Masses of people come out to hike--or as I should be saying since this is the UK, walk--the Quiraing, but unless you bring you own food in, there are hardly any restaurants or cafes to sit down for a meal within miles.
Among the few is the Kilmartin. It's a modest and plain cafe that's connected to the community center in Staffin. I wouldn't say it qualifies as four-star dining, but given the lack of choices, it got the job done and we were happy to have it available after our Quiraing adventure. We had lunch plates with sandwiches (smoked salmon for me), salad, and chips. Pretty basic, but everything seemed fresh.
The cafe has giant picture windows that provides plentiful natural light, but given the generally spectacular and even surreal scenery on the Trotternish Peninsula, the views here are merely pleasant.
