility treatment is never going to be pleasant, I know that but RSC will make that process unbearable for you. That was my experience for 6 months there and now I have been with Kaiser for the last 7 months and the care and attention I have received there far surpasses RSC. If you are given an option on your insurance, I highly recommend you making the switch ASAP. read more

I first contacted RSC back in October of 2018. I emailed them three times and never got a response. That should have been my first sign. However, I still persisted and was able to sign up for a class in February of this year ( I only continued to pursue RSC b/c it was highly recommend by my OBGYN). After the class, I again followed up with an email and to no avail I got no response. When I attended the class the officer manager explained they had lost staff but now that a month has passed by since I attended the class and sent my follow up email with no response as of yet, I would definitely not recommend this place. If there was a no star "zero" option, that would be my selection. Thankfully, my OB also suggested two other locations and I am now pursuing one in PALO ALTO. This review has been a long time coming. I was a long time patient, and I can say my road to success wasn't an easy one. It took us several rounds of IVF, a couple of losses but I'm happy to say I gave birth to our baby girl just a couple weeks ago and she is perfect. Dr. Homer and nurse Kacey were our care team and honestly we couldn't have made it through this crazy journey without them. My body just wouldn't do what it was supposed to I felt like 99% of the time, but I was determined to one day have a baby to hold in my arms. I honestly felt like Dr Homer shared the same goal and wanted to see us through to success. He kept encouraging, adjusting treatment plans to find what would work for me and never giving up hope with us. Kacey was amazing for me, I feel like she became a friend and someone I could be so REAL with on the daily emotional struggles of infertility. Since my road to motherhood was a bit long I did have the pleasure of meeting with most of the Drs at RSC for either a surgery or a procedure of sorts. They were all SO GREAT I always felt like I was in good hands no matter who was "on duty" for the day. I have referred three friends/family to RSC and all three have beautiful healthy babies of there own. Thank you Dr. Homer and RSC for making my dreams of becoming a mother come true! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about the RSC. The entire staff at Los Gatos location is wonderful... I worked with Dr. Wachs for 8 months and I can truly tell you that she is the best doctor you will ever find. She is so caring, brilliant, and will explain every single detail to you so you understand her. I wish she could be my doctor for life.. truly one of a kind. She not only preformed two surgeries on me, but also got me pregnant via IUI. I never had an issue with billing (this says a lot since I have Tri Care). If I need another fertility treatment later on, I will be running back to RSC Los Gatos and Dr. Wachs! I will need another surgery in a few years and I won't go to anyone else... I will have Dr. Wachs perform. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment here... you won't regret it. I was referred to this place by my insurance. My primary physician was Dr. Sara Reid and my case manager was Laura. I had absolutely wonderful experience through all my journey. Sara and Laura made me feel so much comfy, done all the procedures, tests, provided me all the important information, gave me a lot of attention and answered all my questions, returned all my calls. All my appointments were on time. The IVF is not easy at all, but when you under the care of professionals, it makes you feel so much better. I was sure all the time that I am in a great hands. For the surgery and embryo transfers i was visiting another facility at San Ramon and stuff there were amazing too. I am currently first time mom, after so many years of TTC. Thank you my Dr. Sara and Laura for making our dream came through. Thank you all the stuff at the clinic, you are my angels. read more

