After doing that Google thing searching for haircuts for men in Antioch, Haircuts HQ was the spot that piqued my interest the most. Then browsed through Yelp and satisfied myself from the reviews I read. The best part is I followed their instructions yesterday from their website calling them to see about their waiting list. I wasn't sure when I'd be free due to my girlfriend needed to be seen at Kaiser and she suggested since I'm waiting to take my chances with their waiting list availability and tried for 4:30 ish. But then she came out and was told her prescriptions would take 20 to 30 minutes. I called back to say her appointment was taking longer than expected, the gal on the phone was very understanding and suggested to schedule for today Saturday around 11am. I arrived this morning earlier than expected but the gal at the front desk said I'm next. Fabulous! I was then seated at Homa's station. She's very nice and listened to my concerns about not wanting the type of cut that seems popular these days with the shaved close-to-the-bone sides and I'm just not into looking like the masses and told her I trusted her suggestion. Well, I'm happy to say I'll be going back as a regular customer! Homa is a treasure, thank you so much! My girlfriend who usually seems disappointed at the cuts I've received from the different gals at Great Clips was quite pleased. I'm not talking down at Great Clips but too often a different person with minimal notes from prior cuts asking me which number for the clipper size which I never know, they never seem to educate me on the differences, and then go to scissors but each time its a different cut no matter what. The young lady on the phone was rude. I had asked for Homa specially. She said they were super busy and I couldn't get an appointment till Friday. I have been coming here for years with my family. We only trust Homa. Seems like the quality is suffering a bit in the customer service department. The last couple visits it like the atmosphere has changed. I don't leave reviews unless I truly believe it is necessary. 1. I arrived and the First Lady told me I had to wait another 25 minutes to be seen. 2. The lady that cut my daughters hair ended up doing the complete opposite of what I requested. My daughter already had walked in not wanting a haircut... which made matters worse for her. I asked if maybe she can blow and curl her hair, I don't know if she didn't comprehend what I asked because I only witnessed her air blowing her hair and MAYBE curling one side... which also seemed to me, that she didn't know how to do that. It took her less than 5 minutes and my daughter walked out with just her hair just plain.. no curls or anything.... Mind you, I paid 10$ more for that request. Lesson learned, just because they have availability and may seem may conveniently at the moment.... Just wait to see a good hair salon. read more

I came here with my son yesterday for his haircut since it was long overdue. My son has autism/ADHD so doing normal things scare him. Hong was there and she was very patient with my son. He did try leaving the salon a few times but with every question and concern my son had she patiently and happily explained things to him. We managed to get him on the chair and get his hair cut. I now have a son who is 6 and he also gets his hair cut here. That is 3 generations who all get their haircut at this great establishment. They take their time to get to know their clients individually and have a great clean, safe, and professional environment with skilled stylists. I normally like this place... BUT the quality of haircuts have decreased significantly over these past few times I've gone. Went in today to just one employee, whom had a backlog of people. I am grateful for her busting people out, however, I don't want a rushed haircut from someone who doesn't listen to your concerns and becomes defensive when asked about aspects of the haircut because they want to rush and their receptionists plan appointments terribly. Don't gaslight your customers when they have concerns, that's how you lose business. Also receptionist is visibly rude, no common courtesy and even a little thank you for giving them your $. Will never come back. I called earlier to confirm if they had Apple Pay and never made an appointment but gave an estimate of when I'd be there. I was slightly late and she continued to tell me I was late and had to wait.. I never made an appointment.... Employees may be too arrogant to care. This was my personal experience. read more

So I can't have this hair she said (it was just her excused because I ordered "like this photo" not "Exactly this") and she splashed with water on my face many times during the cut, and after the cut my clothes were full of hair and it was very itchy. I've been bringing my 3 year old son in for hair cuts for about a year and the service is great. Everyone is very welcoming, they have toys in the waiting area (which helps with the LO's) and walk-ins are always welcome. Today Alejandra cut his hair and I am more than pleased. I needed a last minute haircuts before the new year and this was one of the few places that were open on a Sunday afternoon near my area. Calling around a few local barbers, the pricing was $35 and up, which is a bit high for my budget but I'm sure worth it. When I called this place, I was greeted by a nice older lady who explains the different pricing and she even asked me when am I available and how soon do I want to get this done. I told her that I'd like to get this done ASAP, she said well you can wait if my appointment is running late, You can have her chair and I can't cut it rather quickly and smoothly your hair since it's a pretty straightforward buzz cut/shave (size 0 all around) I Soul to 15 minutes later and she greeted me at the counter. I immediately sat down for 20 minutes and had a nice conversation about vacation, holidays and family. Before you knew it I was done! She even offered to rinse and shampoo my hair at no cost, but instead I told her I was in a rush and gave her the five dollar tip and left.
