So I didn't actually go. I called to ask a question about my hair. If they could help me with something . The lady on the phone. Sounded older and extremely rude. I was in a accident and I have knots in my hair. I explained the situation and the lady said " we don't do that for free it will be around $30". I said " ok ". I know no-one will do it for free. Listening to clients booking for color then come in and make something other than what client wants and saying I don't have the time or bleaching a few times might work and saying cost $350 plus charges every little thing now when they didn't before. I didn't even get the chance to come in. I was going to go in there for a cheap trim on a recommendation of a friend. But the lady who answered the phone was rather curt, and on a hunch when I asked if they accepted credit cards or debit cards I was actually surprised to hear them say no. I'm curious what salon in this day and age doesn't accept a credit or debit card but will accept a paper check, which, if you've been in retail, you know is way more risky as a business practice. I'm not interested in looking older, I'd like a stylish cut, so I'm not going to go to a salon that's going backwards in time and doesn't seem to want new business. Some of us do not carry cash. Yesterday was the last time I will ever set foot in this establishment. Went in for a haircut Had to argue with the person with the scissors about my part line. She asked if where I had it parted was where I wanted it. I sad yes... She said "that's too low, it's not right" Then after she trimmed my neck she proceeded to use her hair dryer to blow all the trimmings inside my shirt. Have been going to Kim's for quite some time. Normally I tell the lady what I would like and my hair turns out pretty nice. Lately I tell the hair person what kind of cut I would like and each time I get home my hair is never cut the same way. It seems she is distracted by who comes in the door or how many customers does she recognize. This last cut I asked her to layer my hair on the sides. I even said, ( I would pay more if it takes more time!!) I got done and my hair on my right side was chopped across the side and the left side was also sticking up. I commented that after I wash my hair it would lay better. Got home; looked in the mirror and I could see the right side of my scull in a big spot. My wife just laughed when she saw me. It looked like a BOWL was put on my head and my hair was buzzed off below it. Question: ( Don't you usually use a scissor's to layer hair)?? She used the clippers! Well, I am totally embarrassed at how my hair looks. My hair looks like a military WHITEWALL!! Worst hair cut EVER!! If she doesn't know how to layer hair with the scissors, she should have told me. I only give this ONE star because that is the only way to leave a review. I went in to Kims Trims on 8/19/16 to set up an appointment for a haircolor/cut. Ann assigned me to Jeanine. Jeanine came over and looked at the photo of the color/cut I wanted and said "it looked like it would be fun to do." I was given an appointment for 8/22/16 at 9 am. I went in and everything seemed fine. I again showed Jeanine the picture of the hair color I wanted and she was all good with it. I also asked her to thin my hair as I have very thick hair and she insisted on layers. Anybody knows you don't put layers in thick hair. I told her I don't want layers in my hair....I know my hair better than this woman whom has never cut or touched my hair until now. After all, it is MY hair and I am paying for it. She gave me a full head of highlights, which turned out horrible and yellow because she only left them in for 20 minutes. I suppose I should have been nervous as she stated "if you don't like it you can always color over it." Then, after she got me in the chair, she proceeded to cut my hair in layers after I told her I did not want them. She took four sections and trimmed them, then proceeded to dry my hair. I didn't even get a decent hair cut. My hair is now a botched up mess that looks like someone took a weed eater and cut my hair. I went in on 8/23/16, to talk to Kim the owner and she not surprisingly snuck out the door and sat in her car in the parking lot. I explained to Jeanine that I was very upset with my hair as it was NOT what I showed her I wanted. She went outside to talk to Marsha. My son sat in the car and overheard Jeanine and Marsha talking outside about whether or not to refund my $85.00....Marsha said I didn't need a refund, and Jeanine paid my highlights were fine. Marsha came back in and rudely states that "Kim won't refund your money, but will give you 2 free hair cuts ($6.00 each) $12.00 is all they give for an $85.00 botched haircut/color?! My hair is a butchered mess, that is too short to have fixed elsewhere. I don't think it is their choice to say whether or not my highlights are fine. My hair is NOT what I said I wanted. These girls need to stick with the old folks and their "sets," because they certainly aren't educated for anything more. They have definitely lost my family's business! Kim....I always thought you were lacking in professionalism. After coming in and trying to get YOUR employee to make good on THEIR mistake, and seeing you sneak out and hide in your car, that just proved it! That's ok Kim and the rest of the bunch....maybe you can use that $85.00 and hire someone to come and clean that filthy salon. read more

If you only want a simple haircut go for this. If you want anything else don't. I was going to this place for years and I decided that pretty soon I'd be in a professional setting so wanted to get my hair colored like Rouge from XMen just blue instead of white. All they'd have to do is bleach and color the hair just around my face. Easy. I guess they just didn't like it (as in wouldn't want it themselves) and tried to say I'd have to pay over 80 dollars!
