I was referred to this place before but never really took the offer as I'm a creature of routine and familiarity. After a long day of shopping and errands and feeling haggard from this cave woman of hair...... I just decided to walk in! WAIT .. let me rewind. I actually walked into another salon before this place and they actually turned my business don because they were understaffed. I was bummed but then I remembered "Making Changes" anyway.. as I was saying... Walking in I'll admit I was a bit timid, like I said.. I don't like new places. There was 2 ladies already working on clients and after being rejected once I was expecting the same reaction... but NO.. I was welcomed as a walk in! :) Jewels.. (or Julieanne as I was referred to her as by a coworker) greeted me and had me wait about 30 minutes while she was finishing up with her current client. I thought that was a long time .. that is until she worked on me.. and well I'll get to that. While waiting.. and with . Dollar Tree in walking distance.. I got 10 items for $10... hahaha.. best deal of the day! But I digressed..... . Back to the Salon, I finally got my turn. I was a little embarrassed about my neglected hair but she was a sport .... and didn't poke fun. :) We talked about cuts and styles .. and I gave her the power to run with it. Her services was professional, personable and within budget! She did a complete hair wash, cut, blow dry and style for $35! She's also perfectionist! After she blow dries your hair, she checks her work and makes corrections (if needed) as she goes. I think thats what i like most about her. She loves what she does and you see it in her work! 8 inches of hair later, she gave my now shoulder length hair back its volume, sheer and layers of FUN! ... literally.. shes great with layers! She's works mainly with appointment only. If your lucky like I am, she'll take you as a walk in. cash/ personal checks only. I HIGHLY recommend to everyone out there! Now, please excuse me as I fondle my hair like a shampoo commercial :)

I came in for human hair micro braid at 8:30AM Friday morning and the ladies immediately got to work on my head. The shop was clean, easy to find, and next door to a cute little bakery. My style only took 5.5hrs to complete, which is impressive given the size of my braids. The two ladies who styled me, Flora and (I for the others name ) were very delicate with my head I actually fell asleep while they braided. Their website is easy to use and very user friendly. The site clearly details services offered, the approx time to complete, and starting price for all styles. The phone number listed is accurate and the stylist are very responsive to inquiries. Got a haircut from Tina so good last wkend that I can't *not* leave my first ever review about it…read more Yes, it's that serious! She seriously worked magic on my incredibly damaged, lengthy, thick, and heavy hair with ease and damn near healed my hair salon trauma forreal. I'd highly recommend this salon and Tina to anyone but especially to those with hair like mine (thick, coarse, dense/heavy, Filipino... lol). You also cannot beat their prices for the quality of the cut they give you!! (Rly long review ahead): I've dreaded hair salons since I was a kid and have largely continued to avoid them as an adult because 1.) stylists would often gripe about my very thick, coarse Asian hair, and/or 2.) often lack the skill and patience to cut my hair well. A lot of times they'd make it pretty clear to me I was inconveniencing and annoying them, almost as if cutting my hair was a burden. While I remember the ladies at Winnie's Cuts were very nice, basically every time my haircut was rushed and I'd leave feeling pretty apathetic about and bored with my hair. Once I got older and moved to a city where it was even more expensive to cut hair like mine, I started cutting it myself as I lacked faith/hope in salons and LA prices were too high for me to regularly justify. Last year a bad depression episode resulted in my hair becoming the most damaged it'd ever been. I continued to avoid the salon until it was beyond unmanageable and unsalvageable for myself to fix, until I finally decided to just bite the bullet and take a chance on someone a few months after moving back to the Bay. I was very nervous going into the salon, but Tina made me feel welcomed instantly and was so warm, personable, and kind. She was in the middle of cutting a male client's hair when I got there, but put me in a chair almost immediately. I noticed that she didn't rush the guy's haircut after I walked in and was very thorough with finishing up his hair, and I really respect and admire that! After she finished, I described to her the cut I wanted and showed some pics for reference, and she quickly started working her magic. She was very respectful about how thick and long my hair was, and that alone meant a lot. She's so nimble and cut my hair so beautifully with such ease and grace that it honestly left me in awe, lol. She did a phenomenal job at cutting my hair and got rid of so much damage while keeping a good amount of my length. I walked out of there so happy and with the best cut and experience I've ever had. Thanks to Tina, I finally get to love my hair again and the salon is no longer something that fills me with dread, but excitement. She's truly spectacular at what she does. This place will def be my go-to!! Thank you so much!!!

Fariba tried to upsell me on a conditioning treatment because my hair was very dry. I knew she was wrong because my hair is very oily but I let her go on. The treatment was $380 because my hair was very long. I told her it's too expensive. I wanted a regular shampoo and flat iron. She goes on posturing me about where I am was from, what I do for a living, if I bought a house, etc. I think this is the part where she decides what to charge you. I'm not saying Fariba is bad but it was shady that she tried to charge me $75 for a shampoo, chair dry, and flat iron. I told her-- no way. You charged me $40 last time and you didn't even condition twice. I think she tried to pull a fast one on me. So she said $50. I paid her $60 to be nice. Oh and she tried to say her credit card machine wasn't working and only accepted cash------ after my hair was done. Needless to say, I won't be back.
