I was seen very…read morequickly and thoroughly assessed by the Nurse Practitioner Michelle who, frankly, did way more for me in ten minutes than both times at the ER waiting for hours to get scanned with contrast. She addressed the issues quickly and answered with precision. I felt comfortable talking to her and I will return to this office when I have needs of that kind. I already see a few doctors in Woodstock. This is far closer and very pleasant. It's a clean, bright office and I would recommend them to anybody. I'm so glad insurance covered the medication. The Emergency Room prescribed nothing but kept writing me referrals to a specialist when what this really is comes from a medication reaction. It's sad that three months of an antifungal will necessitate the taking of three other medications to reduce the swollen lymph nodes, but I will be thrilled to not feel like I have been swimming all day. My ear has been giving me a hard time for awhile and it's been messing with my balance and hearing. I'm glad I went! Unfortunately I'm due for a pelvic, so I will definitely go this route. So I called for an appointment and was told she could see me on August 18 (today is July 2). I have prescriptions that have to be monitored and maintained, and I also have a very painful issues with my arm. I don't think either can wait for August 18. They are two separate appointments and they won't combine them: one is "to establish care" and the other is an illness visit. Once I see her as a "wellness visit" on August 18, I would be able to "get in quicker" to see her in the future. For now, if I'd like to be seen and monitored by "someone else" who has more availability in their schedule I could do that. Well, I've had a terrible experience with a doctor in Chicago that left me with ongoing medical issues that could have been prevented. So I did my research and selected someone I felt I could trust. I was so very lucky to have that in New Orleans (from where I just moved) and I just wanted that again. I don't really want to see "someone else" that I don't know anything about and waiting 6+ weeks to see a doctor I researched heavily. So while I can't really rate Dr. Boyd herself, this is a warning to those who are looking for a doctor: even though her site says she is accepting new patients, I don't think she really has time for them. Be sure you can wait six weeks before seeing her if you choose her. I get why she's busy -- she's good. But why advertise that you're accepting new patients when you really don't have time for someone who needs you?

I have had some pretty awful and traumatizing experiences at the hands of the medical profession over the course of my life, and so I had been without a primary care doctor for a number of years before I found Dr. Chung. I was going with the, if I don't think about it I'll be fine mentality. However, it became clear I really did need to see a doctor, and so an extended family member suggested I see a colleague of his, who was not taking patients. Dr. Chung was new to the practice, and so I thought, okay, I guess I could give him a try, but I steeled myself, for what I assumed would be a horrible experience. My first visit with Dr. Chung was a game changer. I wanted to hug him after my visit and all of his staff as well. He LISTENED! HE LISTENED! HE CLEARLY ACTUALLY HEARD WHAT I HAD SAID TO HIM. HE MADE OBSERVATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS! HE NEVER GAVE ORDERS. He was, at ALL times, respectful, thoughtful and I felt so comfortable with him. In the past 5 or so years that I have been Dr. Chung's patient, I have never had a negative experience with his practice, (Okay, one time, one of the office staff was crabby, but hey, we all have off days sometimes, and it wasn't a big deal, just a tiny bit of edge). From the ER, the staff from the counter, technician, Care Assistant, CT technician, phlebotomist, Housekeeping, transporter, RN's & Dr's are amazing. And they do care of their patients. My close friend went here for an emergency situation of pain…read more Wait time at the hospital this day was not bad for an emergency room, at two hours this is in the realm of urgent care wait so I am IMPRESSED to see this. The physicians had a lot of emergencies coming through the door. But the hospital worked in a way very efficient, with plenty of proper crew resource management and high levels of clinical knowledge the staff was able to create a care plan to get my friend back up and functioning in her daily life. My friend has chronic pain and fibro. She needed to get some sort of pain relief right away and this hospital did it for her. They bought her enough time to make it to the procedure when she will hopefully have longer lasting relief. It's good to know there's a quality hospital ready to serve in the near community.
