Absolutely love this store. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly and are always down for a little fun chat. Super cool inventory that is always getting updated so there are a lot of cool finds. This store really aligns with the fantastic community that is the west end read more

Rude, tough-looking sales guy with an attitude: THE perfect ingredient for WORST customer service ever! Seriously how did that guy end up here? He should work in the army, not in sales. I've been loving that store and shopping there for almost 10 years, but I'm sorry to say I can't set foot in there again. I'm trying to support small business as much as I can, but it makes me feel sick to give my money to such an obnoxious person. Good news is there are plenty of other stores in town that carry cute cards and quirky gifts. And for framing services, there is Fast Frame, a couple blocks up the street: will answer all your needs with a smile and uber friendly service. read more

Another sliver of a store on Denman, this time think socks and greeting cards, but don't stop just there. It's one of those stores that has all sorts of weird/cool little things tucked in all around the tiny shop. Looking for a fidget spinner? yep, they got those (altho isn't that fad now about five minutes ago?), how about some hot chili pepper undies? yep, or maybe a full rubber head of a unicorn? uh-huh, they got those too. It's on one of the more touristy streets in the city, so don't go looking for any kind of a deal, pricing tends to skew slightly higher, but if you're looking for that extra special card for your favourite aunt, this is the place to come. The staff is very helpful, from the owner down to all her employees. The only thing I cannot recommend here is the picture framing service. Apparently they outsource all their framing jobs, and that's never a good thing when there's a problem. But if you're in the market for cool socks or something with the word 'Vancouver' written on it, Kimprints is your stop. read more

I love this place, I'm not sure if it's because of their eclectic variety of cards, or unique gag gifts or because it's not part of a HUGE chain that is on every corner. Quaint neighbourhood place that I love to frequent when I'm in the area. The accept ALL credit cards which is great as well as many 'small' places only accept one or two credit card company's or operate as cash and debit ONLY, not this place! If you're looking for a card or something to hang on your wall check this place out. read more

Kimprints - Home Decor Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I love this little store! It has many whimsical items perfect for people like me who is clueless when it comes to getting something special as souvenirs from Vancouver. I only know I don't want to get something that says "Vancouver" loud and clear across the chest. I have been getting framed pictures, cards, handmade French ornate notebooks, some fun CDs, and small home decors which friends raved about. Stop by when you happened to be strolling around West End near English Bay. read more

Have been going to Kimprints since the late 1980's for all my framing needs, as well as art, gifts, gadgets and cards! Kim, the owner - is a truly genuine and fantastic person and has gone above and beyond for me over the years. A business with honesty and integrity - as well as a personal touch. Nice to be remembered and appreciated when you give someone your business. All the work she has done for me has been great. One of my big wall prints fell off the wall years ago - and she did an amazing job in restoring the damage to the frame and the print. I usually go to her store on Denman, but I also know her Gastown store is very successful too. In a past review on here someone mentioned Vera ... yes Vera is truly fabulous ... and that is just another reflection of the kind of people Kim hires to represent her business, and her business values. If she doesn't have it, she'll be happy to try and find it for you. If you have something you want framed and it's a bit strange to do - she'll find a way to do that - or tell you other alternatives - and she has always been welcome to promoting artists - something I truly respect about her. She has been in the business for a LONG time and she has the connections, knows her stuff and is THE person and business I trust. For anyone who has had a bad experience - this is by far RARE ... and if you have - talk to Kim directly - she really cares about her customers. Addendum to last post here: I wrote Kim on her email and asked her if she knew about the bad review below (the only 1 star rating) - and she said that they followed up on it at the time - (as I knew she would have) and couldn't understand what had happened (her whole group had a meeting over it) because they don't outsource any of their framing. She said she tried to contact the customer to see what happened and never heard from them. As I said - she cares about her customers. read more

Let's face it, greeting cards are old school, so if you're going to go old school beyond the e-card... that is venture out to purchase a real life paper greeting card then do it right and get something original vs the big name Hallmark/Carlton sappy mass produced crap where you find yourself rummaging through rows and aisles of cards because you can't find anything you like and so you find a shop like KimPrints. What I like about this place is they have a fresh + unique selection of greeting cards and little gifts, and its not about trying to find something I like, its about deciding which one I like best. read more

Bad experience so far. I got a beautiful print from my boyfriend for my birthday and gave it to them to frame. It was expensive! I paid 50% up front and they told me they'd call me in 1-2 weeks when the job was complete. That was over 4 weeks ago. I'm still waiting. No one knows where my print is. Apparently they outsource all the framing. No one told me my print was going to leave the premises. It's fine to buy a card there, but don't use them for framing. Very irresponsible and inconsiderate. read more

Kim totally saved my butt with helping me frame a last minute wedding present. I came in the evening before and she knew I was in a rush and had no clue about framing. She asked me to trust her and I did! She personally took care of the order. The custom framing is done out of their gastown location, but she made sure it was wrapped and waiting for me the next day at the Denman store. The frame looked great and my friend was very happy with her gift! Thanks, Kim! :) read more

