Special A: mandoo, chicken, Teri beef, meat jun, rice, bean sprouts and seaweed.
Jessica P.

Loved the food! It's a popular restaurant so understand you may need to wait and there's a lot of people so the noise level may be high. But the food is worth it. I ordered special A, I believe. It came with rice, seaweed, bean sprouts, mandoo, chicken, meat jun and teri beef. The banchan was kim chi, fishcake I believe, cabbage, and soup. Food was delicious and came out hot and fast. I cant wait to go back and try more items like the kalbi. I had so much leftovers and all for under $22. Recommend!!

We love it here!!! Parking can be a little bit tight, but there is parking in the area. Every time we're craving meat Jun this is the spot we go to. It is a bit tight in this restaurant so we usually do takeout when we have the whole family with us because my son is special needs so it's a little hard to find a spot for him to sit down without being in someone's way. But when he's not with us, we love to eat in. They have a bunch of vegetable sides. All of them are always delicious. The meat Jun here is our family's favorite and their Kalbi too! We usually order the meal for two and they naturally give so much food that it feeds our family of six... for now because the kids are still little. But I believe that meal can easily feed three adults. This restaurant feels like those family restaurants that you just go to and grow up with. We love it here the food is always good. Everything taste amazing. I've never had any problems with the service so no complaints on my end. Love this place.

I think they might serve Korean food here.

Awesome mom-and-pop, local hangout over in Aiea. You can find these just about everywhere on this island, if you know where to look. So yes, this is a Korean spot in case its name didn't give it away. Looks small and nondescript from the exterior, with not too much parking out front as it shares this lot with other businesses. Inside is bigger than you think, though. Most people come here for takeout, but there is plenty of comfortable seating if you want to stick around. I can see why this is a popular lunch spot for the locals on their break. Food comes out quick and service is efficient and diligent. Lots of items and combos to choose from the menu, but they have daily lunch specials that makes it easier for you. You can pick two of their regular items and it comes with rice, veggies, and banchan at a discounted price. For what you're getting, this is a SUPERB deal. They absolutely do not skimp out on the portions. This will fill you up for the whole day. Ordered the following lunch special: - BBQ short ribs and chicken - 8.5/10: My God man, this was awesome. Came straight from the BBQ out back (they have an open fire grill) and you could literally taste that lovely smoke. Perfectly cooked, tasty, tender, juicy, and delicious. I believe they use the same marinade for both proteins, but I ain't complaining. Just great stuff. So yeah, I'm already hungry just thinking about it. Definitely a GREAT time was had by all.

First time here! I noticed it is always busy. Expect a wait and come early! We ordered a variety of dishes to share. The portions are so huge, there will be leftover. The food was pretty good. The meat jun and seafood pancake was my favorite. The pickled dishes were tasty and can be refilled. Just a suggestion for them that they could upgrade their seats and tables.

We've been eating here a lot lately. No matter how busy they are (and they're always busy), the service is always amazing and the food and portions are fantastic. I can never finish my whole plate and I always have enough to take home for another meal the next day. My go-to is always the Combo Plate C. I love their big bone Kalbi along with their Meat Jun and BBQ chicken. I really love their kimchee variety too, which they refill for you so you can eat to your heart's content. This is a small place with limited seating so you will often have to sign in and wait for a table. The wait is not usually long though and it's worth it. It can get really busy here especially in the evening, but it's not uncommon during lunch as well.

This is the worse I e e r had. Kim her cabbage not even salted ! It was hard as cutting a head, sprinkle gochugaru and go! Horrible! This place has gone down

First time dining here. Four of us made plans to have lunch here at 11 am. 3 of us arrived early and when the Open sign turned on at 10:30 we entered. We were given a regular menu and a single sheet with Lunch Combos. Three of us decided upon a two choice lunch combo with different choices. One wanted cold noodles. Our jaws literally dropped in awe as the first plate arrived with vegetable tempura and bbq pork. It was humongous!!! My meat Jun and zucchini was pretty huge as well. The person who ordered kalbi with another choice paid $3+ extra for the kalbi selection. We all remarked how delicious our meals were and we all took left overs home. The servers are friendly, refill your water and don't chase you out after you paid the bill. We hadn't all met together since Covid so we had lots to catch up on. You will need to ask for a key to use the outside restroom. The interior furniture and menus show they've been in use for quite some time. If you don't mind that, the food alone is worth coming for or you could order take out.

