The Red Dragon was pretty decent but the other rolls we go were blah. Seems like the Sushi (rice) needed a different sugar:salt ratio.

This is my favorite Asian place in Morganton. Always clean and great staff. They will cook in a gluten free soy, which makes it amazing for those with gluten sensitivity. Always a stop while I'm in the area. read more

Things have greatly improved service-wise here. No more mix-ups, delays or annoying waiters. Everyone is polite, understanding and even went out of their way to get us out the door in time to catch our movie. I'm a fan of all the dragon rolls, the cucumber salad and of course the edamame. read more

If you want to wait an extremely long time for your food, you must try this place. If you don't mind them running out of what you've ordered, after waiting already an hour for your food, again, this is the place. Lastly, if you want staff that isn't the least bit concerned about your poor "dining experience", then this restaurant fits the bill! However, if you, like most diners, want good service, food served in a timely manner, and staff that actually care about their customers' satisfaction, this is one restaurant you should steer clear of. EATER BEWARE!!! First time ive eaten here definitely last. Service was decent but it took us over 40 minutes get are food once ordered my miso soup was pure soy sauce. The salad was full of brown lettuce l, once I finally got my sushi it had a fingernails worth of meat not only that but the eel was tasted of being out for a long long time and the salmon was clearer going bad. The freshest fish in the area and well worth the drive if you can over look a lack of ambience and spotty service. Having eaten there several times, we've found the fish to be consistently fresh; apparently a challenge to the competition as far away as Hickory. The seaweed salad is very good and the mushroom and miso soups are good though not inspiring. The veggie spring roll is nicely done with the taste of fresh basil predominate. The menu includes the usual "Western" tempura rolls in addition to veggie rolls and sashimi and nigiri fare of tuna's, salmon, eel, mackerel, octopus and shrimp as well as habachi selections served with carrot and fried rice. For a real treat we suggest you enjoy their Kiwi Coconut roll. Combinations, samplers and a kid's menu with beef and chicken are also served. If you are looking for an exotic culinary experience, Kin2Kin is not the place to go, but if your desire is for more familiar items prepared with fresh ingredients at excellent prices then Kin2Kin is just the ticket. read more

I really loved this restaurant for the exciting sushi rolls, and the great Japanese food. The great service was a plus too. But the first time we took our 2 year old son to the restaurant for dinner, we had the worst experience. They sat us in a terrible location, people were constantly bumping my chair, and the wait staff had to slide by me every 5 minutes and I had to constantly move my chair around. We ordered two hibachi plates and a corn sushi roll. We got the 2 hibachi plates right off, but the roll never came. I finally got tired of waiting and asked if they would remove the roll since we never got it. They did, and the manager even took 2% off the meal. But the new waitresses in the place were rude when we had asked about the roll, and even cut me off and rolled her eyes at me and my husband. We even tried again to go back after this horrible experience, and had just a terrible experience again. So I will never go here to eat again, but the food is good enough for takeout. read more

I love this place. The sushi was very good. We weren't sure what was good so Mary suggested that we try the octopus and the dragon roll. My wife is afraid of octopus and was quiet surprise by how good it tasted. The dragon roll had lots of flavor. We love sushi and kin 2 kin definitely is worth the money. Good people and good food. I ordered out from there. The caterpillar roll tasted like lake water. The volcano tasted like BBQ. The spider tasted just plain disgusting. They didn't put the edamame, or the spring rolls I ordered & paid for in our bag and then were rude when I called in to see what they could do about it. There is no way I would ever eat there again, nor would I suggest anyone else to. The drive to Hickory for Wild Wok is definitely worth it. Don't waste your time or money on this place. read more

I've eaten here twice. Both times the servers have been attentive and prompt. The sushi is wonderful! There is limited seating.... maybe three booths, four tables and a very small bar near the kitchen. I've never seen the restaurant full, so this hasn't been an issue. They seem to have a good customer base... I ate here once during lunch, the other time was at dinner about 7:30 or so and they had a good customer flow both times. I would recommend eating here, the prices are reasonable and the sushi is delicious. read more

I love their Sushi! I would go there just to drink their hot tea-so wonderful! Their other food is very good also. The only draw back is that the restaurant is so small. Very glad to see this in little 'ole Morganton. read more

Worst service in the area, the chefs did a decent job, but if you are not a minority do not expect to get served efficiently. My girlfriend was astounded at how awful the service has gotten we will make sure people know how rudely we were treated and we will not be returning ever again. The food was great but the wait staff was not anywhere near as good as the original wait staff. We had a table of five and 3 were regular customers. They agreed the service is not as good as it used to be but they love the food anyway, for me and my girlfriend it was just too bad, and yes the food was good, but it has to be the worst service in town read more

I thought this place was disappointing for some of their hot, Japanese cuisine however I thought they had AMAZING sushi!! I've eaten sushi @ Kobe in Hickory & in Asheville & it was great both places but I was more impressed by this place than either! They have "fusion" dishes & the Cherry Blossom was absolutely wonderful -- very fresh & FULL OF FLAVOR!! We also had one of their veggie creations & it was also very tasty!! Their egg rolls were great! They use turkey sausage which was pleasantly different!! Not sure if they were having an off day when Jennifer R. went there but our rice was an excellent temperature & the other complaint about the mayo on the sushi is moot, due to the menu listing what is included in the rolls. If you are particular enough about your food to not want an entire dish because of one included ingredient that you do not like, (& I myself am guilty of this from time to time..) then pay enough attention to the menu to see that that is how this particular restaurant prepares the dish & modify your order accordingly rather than criticizing the restaurant for your lack of attention to detail. At least this restaurant is considerate enough to tell you what is in their food.. The service was decent but could have been better however the price was very reasonable..especially considering their portions & they even have half price sushi on Sundays & Mondays!! :) I suggest Kobe in Hickory for hot, cooked, Japanese cuisine however I will DEFINITELY be back SOON for this place's sushi!! :D read more