I strongly suggest taking your framing needs elsewhere if you are hoping for a positive and helpful experience. I was looking for a natural wood finished frame and Kim suggested I buy an unfinished wooden frame and stain it myself. When I took it home to stain, the wood didn't take to it well. There were very blotchy areas, as the wood wouldn't stain in some parts. When I took the frame back to the store to discuss my concerns, I was informed by an employee that I should have began by sanding the frame, putting a bottom coat on it, staining it, sanding it again, and finishing it off with a top coat. This was brand new information to me, as Kim didn't provide me with these details initially. Since I'm not a professional, I could have used this guidance to begin with, as I would have went with something else, based on the amount of work. I was so upset, it felt like money down the drain, which it was, as I had to cough up more money for Kim to make it right. I chose a plain black frame; however, I quickly changed my mind, so I called Kim and told her I'd prefer white over black. When I went to pick up the frame, it was black. I told Kim she was the person I spoke with directly and even pulled up my phone records showing the date and time I spoke with her. She informed me this was a very expensive mistake, as if it was my fault. Not once did I receive an apology and when I asked for some funds back for the delay, I was told to get out of the store. It will be 4 weeks by the time I receive my framed photo. In addition, I have paid Kimprints $300 and I will be receiving a $100 frame. I'm really disappointed. The photo has significant meaning to me and to be treated so disrespectfully has made me really sad. I just hope the photo still brings me joy when I eventually get to hang it up and look at it. If I could do it all over again, I would have gone somewhere else. I have been a customer of Kimprints for 10 years. It was my go to for cards, funny gifts, Christmas ornaments and candles. Based on this experience, I will not be shopping at Kimprints in the future which is sad as I enjoy supporting local businesses. read more

i JUST discovered this location over the weekend with the guy I am dating. Similar to the Powell street location but just a little smaller. They still carry the cool kitsch things that I adore, especially the "Mr Bump" mug which I have been continuously using without apology for my tea. Guy working here is super nice and sweet. Prices are reasonable. read more

This store is such a neat little find! I so enjoy rifling through their cards, their artwork is unique and fun, and their staff are kind and knowledgeable. I ordered a print from them and they were able to add it to their spring shipment so I don't have to pay additional s&h, arriving in 2 weeks! They have neat little knick knacks and gifts all over the store that can keep you entertained for hours! Plus they welcome dogs! AWESOME! I have never purchased a frame through them so I cannot comment on this. In the words of Arnold Scwartzenegger, "I'll be back!" read more

I purchased an original oil painting of an enormous size in the USA and had it shipped to Canada. When it arrived I needed a stretcher bar frame measuring 60 inches by 70 inches so that the painting could be re-stretched and hung in our home. I called everywhere with no success and was about to give up. Then Kimprints was recommended to me. Right from the start I knew I was in the right place. Kim was so amazingly helpful and professional. When the frame arrived the artist was here and said that it was the best job he had seen in his artistic career! Well done, Kim! I will certainly shop here again!!! read more

I popped in here for the first time on Sunday. There is an amazing selection of things to look at and the staff is awesome! I bought two prints and then came back the following day to buy a Ken Foster piece. They have a pretty large collection of Ken Foster work.. The service was really friendly and not pushy at all. Ellias helped me both times, he's awesome! Thank you so much to the team at Kimprints, sorry I didn't catch the girls name. I will be back. read more

I came in 5 minutes before closing looking for a card and gift. Not only did Kim help me find the perfect thing she also let me use her computer to print a photo to go in the picture frame. Always stellar service and great selection of cards and unique gifts read more

I collect rare Fight posters from Japan. I have trusted 10 of my posters to Kimprints so far. Each framing job has been amazing, they helped me select the perfect mat and frame combinations. Because of the rarity of the posters they explained using acid free mats and UV blocking glass. I feel confident that my posters will be safe for many years to come. I couldn't be happier and I have 2 more posters I am going to be bringing in. I highly recommend them! read more

Let me start by saying that apart from this guy, the store gets 5 STARS from me, but 1 for his service in the past and today it's 1! I have been a customer of Kimprints in the West End for many years and always loved it when Kim was in the store. There are now various wonderful staffers in there, but when you have to go in for your framing needs and pricing they always refer you to this guy, as described by Justine K. below: "Rude, tough-looking sales guy with an attitude: THE perfect ingredient for WORST customer service ever! Seriously how did that guy end up here? He should work in the army, not in sales". That means you often have to make a second trip to the store if he's not there and then when dealing with him, you are treated as if your requests are ridiculous, demanding or inconvenient. On a previous occasion to simply have a canvass stretched, I had to go back 3 times before he got things right. Whereas the time before that for the same thing with another fellow, it was in and out in one visit and then the finished product arrived perfectly. Just recently I was in spitballing about some fabric I wanted mounted and from the look he gave me, I asked him jokingly, "you are looking at me as if I'm crazy" and he boldfaced without even a smile, which he never does anyway, replied "yes you are"! And then grumpily proceeded to give me the pricing, which I requested in the first place. If KImprints continues to use this man as the only framing and pricing authority, I will seek service elsewhere. So they'd better train all their staff accordingly and not just rely on him! read more

I first met Kim (the owner) when I moved back to the English Bay neighbourhood almost 6 years ago - after more than 30 years in Kits, Fairview, VGH area & Montreal. I allowed myself a budget to re-frame all my artwork to give it a fresh look for my new home - Kim is so knowledgeable and did a fabulous job of more than 20 pieces of artwork. She also knows every card in her shop that she personally orders & takes the time with all her customers (her neighbourhood customers are her good friends) to recommend the 'perfect card' for the occasion & stocks some of the most unique gifts anyone could every want - she welcomes customers' suggestions; Doug, her manager at Denman also offers the same level of service; they both welcomed me & my dogs from day one - she even stocks special treats that I suggested because I was fussy about what my dogs ate. Kim is stretched very thin between her Gastown & Denman locations; multi-tasking top the max; a single mother of teenagers as well and she manages to keep everyone happy. Kim is the epitome of service & good will - she has become a valued friend; she reminds me of my dear friend & French teacher in Montreal; I would do anything for her because she has a big heart and always reciprocates in kind and more - well beyond my expectations. read more
