New! Renovations are finished and the Campbell Library has finally reopened!…read more This library has been totally renovated and reopened in May 2026z huge windows, natural light and a feeling of openness abounds. If you have kids, please note that the Children's section is separate from the rest of the library. It is a huge room behind glass doors. It looks quite nice. If I was still a kid, I would have loved to explore this area. The main adult section is downstairs and easy to navigate. I like the Overlook area's comfy chairs and large windows. Kudos to the city of Campbell and all the many sponsors and donors for making this renovated library a reality.

Why didn't they have this when I was younger, or when my kids were still little. It's come a long way when they had just a few tables and chairs and old wooden puzzles for my daughter to play with lol. --Children's room. The childrens room is upstairs. There's a children's play area that is simply adorable, albeit very cramped. Even with just a few kids in there today with their parents it seemed a bit tight (may be best to go off peak). It's sure to be very popular and crowded. They have the cutest play structures with a Campbell Water Tower replica that feeds into a slide. The nod to historic Campbell is everywhere. Nice touches! --Toys None, however they have a few play costumes & hats ---Lots of Stairs There are a lot of stairs, be forewarned. On the reopening it wasn't operational, however it's working now. --Spaces/Seating: lots of seating and plenty of airy open spaces. Everything is white. I'm thinking it will get dirtly quickly though, especially with the littles putting hands on everything. I anticipate the bench seating will be in high demand, people will likely be fighting over them. --Meeting Rooms: you can rent small rooms (there are three). The library employee told me they are reservable for 90 minutes, which is free with a Library card. However, this is incorrect. I was able to book on online for 2 hours. I believe patrons can also book half the community room for studying or small meetings. The bigger community room is for library programs/Friends Organization/Partners or government entities only however. --Laptops/Portable Chargers: Also, this is huge, you can check out laptops and portable chargers at their kiosk. Computers: none! They are having patrons check out Dell laptops (need a library card) for 3 hour checkout. --Staff and finally, please be patient and kind with the staff. The stress was visible today on their faces as they were trying to deal with the onslaught of demand. There will be some kinks (as most newly remodeled business have) to work out. Update, brought my other daughter with me today (Sunday) to check it out. We noticed there is no teen area. The old one had a small area by the magna just for teens, so that's a bummer. Here they are expected to co-mingle.

The inside of the library was so neat and clean. There was a lot of natural lighting too, which made the library seem more inviting. The kid's section of the library has a large selection of books. There is a play structure with a slide, a "bonfire" area, and a play corner for new walkers. There are even a few reading books by the window. My son had a great time walking around, exploring, and reading some books. When it was time for storytime, the librarian walked my son and his baby group to a private room. It's nice knowing that they offer this service aside from the regular weekly storytime. They have a parking lot, which was about 90% full by the time I left around noon. I went on a weekday.

I've gotten a good amount of work and reading done in this library. I also love how close it is to Highway 85, so I can quickly stop by to return items or pick up reserved items when I'm in a hurry. The Saratoga, Cupertino, and Morgan Hill Libraries have all redefined the standard I expect libraries to have now. MLK Library in DTSJ is trash compared to these three IMO. The sheer number of books, blu-rays, and video games each library has is insane. You're missing out if you don't sign up for a Santa Clara County Library card!

Our family has been coming to the LG Library for many years, even before they remodeled in 2012…read more This library is beautiful (both inside and outside), the librarians/staff are friendly/helpful and their restrooms are always clean. When my daughter was little, she loved reading in one of the cozy upholstered circular reading nooks in the Children's Room. Besides books/audiobooks/DVD's/CD's, you could borrow park passes, various kinds of board games, puzzles and kits (such as stargazing telescope kit, pollinator kit, ukulele kit, gardening kit, and sewing machine kit.) Recently, I've noticed that you could even borrow an induction cooktop. They also offer free 3D printing (1 per month), and drop-in tech help. They have a seed library as well. They have a technology lab, and you could reserve study rooms. The library also hosts different events for adults and children. I attended the "Summery Vegetable Success" event in the Technology Lab on Sunday. The speaker, a UC Master Gardener, was very experienced, and her talk was very interesting and informative! I feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful library in our community.

Sometimes you…read moreneed a change of scenery to stay motivated, so I decided to try the Los Gatos Library for the first time while studying Calculus 3. I'll give credit where it's due: the library itself is beautiful. Very clean, modern, quiet, and honestly one of the nicest study environments I've been to. I ended up staying there for a couple hours completely locked into studying, and I genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately, when I walked back to my car, I found a $42 parking citation because apparently almost all nearby parking is limited to 90 minutes. To be fair, I take accountability because I missed the signs. I wasn't familiar with the area and was more focused on navigating traffic, checking out the new scenery and finding the library than checking every parking post. Still, I was honestly shocked because I've never been to a library where nearly every surrounding spot is capped at only 90 minutes. For regular visitors maybe this isn't an issue, but for students, remote workers, or anyone doing serious study sessions, 90 minutes is unrealistic. Most people don't go to a library to stay for just an hour and a half. Even moving your car around becomes stressful and inconvenient. So this is just a heads up for fellow college students and study grinders: the library itself is great, but be very careful with parking because one long study session can quickly turn into an expensive mistake. 42$ for me as a broke college student really left a bitter taste in my mouth even if it was my fault. Great scenery and study environment. Terrible parking setup for students. Great library - time limit = 2.5 stars