Local Korean restaurant with ginormous portions! We got the 2-choice lunch plates with meat jun, fried mandoo, vegetable tempura, and tonkatsu. Very affordable price especially given the huge size! The veggie in the tempura seemed to be more raw so it wasn't our favorite. The tonkatsu was interesting as it was very thin. The meat jun and mandoo were good. Banchan and a small bowl of seaweed soup is included! They were busy but service was fast and great! Small cute local restaurant vibes.

Dinner in Aiea, Hawaii... My friend and I were at a seminar at Aiea Library and she wanted to have dinner afterwards. I saw Ruby S. check in at Kim Chee Restaurant 7 and thought - wow... that's nearby! Let's try it! Located at Westridge Center, Kim Chee 7 was on the ground level, to the right of the Hawaii State Credit Union. The restroom is "under the stairs" and a key is needed for the door. Shared parking was free. I walked in and signed my name on the clipboard at the cashier's station. The place was packed! I saw four parties signed in ahead of us, and two tables were being cleared. That meant that we'd be seated soon. The friendly worker called us in and pointed to the middle table. It was set with menus, cups of iced water, utensils, napkins, and three dishes of banchan. I ordered Mixed Plate Special A because it had some of everything: BBQ chicken, meat jun, BBQ beef, and fried mandoo. My plate came with a bowl of white rice and a bowl of seaweed soup. Everything tasted great! I wasn't able to finish since the portion was very generous! My friend ordered a mini chicken katsu, but the portion was massive. I knew she wouldn't be able to eat everything! We both got takeout containers for our leftovers and will probably have meals for a couple of days!

Weeknight family dinner. Open the door, write your name and number of guests in your party on sign in sheet at front counter, wait outside for your name to be called by the staff. Casual and crowded. Massive portions considering the prices. Sufficient for three meals. Intuitive and superb customer service from the staff. Seaweed soup tasted comforting. Pickled radish was on point. Mochiko Chicken was partially coated in batter and most of the pieces tasted dry. Meat is a little tougher and doesn't adhere to the egg mixture for meat jun. Spicy Ahi Won tasted ok. Pickled seaweed passed the taste test. Bean sprouts and cabbage were not pickled long enough and tasted crunchy. I care more about quality than quantity.

They have three types of kimchee. My favorite one is radish kimchi. The kimchee dish was too sour for me.
Haylee B.

When we came in, we got seated right away. They gave us three plates of different kimchee. My favorite was the radish kimchee. The house kimchee was too sour for us. I ordered the Chicken Katsu and Meat Jun. When the plate came out, the chicken katsu didn't look the same as Kim Chee 1. I tried it and it wasn't bad though. I liked the meat jun. My dad ordered the bbq beef and Mochiko chicken. He said he would definitely come back here for the bbq beef.

It been a while since we stoped by Kimchee 7 We had a craving for Korean so I got the following that never misses Meatjun and kalbi combo

Cassandra H.

One of my favorite Korean restaurants. The portions are huge and the service is always on point. They do get super busy since the restaurant is not very big so be prepared to wait if you come during peak meal times. You can't go wrong with anything you order on the menu but I always get the big bone kalbi and meat jun combo. The best!!

If I could give another 5 stars I would. Excellent food. The meat Jun is out of this world and the sauce they use, it's very tasty.

No to Meat Jun! trust me, I have been coming to Soonʻs for years and it has been awhile since i visited last as I am not living in the area. I ordered 2 Meat Jun plates and was not happy. Problem: Recipe is totally different. Flattened beated meat dipped in a heavy batter and deep fried means, you are eating deep fried batter with a taste of meat and after 3 pieces, you canʻt taste the meat at all. We ordered two plates of Meat Jun which was my favorite to order here before along with the teri beef sandwhich and we did purchase this too. The TB sand was a little salty but tasted good. Missed the extra veggie it used to have. But, overall, its a good teri beef sand. This review is for awareness on the meat jun. It is not close to what it was before. Do not order it and save your money. Order another item. I do like Soonʻs but had a hard $40+ lesson! NO to the Meat Jun. This is not Hawaii Korean meat jun. It is something totally different. This review is for the meat jun and it is 1 star for the tasty veggies.
