I am going to give this place grace since they literally opened maybe not even a week ago. I'm also sure the dine in experience is better than my to go experience. I called a to go order in right around lunch rush. I had to tell the girl 3 different times what plate I wanted (The K beef plate). The girl taking my order told me that the salads for the plates were not available and asked me what I would like instead. I said okay if I need to pick something else, I'd pick japchae. She asked if I wanted extra japchae, I clarified that since there's no salad I'll just get japchae to replace it since you asked me what I wanted instead. She then asked if I wanted rice with my plate, to which I asked her doesn't rice come with the plate? She said yes... so I said yes... I want whatever comes with the plate. I should have known there would be an issue. When I walked in, the restaurant itself looked clean and was a little busy for lunch but not full by any means. I went to the cashier to pick up my order but when she rung it up, she charged me for extra japchae? I asked her why that was since I didn't order EXTRA japchae, I simply answered HER question of what I would like instead of the salad since they didn't have salads left. She said the manager is the one who rung it up, okay please bring the manager out. The manager came out and proceeded to tell me 5-6 times, that salads don't actually come with the plates, that the plates come with rice and japchae. I kept trying to explain to her, that's fine if that's how your meals come, but that is not what I was told on the phone and it doesn't make sense for her to even tell me they're out of salad and to ask for a replacement if that was never a part of my meal. After the 6th time saying the same thing, the manager finally understood the situation. But instead of owning up that they're still training their staff, she told me she would take the extra charge off as a one time courtesy. As if I did something wrong and not that her cashier was on her second day of the job and messed up? Anyways, that left a really bad first impression. I understand the struggles of the first couple months of opening up a restaurant but it's difficult to have sympathy when the manager is unwilling to own up to it. Food itself: the food is great. The bulgogi was nicely seasoned, tender, not overly sweet or saturated with marinade. The japchae is SUPER garlic forward but I love that. Their kimchi is the perfect amount of spice and sour with the crunch. I'll give them another chance maybe in a couple months, and probably for dine in instead of take out. read more

Nicely organized with self serve station for hot sauce, ketchup, water, Napkins, togo containers, and plates. Very convenient and efficient if you need to do a quick meal and go. Service was great. First off, we did not order fried chicken so my recommendation may not work for their most popular dish and what they are famous for. My husband is vegetarian and fried chicken platter was for 2 people so didn't want to have all the leftovers. We wanted to order tofu plate but they were out, so ordered kimchi fried rice (vegetarian), it was spicy but had not much veggies other than the kimchi. We didn't get egg on it either coz of dietary restrictions. I ordered a bulgogi plate but it was okay. The kimchi and Japjae were delicious but the bulgogi was not even warm. Considering we waited for a long time - they did warn us that they're busy and it would take time), but then to get that was a bit disappointing. Most people around us were getting fried chicken piled high. If I wanted this food, I would go do Seven Sisters instead, similar food but much better prices and food. Parking is ample, Restaurant was clean Menu was easy to follow, the music was a little loud. The staff was very friendly and nice to explain all their dishes. It's not cheap, most chicken dishes range from 29-35 dollars. Fries were nothing special $15, but were enough for four. The kids did not care of the chicken, stating it was gamey. I've always been a fan of Kimchi Red from their Alpharetta location. I really enjoy the size and spacious seating of this new location in Suwanee. When we went, it was quite busy (I'm so happy for them), but they were bringing out food as soon as possible. Everyone there is very nice and will recommend dishes if you are having a hard time choosing. Their chicken is so juicy, flavorful, and tender. We tried their snow cheese chicken and it was so tasty. It had a nice garlic flavor. Their mega fries are ADDICTING. Love all the toppings on the fries. It all goes so well together. I almost ordered another one lol. I'm not sure how they batter the chicken but I don't feel heavy like I usually do after eating a bunch of fried chicken - I always eat a little too much every time I come. The sides are super tasty as well. Providing plastic gloves is the cherry on top for me.. I love eating with my hands & this lets me eat with my hands without getting them all nasty. Spectacular! A co-worker and I popped in for lunch today and were glad that we did. Korean fried chicken was a first for us both but it certainly won't be the last. It isn't cheap so be prepared BUT the orders are gigantic. We split a whole order of Spicy Jeonju and the K - Mega Fries and had enough left over for both of us to take some home to our families for dinner. The chicken was seasoned/sauced perfectly and the fries were topped with all sorts of yumminess. The restaurant is clean and bright and the young lady taking our order was very nice and walked us through the menu to help us decide what we wanted. We settled on the Spicy JeonJu Whole Chicken (29.99) and Japchae Plate (14.99). We asked for the sauce on the side and crunchy chilli on the side. We placed the order at the counter and when checking out the system encouraged us to leave a tip. Which we did unsure what type of service we were going to receive. When we arrived the place was empty and only 1 girl at the counter and back kitchen staff. All told our bill came up to $54.00 and some change. We sat down and waited about 20 minutes for to come out. A few other people came in after us and they sounded like it was there first time there also. The food was brought out and our first impressions were mixed. The Japchae Plate was TINY! for $15 it said plate, this looked like a banchan tray of Japchae. There was also very little items in the dish other than noodles and a few scraps of vegetables. It was far from Korean Japchae which is usually filled with vegetables and some protein. The Japchae had drizzled sauce on top, tasted of a combination of Yum Yum sauce and a mayo based creamy sauce. Flavor was okay but it was cold, I thought with a 20 minute wait they would have at least warmed the noodles. Very underwhelming for the $15 for a tiny dish. The photo has a plastic fork which is a tiny fork stuck in it for comparison. The Chicken first impression was a bit confusing for us. The chicken was cut up, I assume to make it fry easier. But we ordered a whole chicken, It had 1 leg, 4 wings, No Thighs and what looked like Chicken Breasts cut into 4 segments. I love the juicy flavor in dark meat thighs so I was disappointed before starting and I almost asked if this was supposed to be a whole chicken. The flavor of the chicken was okay for me I had the wings and the breasts, My wife however had the leg and wings. She reacted pretty quickly at the chicken leg. She said it tasted like old frozen chicken. She said the wing was okay but the leg tasted old and had a frozen freezer burn flavor she said. My chicken wings were fine and the Breasts were well cooked and succulent. The JeonJu sauce was tasty cross between sweet and sour with a touch of umami flavor, but a very simple slurry with some scallions in it. I Chilli Crunch was spicy and flavorful but the red hot sauce they had that you served yourself with tasted similar to many hot wing sauce you would have at like Bojangles or Popeyes. Overall the meal was okay, very expensive for what we got and definately did not feel the value or quality to rate it as the #1 chicken place in the nation. (There are signs all over the place that make this claim as the #1 chicken place) So here are my honest thoughts, The food is edible and the chicken was average as fried chicken goes, I have had better and there is no shortage of places in Atlanta Area. I am glad I didn't try the Kimchi chicken or anything else it would have taken the value of the meal to a non existent level. I think the place suffers from ego and greed as being touted as the #1 chicken place. There is no need to tip, there is no service, aside from having the kitchen staff deliver our food, we did pretty much everything. There are no refills on drinks. A can of Soda will set you back $2 and a small bottle of Calpico or bottled water will cost you $6. I have mixed feelings but tending toward a negative experience. For almost $60 meal for 2 we basically got a 3 piece chicken meal while paying for the sides. I do not think we will go out of our way to come back to Kimchi Red and have a hard time recommending the place to anyone. If you want to try it I would recommend you bring a friend and split a half chicken before you dive in for more if you like it. The Kimchi Chicken which I wanted to try would have set me back $40 by itself for a whole chicken. I give it a 2 star even though the food is edible, Mainly because the Japchae contained nothing other than noodles and was so tiny for the price I paid and the mutant 1 legged 4 wing chicken with no thighs... read more

