My husband and I were traveling home from visiting family for Thanksgiving, and we were looking for a place to eat a late breakfast. This was the only place in the area serving breakfast after noon, so we considered it an adventure based on reviews we had already seen here. We got exactly what we were expecting and more! We both ordered the breakfast special, which was delicious & inexpensive. It was Sunday right after church, & all the locals were popping in for lunch after service, & it seemed everyone knew everyone. Very down-home! At checkout, there was a book to sign and add where we were from. The gentleman at the cashier was so friendly and answered questions we had about people in the photos on the walls. We did notice the booths went unoccupied because they definitely need reupholstering. However, there was plenty of table seating. We would definitely go back!

The paint matches the tables and chairs, with two brown-colored, old-school restaurant booths located in a second room. A western movie plays on the television in the corner, and there are no carryout shelves, no WiFi, no frills. It's not what you come here for. But you will find lots of camo, long beards, and locals engaged in boisterous chatter with heavy southern accents. It's an authentic southern experience. The Saturday morning breakfast rush was just winding down at 8:45 when I walked in and took the only remaining seat. The other 45 spots were taken as the place was packed! It took 30 minutes to get my food, but I hoped it was worth the wait. The loaded hash browns contained a mixture of ham, peppers, onions, and one of my least favorite things - a melted square of despicable American cheese. The potatoes are closer to soggy than crisp which is a cardinal sin in the hash brown game. But the ham was really good. The sausage patties were obviously store bought and very unimpressive, and the biscuits were either picked up at the local grocer or simply underwhelming. The gravy was thick, but the wonderful texture was utterly flavorless. The entire meal was under $10 without the tip, so you get what you pay for. At least it's affordable.

Since I was in town, I decided to make an order over the phone and asked for the House Fried Rice. I asked for $3 extra meat in it and not a lot of rice. When I asked if they could take some of the rice off, they had the audacity to tell me that it would be $10 more! WHAT!!!! You said that you weighted the meat, then why would it be more to put the same amount of meat that you weighted in the container with less rice? AM, I MISSING SOMETHING???
