I came here for Dr. Heidi Fu's AHA BLS-CPR class (with AED training). She helped guide me and a friend and we were able to get our licenses in under 2 hours! She offered a great amount of of help and advice as she examined our skills. I had done my AHA BLS elsewhere 2 years prior, but Dr. Heidi Fu really helped bring me and my friend up to date on the latest CPR practices (noting the changes between the 2010 rules and 2015 rules). Dr Fu is a crook. She insisted I pay cash for my first treatment; I have full coverage for acupuncture in my health care insurance. She stated review my coverage and advised I had not met my deductible. Given I was anxious to get relief I showed up to my appointment before confirming the status. Later that day, I confirmed with my insurance that I indeed met my deductible both in network, out of network, and for any acupuncture treatment(s) up to 20 visit/year. Dr Fu now advised that it is "her" deductible that needs to be met. I'm sorry but that is NOT how it works Dr Fu. I do not recommend this business practice and worry for anyone coming in to see her. read more

A few years ago I started experiencing chronic numbness and tingling in three fingers on my right hand which my primary doctor thought was carpal tunnel. So she sent me for xrays and my carpal tunnel was fine so over a period of time she had me go to two different physical therapists for six weeks, had me wear both soft and rigid braces on my hand at night, recommended I take CBD gummies, had a compounding pharmacy prepare a topical cream for my wrist (which was extremely expensive and not covered by insurance!) sent me for a nerve conductivity test and prescribed both nerve and anti inflammatory medication. None of those things did ANYTHING to alleviate the chronic numbness and tingling in my fingers! At that point I decided to try acupuncture as a last resort as I had had acupuncture treatments several years ago for sciatica and that pain has never returned! After 8 sessions with three different acupuncturists with still no change at all I happened to discover Dr Fu online and what a happy accident that has turned out to be! At my first treatment I told Dr Fu all of the above and how desperate I was at this point to find some relief. She told me she has treated this kind of symptom before and was fully confident in her ability to alleviate my discomfort and pain. I started a 10 treatment program and after only a few treatments I could already feel the decrease in numbness and tingling and was eventually able to start using ALL my fingers to open cans and jars and even hold my curling iron. Dr.Heidi Fu has helped me with 3 areas. I originally come in suffering from severe lower back pain. I pulled a muscle helping a friend move a large color TV. It was so uncomfortable before my first visit, I could not sit beyond 30 minutes and get out of bed. After my first visit to Dr. Fu I had regained most mobility and after the second visit was back to 90%. A week later I was 100%. Next, I have suffered from "dry eye" for many years. The optometrist prescribed dry eye oils. I have been seeing Dr.Fu for the past month and her treatment has been very effective. I no longer need to use oil to sooth my eyes. Dr. Fu is great! I had never experienced acupuncture before late last year. I caught a very bad cold and pulled a deep muscle in my back while coughing. My western medicine friends told me to try acupuncture - either that, or I would be taking Advil for the next 6 weeks. I was in so much pain - I couldn't sleep or sit - everything hurt. I called Dr. Fu in the evening and she explained that she would use gentle needles, and she reassured me that she could help. She even stayed open late that evening for me - I got to her office at 8pm! In 3 sessions, I was completely better - NO BACK PAIN at all! On a positive level, she goes out of her way to accommodate client's schedules. She attempts to match her patient's needs; she seems to believe in Chinese medicine. On a less positive level, she talks a great deal about Chinese mythology and unproven hokum, such as red and other symbols bringing good luck. When trying to get help with a medical problem, her belief system got in the way of her being credible as a practitioner. In addition, her prices are significantly higher than other acupuncturists. I started seeing Dr. Fu this year when my seasonal allergies kicked in causing me to sneeze a lot. I sought alternative medicine since the usual OTC medications caused me to lose concentration at my work (dry mouth and loss of focus). Heidi suggested an herbal medicine as an alternative which turned out to be surprisingly effective and without the side-effects of my OTC medicines. After that, I decided to try full-on acupuncture with Heidi which helped to open my sinuses without any medication at all. Heidi explained the procedure to me in detail and it ended up being virtually painless in spite of the locality near sensitive nerves in my face. Update: I recently had a bout with really bad strep throat and was in immense pain. I was already on painkillers and antibiotics, and decided to try acupuncture as well. Once again I was pleasantly surprised with how effective the treatment was, instantly helping to relieve the pain from my swollen throat and tonsils. My only feeling after just ONE treatment with Dr. Fu? PAIN FREE!!!! I have degenerative disk disorder at 31 - meaning that so far, the disk between two of my lower back vertebra has basically dried out and now it's bone on bone action resulting in intense lower back and hip/leg pain that I am forced to deal with DAILY and have been for the past few years. My options? Pain management or surgery. At 31, major spinal surgery didn't sound like something I'm up for, and I heard about Dr. Fu from my mother (Dr. Fu cured her frozen shoulder and helped with eliminating fluid from a knee injury) and thought I would give it a try! I went to Dr. Fu for the first time last week and after only one acupuncture session, I was actually pain free for the rest of the day, a feeling I hadn't felt in years, even with massive doses of over the counter pain meds. While I'm just at the beginning of my treatments with Dr. Fu, what I CAN say is that she is professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and made my first time acupuncture experience not only completely pain-free, but also so relaxing that I nearly fell asleep during treatment! But by far the best benefit was being pain free for the rest of the day. My pain has since returned, but she has assured me that with twice-weekly treatments, the amount of time I will be pain free will only increase. I have been seeing Dr. Fu for my sleuth of health issues, since January 2011. I ardently appreciate her bedside manner in taking great interest and care of my illnesses. She has already managed to aid with menopausal symptoms (and I believe will relieve them); as well as convincing me that TCM (traditional chinese medicine) benefits each body system/meridian in relation to one another; contrary to many western doctors (whom simply mask symptoms and ask innocuous questions). I took CPR COURSE needed every 2 years here. I decided to take this course from this instructor since she got one 5 star on google review. No else has posted on Yelp about the cpr part. I called her office and asked her admin how much the course would be and she said $80. I had called another cpr course that is listed here on Yelp with a lot of 5 star ratings and only do CPR type courses at their facilities and they too charge $60 or $80 with a 2016 version book (if you don't bring one). I decided on this one bc it was a lot closer to me. Big mistake! Once I arrived she told me it would be $85 and I said her admin had said $80. When she saw that I was going to leave she haggled like we were in Asia. I paid $65 and she insisted on cash since she didn't even provide me any booklet! She emailed me an online book while I was taking the course. I checked my email when I got home that she sent it to me while I was watching the video. She makes you see the CPR video version from 2010 while she sees an acupuncture patient in the other room. So you are basically seeing an hour long video on your own. She goes over the info from the video with the dummy model afterwards. It was very boring and she was nit picking my demo skills. I have had to do these courses for a decade now and I have never had an instructor be so rude and unhelpful. You take a 25 question exam at the end and can't miss over 2 questions. She mixed up her English and didn't know what "incorporate" meant so she basically gave me the wrong info for one of the questions which I got wrong. The video and exam definitely don't coincide! You are basically on your own to figure out the correct answers and have to make educated guesses on a few. I asked for a receipt so I can have for my record to write off and to date she has given me the runaround about giving me one! I definitely would not recommend taking the CPR course here unless you like being bored and practically being self taught! I would never renew here either. I am taking my chances next time and going to the other courses offered in San Jose that have a lot better ratings on Yelp! Oh and the kicker it took me a week to get my card! So I had to go back another time and make an appointment to make sure she was going to be there! read more