The batter is light and has no seasonings. The chicken is dark meat. No option for white meat. The chicken also has no seasonings. Clearly, the sauces are meant to completely carry the chicken. The portions are huge. It is not tenders. It is varying sizes of chunked meat. No sauce comes with it. You have to pay for sauce. The fries were hot and crispy. Huge portion. The restaurant was empty except for two girls deciding what to order, so I went ahead of them. First in line. My to-go order took approximately 25 mins to come out. The restaurant was very clean. The server was fine. Quiet, not really helpful, but also not rude. Basic service. The total for half order of chicken, regular fries and one order of soy garlic sauce was $30.68. Not my thing. This place might be good to some, but I found it to be way overpriced and uninspiring. The chicken while made to order and served hot, did not taste great, not fresh. I got a small wing, a thigh, and a small leg. Two scoops of rice, and cold ( served as intended). No ice or fountain drinks just cold bottled drinks. My green tea was $3.49. The total was $24.21. There are many Asian restaurants nearby that would serve much better for much less. Call me unsophisticated, but even Popeyes Chicken could serve red beans and rice, a biscuit, 3 pieces of spicy chicken, and a drink for half of the price. Not recommended. read more

We ordered Spicy Jeonju for 2 with white rice. The restaurant music was a little loud and very cold. It took a little bit of time to get our food, but when it came out it was well worth it. We ordered the Spicy Jeonju to go and the first thing I noticed (which was great!) was that they didn't fully close the Togo box so that it wouldn't get soggy and I appreciate that so much. I got home and my chicken was still SO crispy. They also put the sauce on the side which I appreciate. The down side was that I ended up paying close to $40 for this chicken with no rice that came with it/ sides. I live right down the street from this place and I would totally go more if it wasn't for their pricing. Hopefully they can add a combo or something that is more affordable to their menu so more locals to enjoy their food. read more

Fried chicken lovers, look no further! I can't describe how perfectly my honey chicken was coated with the just the right amount of crunch and tangy sauce. The presentation of the dish and the ambiance of the place is fabulous too. I had the very good fortune of meeting the owner Alice- she is absolutely kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience at her restaurant!
