Had an appointment with Cindy, and I've noticed she's been having issues with punctuality. Have gotten there on time the last few times I've booked with her, but she's always been late and does take a little long to set up shop. I've actually never had a problem with her work, and have found myself coming back every single time. But the punctuality was definitely starting to get old now. The reason I'm giving a 1 star review, is because she over-processed my hair to the point where I've had to cut the length off by a lot now due to HORRIBLE breakage. I had an appointment with her in the morning, and she was 20 min late. I didn't mind this time, but I did tell her we needed to finish on time because I had work later on in the day. During the processing point, she took 2 walk in haircuts back to back. I started noticing time go by, and was concerned at how long I had the foil in my hair for. Mind you, I did tell her that I was on crunch time, as she kept getting sidetracked majority of the time, checking her phone a lot + the 2 walk ins. By the time she got to my hair, I was super super behind on time. I think she probably took over 45 min to check on my hair even though I told her I'm sure my hair was ready for the foils to be taken out. I reiterated to her that if she was going to take walk ins and be late to her booked appt, to have booked me for another time where she can really devote her time and effort, and not give a half effort. My hair as the days came, really felt like spaghetti. I literally cried cause I knew I was going to have to cut it due to severe damage. Went to another stylist to cut my hair and they told me I had to cut off a lot, and that my hair was in a super fragile state that needed deep treatment. I love Cindy but due to the horrible time management and lack of efforts in our last few appointments, I sadly don't think I'll be returning back, in fear of damaging my hair again to the point of no fixing. read more

I just love how I show Hong a picture of what I want and she never fails!!! She also does a great job if you're in that in between with gray transition. My cousin in law referred me to Hong, and after seeing the same stylist for years, I made the decision to try out somewhere much closer to home. It's always scary trying a new stylist, but Hong DID THAT! I am so happy with the results and I will definitely be back. Hong really knew what type of hair I had right from the beginning, and gave me product recs and ways to take care of my new hair. I'm also in my mid 30s with grays growing in, and we tried something new and blended my grays in rather than covering it up permanently. I visited this salon today for myself and two boys per the recommendation of a family friend. They were great to fit my boys in on a weeks notice and even made time for me also. I was more than willing to wait for an opening so I'm totally appreciative. If you have dark Asian hair, I highly recommend checking this place out. I haven't had a color treatment done is many years due to not ever being happy with the result. My hair ends up being brassy or orangey like an anime character. But I'm glad I took a chance to get some color done. The color turned out great. Mrs. Cindy was awesome. She took her time and really analyzed what she is working with before tackling the hair. One boy got their cut from Hong and another from Mrs. Cindy. They turned out awesome. Again, they really checked out what they're working with before cutting. My last trim elsewhere was not a good one; I even had to go back & get it fixed, & it still wasn't right so I'm always a little anxious when I get my hair cut. Hong was amazing! I recently moved close to the area and needed to get a hair fix and decided to check out this place to get a trim for my hair. I didn't quite catch her name, I believe maybe the owner she was the one that did my trim and I love my hair cut. Though I did have to wait almost half an hour to get my haircut even with my appointment. The haircut was pretty quick itself 15 mins I got layers and it's shorter she trimmed off about 4 inches. Then she decided to wash my hair and dry it and was almost going to stylet but since I was in a rush I opted out of that option. This is how much I love this place and Hong, I live in Berkeley and I come here to get my hair done...that is 50 miles (an hour drive, or 1.5 Bart + uber ride). I am so thankful that m BFF told me about Hong and I have never had anyone as good at hair styling. My hair has a bad habit of white hair in my 30's and Hong does such a good job taking care of those and the color and cut fit my skin tone and face so well. If the service isn't already the BEST, the price is SHOCKING. I have spent $300 salon and they do not get to the level of skill and results as Pro 2 Salon. I went to Tangles Salon yesterday for a supposedly haircut and Keratin treatment appointment (I made the appointment a week before to make sure I have it properly scheduled),, Lisa ruined and chopped my hair and cut short my appointment and asked me to be back after an hour to continue because she double booked and her next customer arrived--duh!,.. she literally ruined my hair! Before I came here Hong my hairstylist and I already had a conversation on how are we going to do my hair so I sent her a picture of my hair, so she could have an idea.
