It is a mini shop and can't offer the variety of the main store, but has enough onboard to keep things interesting. I was there this morning to pick up a light breakfast to consume at my Trenton office. Timing was perfect, as I walked in as the counter woman was carrying out a large open box of still warm rolls both sesame seeded and plain. Was a time I would devour these babies right out of the bag, because they were so perfectly textured and sour dough delicious. Recalling those grand old days, I ordered two seeded rolls with just a smear of cool butter, and a couple of brownies to share at work. Along with their better than decent Java, I contentedly bite into the first roll. The crisp shell gave way to the soft belly, with the butter adding a touch of flavor that mixed perfectly with the bread. An involuntary sigh escaped my lips. It was that eye-rollingly great. The brownie an hour later was dense with cake chocolate. Also, superb, and made my assistant very happy. This shop also makes sandwiches, but with a much shorter menu than Butler Street. If as good as the mothership, I am amazed that they haven't expanded to have room for the anticipated customer surge.

The gentleman behind the counter was very kind and patient trying to point to see what this customer wanted. They also tried to get the child they were with to translate and worked it out. I wanted to make sure I came to update my old review, because sometimes a "community favorite" does not welcome all people from its community" - but Ben's Deli does. (go read my first review, it still holds true) We usually come for breakfast and I love their breakfast sandwiches and platters. I also love that they come with strong coffee and everything is reasonably priced. Don't forget to get some baked goods too - the $1 pumpkin cake slices are our favorite!

The cheese and sauce were decent, very stringy and thick cheese, not very greasy (good thing), sauce was a bit bland, the dough/crust was fresh, had a great crack to it, but flavor wise it was boring, tasting bready like a plain sandwich roll. I added plenty of red pepper flakes and oregano to kick start the sauce. Overall I think the pizza was OK/average, there was nothing terrible about it, but certainly nothing distinctive that would make me go out of my way to have it again. I heard a lot of people come in and order Chicken Cheesesteaks while I was there, and didn't notice many pizza's going out the door. A couple was enjoying some hot entrée/pasta dishes at a table nearby. Maybe that's the way to go here. The people working there all seemed nice so that's always a plus!

We ordered (2) pizzas and they took a bit to come our since they had a rush as we got there but it wasn't too long. Their pizza is typical Trenton style, thin crispy crust, cheese on the bottom with dollops of sauce on top. I've lived in PA since I was 7 but prior we lived near Washington's Crossing on the NJ side an most of our family is from Hamilton. Every time I get a chance to have some Trenton Tomato pie it brings back memories grabbing some with my grandparents off of Klockner Road. I definitely put this location towards the top of my list but PaPa's is still #1.
