This is an absolutely terrific medical practice led by Dr Joseph Stuckert…read more Dr Stuckert left his previous partnership with Premier Medical Associates, so don't be fooled by the address or phone # on another Yelp site. This is his new private practice. Dr Stuckert is fantastic! A true caring physician...everything you want in a doctor and dermatologist. Professional and friendly, thorough and expert, he takes his time, explains everything, and addresses all concerns with knowledge and compassion. I've been to him for screenings and needed procedures. My 17 yr old son has seen him for screenings, and more recently for treatment for alopecia areata...bald spots in his hair...which is very concerning to a teen. Dr Stuckert reassured him, treated him and cured the condition. My son was so grateful, as was I! This is the dermatoligy practice to go to, the physician to see. His PA-C Kaitlin Galata is also terrific. Friendly staff, super practitioners. Worth any distance traveled. Dr Stuckert is the BEST!

I have been annually seeing the very knowledgeable Dr. Joseph Stuckert for several years. I…read moreinitially was referred to him after a med express doc and my own PCP could not figure out my abdominal skin problem. After examination and questioning Dr. Stuckert quickly diagnosed the issue and gave me a treatment that quickly resolved the problem. Pain lasting 2 months and effecting my daily activities of living was finally gone! As time has passed he has performed other procedures, all done painlessly and competently. As a bonus, he has a very caring, kind and patient personality. Examinations are done thoroughly. I cannot recommend this dermatologist enough - I would give him 10 stars, if possible. As well, his team is also excellent. Finally, his practice recently relocated to a lovely, easily accessible office in the North Hills in Pittsburgh. When I made my annual appt. last year my info and appt. did not transfer. Still, Dr. Stuckert squeezed me in and did not hurry the exam. If you need a dermatologist he should be your choice. Kim S.

After 3 months, I was told I needed to reschedule due to the Dr taking that day off. It happens, I understand. I call back and get a big box call center (not personnel from the office itself) only to find out there will be no more appointments on Fridays forever, which really doesn't work for me. I was frustrated but accepted it and moved on to schedule with another office. Then, a week plus later I get a letter from them saying they haven't heard back from me about the canceled appointment. This shows they're totally not on the ball with anything and reminds me of the frustration. It prompted me to write this negative review. Sorry but that's too many mistakes and just not good enough.

When the doctor entered the room, he immediately began rooting through my hair, like a monkey,…read morelooking for bugs. Very quickly he told me that I was done and had no problems. I told him I had a list of questions which he quickly went through and did not write down any of the suggestions he told me. I showed him a spot on my arm which he said was nothing. He told me he could easily freeze it off and I said no I can freeze it off at home and he said no really it's not a problem I can do it. So I let him freeze it off. I've had this done dozens of times over my lifetime, a different dermatologist and never been charged for it if it didn't need to go to the lab. I received a bill for $110 and called to dispute it and received a nasty email from a woman named Leah Coleman who is a director with them. I will never ever go back again.

I have visited this UPMC Dermatology business four times--in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025. I have…read moreinteracted with only physician assistants, a nurse practitioner, medical assistants, and receptionists--NOT dermatologists. Appointments at this office can fill up quickly, so I recommend making an appointment several months in advance, as soon as the providers' schedules are determined. 2021: My appointment began on time. A very polite medical assistant asked questions about my health and took my blood pressure. I changed into a gown. Soon the physician assistant Megan Carrigan arrived. She, too, was very polite and very professional. She did a *thorough* skin exam of my entire body. (My past dermatologists at other offices improperly asked me to point out suspicious skin growths myself.) Megan closely examined my entire body from scalp to toes and even examined my private parts with my permission. Megan said that I have no skin cancer. She gave me an educational pamphlet, and she described the different types of cancerous and benign skin growths. She recommended that I return to the office every year for a skin exam. After my appointment, her notes were available for me to read on UPMC's website. 2023: In the waiting room, I used a kiosk to check in. Two nearby employees did not say hello. My appointment began on time. A medical assistant brought me into a private room, asked me questions and measured my blood pressure, and made friendly conversation. I changed into my gown. Soon the nurse practitioner Sara Prager entered the room. She performed a skin exam of my arms, legs, abdomen, chest, back, face, and my hairline, but she did NOT examine the scalp on top of my head. She used a handheld device called a dermatoscope to closely examine certain skin growths. I asked her about three small growths on my face, and she replied that two are seborrheic keratoses, a buildup of the protein keratin, and one is an acrochordon or skin tag, and they could be frozen off in the same appointment. Minutes later, she brought a cup of frozen liquid nitrogen, q-tips, and a cryotherapy tool. She spent minutes applying the frozen nitrogen to my skin. Unfortunately, the skin never fell off in the following days/weeks. 2024: The nurse practitioner Sara Prager again did a skin exam of my body. This time, she did examine my scalp. 2025: The receptionists served me promptly and politely. The medical assistant as very nice and did a good job with asking me questions. The physician assistant Hunter Baxter was very courteous, and he spent at least several minutes doing a *thorough* exam of the skin on my body, including my scalp and while using a dermatoscope. If he works here next year, then I will make an appointment with him again.