RSC Bay area is great. I am so glad I selected them for my IVF journey. I graduated from there this week and the process could not have been any better. All the staff are amazing. My doctor was doctor Hinckley and my case manager was Shanda. Dr. Hinckley is awesome, super knowledgeable, and caring. She selected the best protocol for me and recommended all the right things which made the process a success. She cares about the patients and only recommends things that are necessary. She also did my mock transfer, my transfer, and first OB US and I had the best experience during all of them. Shanda is awesome and super caring too. She was there and supported me throughout the process. Every time I had a question or concern, I could reach out to her and she would get back to me within a couple minutes or hours based on the critically of the issue. Dr. Weckstein did my egg retrieval and Everything turned out great. I want to thank everyone at RSC Bay area who made this journey a seamless and successful journey for me. My acupuncturist suggested RSC because she had heard good things about it, and she was right. I was distressed because of a failed attempt and a rather unpleasant experience at another IVF center, but switching to RSC and thinking of the drive there was also discouraging. We are so happy that we went to RSC. From day 1, we felt welcomed and at home. They billed insurance as much as they could (unlike the other IVF facility). They even saved me some driving by allowing me do my lab tests where I live. We saw doctor Homer. He is very professional and nice, and his amazing attention to detail makes you think he would make a great detective if he wanted to do so!! I was 43, with a wrong FSH level for making a good egg for a baby. It is hard to accept the reality, but Dr. Homer opened my eyes and did it with such honesty, clarity and sympathy that really changed the course of my life. I wanted to be a mom since I was 14 and I finally became one at 44. I highly recommend RSC and Dr. Homer. read more

I've been procrastinating this review as it's a real stressor for me, but need to warn others in the vulnerable situation of infertility. I previously had a successful pregnancy at a different clinic, but for our second child, my company switched insurance to Progyny (also a headache to work with), so we came to RSC. I wish we hadn't. RSC is helpful in the beginning, a quick appointment, but quickly goes downhill. We did an IUI in December 2018, which was unsuccessful. It happens; it took me a few tries for my first as well. That's not necessarily their fault. What was their fault was our January IUI failure. We had moved to the Sacramento area, but I was driving down to the bay area to avoid switching clinics and restarting at another clinic. I had previously had weekend appointments at RSC so that was ok. For the January IUI, they had me come in Friday to check my follicles for the procedure. They were not large enough. As in December, I should have come back in 2 days, on Sunday. Instead the sonographer had me come back Monday for convenience of office hours. Dr Homer called me Monday afternoon and said the follicles were already starting to collapse. He asked me if I wanted to move forward. I told him I would defer to his judgment because he is the doctor and in my desperateness to get pregnant, my decision would be more emotional than logical, so if he thought it could work, then sure. He scheduled me for Tuesday at 2pm. I asked the nurse if that was too late for success because my follicles are already releasing. She told me she thought the same thing and asked the dr about it, but he said okay anyway. Obviously this IUI was never going to work, and I feel taken advantage of. That cycle cost me $2400. Insurance said I could pay RSC directly if it might be cheaper because Progyny insurance does a bundle price, no matter how much or how little work is actually done. But low and behold, all I want is a price quote, and now RSC refuses to call me back or message me back, despite multiple voicemails and messages. I just wanted to know what they would charge me. They got their money from insurance, so they no longer cared about me and my family. May 2020 and I'm still paying off this procedure. Over $5000 to a clinic that never helped me. I came to a different clinic near Sacramento. I've paid all my bills with the Sacramento clinic at this point, and now I am at the park with my now 4 month old baby. No thanks to RSC. Avoid them. Lack of transparency and communication, decisions based on charging the patient not success of pregnancy. And to the ladies hoping to be mamas that may be reading this, hang in there. If I can give them 10 stars I would. Our 2nd child helped by Dr. Homer and the office was amazing, in and out, using our frozen embryo that was saved from our last procedure. All we had to pay for was the embryo transfer fee. This time we will be having a girl, due in July this year. We can't thanks to Dr. Homer and everyone there enough. My experience was a little different from most women as I was not trying to conceive. Instead, I wanted to preserve my fertility for a time when family planning does work for me. Being that I am 38, I was a little worried that egg freezing wouldn't be an option. However, I had a terrific experience with Dr. Homer. Horrible. I have never felt more like a number or statistic. I came with all the hope in the world, but once the doctor looked at test results and realized I wasn't a high probability of success they couldn't get me out the door fast enough. Every thing they said they would do to follow up, they didn't. I was told I would get a call from someone, I didn't. I had to call to check in and was told they would follow up soon, they didn't. I left there with no hope at all and a few hundred dollars spent on an ultrasound for nothing. I have now gone to Nova where I am being treated like a person. read more
