Unresponsive. I just wanted a haircut and followed the instructions to send a current photo of my hair, as well as inspo for what I'd like to achieve, which is an odd request to say the least. However, I really wanted to give this local salon my business, so I send the photos. Didn't receive a response after 24 hrs. I sent a follow up response, still no acknowledgment. Thank goodness I wasn't holding my breath because I'd be dead and buried by now. Just for reference, I was not requesting anything complicated. I simply wanted a bob haircut. Honestly, the submission of photos as a prerequisite for first time clients was a huge flag. After submitting your initial photos the salon can then "determine if an in-person meeting is necessary". Jade, the owner, is an amazing hair stylist. I went to another stylist from downtown Brentwood who was a recommendation from another stylist. Long story short, she ruined my hair. Wow! Jade is freaking amazing! She is what every blonde dreams of! She is a perfectionist and she does magic on hair! I reached out to her for a consultation and she responded the same day! She called me and we talked for almost an hour after I sent her pics of my hair. She slid me in to a spot a month out (I would wait forever and a day for her)! Beware! I went here. This was the second time first time still had to go back to times to make my hair right thought I'd give another try. Most of the girls seem really good there, but there is one who I saw Allyssa do not go to her she said she has 11 years experience, sat for six hours either overprocessed my hair, but when I left my hair after six hours, sitting in a chair with toner after toner after toner, my hair was orange and gray. She was frazzled. Will never go back. My hair is everything and now it is destroyed. My scalp actually is burning. She processed my hair two times then put toner on it for four hours straight. Hands down the BEST salon in the East Bay! Jade has been my stylist for several years now, she is an absolute professional and takes care of you 100%. I currently live in Martinez and have been to several salons in my area (Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, etc..) and no one compares to Jade. She is an incredibly talented stylist who has an eye for making her clients look and feel their best. I can't tell how many times I've been stopped at the grocery store or at a social event by someone wanting to know where I get my hair done, she's just that good! **This is a review from 9/11/2013** I scheduled an appointment with Jade after seeing her work on FB and through my bestie and a couple co-workers. A little history about my hair "sitch" -- I have long, naturally curly hair--which some people either don't know what the hell to do with or try to convince me with a bunch of BS that they DO know. I didn't color it regularly because I liked my natural color. I've always let my hair grow super long and would only cut it when it was starting to get a bit unmanageable. Then I had my son and the grays started coming along. I would always go to Super Cuts or Great Clips when I needed a cut -- whatevs -- in & out! Then, a couple months ago, I got a gift cert for a salon in Petaulama. This guy jacked my hair up! (But that's a whole different review--Structure Salon BTW). So, I needed a fix and thought I'd give Jade a try. Anyway, I came into the shop and Jade greeted me right away (When she worked at Teazz). I didn't have to wait long at all. I was completely open to whatever she recommended, because I really like her work. She suggested high-lights and low-lights in warm, caramel tones. I asked if she thought red-ish would be good and she told me straight up that she didn't think it would look good with my skin. I really liked that because she is the professional and I don't know anything about doing hair! My appointment was about 3 hours for a cut & color (I have a lot of hair). I felt tended to and very welcome by her... and most importantly.... I LOVE MY HAIR! I really like what she did with it. It feels healthy and it looks healthy. I will definitely be re-booking with her, especially now that I'm at that point in my life where I'll need to touch-up the color regularly to keep those grays away!
