Very annoying company. I don't know how many times I had to tell them that I don't need their services in my new home. Then I warned them about don't entering my property. Then they say they'll be picking up their underground traps, then they don't, then they sent an email with only two days in advance, then I have to reschedule because I don't need anyone taking any traps from my property. Kareem is our regular tech. As a matter of fact he is the one we request. He is kind, courteous, and thorough. We have a dog that is not aggressive but very interactive. Kareem takes time to make sure River is comfortable with him being in our home. We currently have a control program that covers many pests. Carpenter bees, ants, water bugs, rodents, and mosquitoes. I had a terrible ant problem. got a reasonable price from Sean or Shawn unsure how to spell his name. anyway he treated inside and outside for ants. was adamant on returning if the problem continue. haven't seen an ant since he left. looking forward for my next appointment with him as he was personable and nice to my children. I called and requested Killingsworth to address a mouse issue through our pest control coverage. I met with the technician at 8 a.m. on Saturday and gave specific directions as to where the issue was located in the attic. When he was finished he indicated that he could not find the mouse, but placed traps around the attic. By 2 p.m. that afternoon, we began to smell the mouse (apparently now deceased) so I went up into the attic, to the exact spot I indicated and found a dead mouse! I immediately called the office and was told that everyone was gone. The receptionist indicated that she would call the team manager and leave a message. I also got the phone number for the manager and left a message requesting the courtesy of a call back. By 12 p.m. on Monday, still no call back. I again called and got the same receptionist who recalled our conversation from Saturday. She would again reach out and attempt to get some resolution. She did call back and had arranged for the same tech to stop by He did and then told me that they don't walk around in the attic due to the possibility of them falling through the ceilings. I pointed out that when we asked him specifically on Saturday if he had located the area I indicated the mouse was in, he said, "Yes, and I didn't see anything". He also stated that he has placed traps around the attic space. Additional discussion ensued and he finally called his manager. I was told that the manager would call me back and I am still waiting! From this experience I would rate this company as having poor customer relation skills, lousy follow-up when issues arise and zero responsibility. Management obviously is poorly trained. We have had Killingsworth for the entire time we've owned our home (20 years) and even initiated mosquito control coverage with them. Now I am left with the feeling that they cannot be trusted to do what they're being paid to accomplish! read more

I changed to the lawn care service last year form another company. There was significant savings involved for basically the same service. Now, a tear later I have cancelled due to the way the lawn looks now. There are bare spots, poor growth and lots of moss. (the previous provider had eliminated the moss but it came back due to Killingsworths lack of treatment). But what concerned me most was after having 2 different managers come out they never said they would even try to fix it. It was "oh well you've got moss". I have been a customer of their heating and air division for years and am very disappointed in the company as a whole now. read more

We recently moved out of our old house and into a new one. The movers told us (incorrectly, it turns out) that we had bedbugs in our boxsprings, and they wanted us to throw away our entire bed. We completely freaked out, and were prepared to pay a pest service to come out and evaluate everything, and potentially apply expensive treatments. I contacted Killingsworth to get a quote, and they asked me to just send them pictures of what I was looking at. I sent them some high res photos of the insects, and within about 15 minutes, their K-9 bedbug handler had reviewed the photos, and responded back to me that the insects in question were carpet beetles--which are annoying, but just a pest. Certainly not bedbugs. They did not charge me a single cent for the consultation, and they probably saved me thousands of dollars in potentially having to replace furniture. It would have been very easy for them to have come out to my house and turned the whole thing into a very expensive ordeal for me. But they did the right thing and saved me a ton of money. Now if I ever do have a need for pest control in the future, I will certainly be using them. I had to post this here to try and give them something back. read more

I've been a Killingsworth client since I moved to Charlotte 3 1/2 years ago. I found them through Angie's Service. Lots of trees and bushes around, so lots of flies and garden bugs that get into the house. From the first visit through today, I think they are the best. I'm now on an annual contract with them, which I love. They are very professional and responsive. I particularly like my field rep, Johnny A who is punctual, efficient and takes tremendous pride in his work. Whenever I'm scheduled for an appointment I make such its Johnny that comes. He knows my home and has done a fantastic job over the years of ensuring we are critter free. Need a good exterminating company for whatever reason, think of Killingsworth ... and ask for Johnny A. You won't regret it. read more

Don't waste your time talking to Killingsworth Environmental, that is if you can get by all the robot message response and Voicemail answering machines. Cold response from the person who finally contacted me. I told them of being ripped off last October by Terminex who charge me $1600 to kill bed bugs for only 90 days then additional money would be needed. I was desperate and this a new problem for me afraid not too and was told Orkin was even more $$$. Now they are back again**** Killingsworth Environmental wants $125 the first visit, just to do an assessment of your bed bug problem. I told him I already know what they look like, how much is the treatment and do you do heat treatment with bed bug treatment spraying. He said they do not do a treatment without an assessment first and would not give me a price. In other words give them $125 to come over and they don't care if you turn down their offer for treatment or not. I said no of course. There are many others with free estimates. Fred came to clean some drainage areas around the exterior of the house that were blocked with mulch and debris and to lay down rocks so the moisture would not get stuck underneath the house in the crawl space. He was on-time, efficient, kind and did a great job. And extremely polite. In fact, even though there was one more drainage area that was not included in the estimate, he did not charge extra and he was done earlier than expected. This was a follow up to prior work done in the crawl space where another 2 guys cleaned out and covered up the exposed ground with plastic to prevent moisture build up. The guy that did that work pointed out it would be good to clean the drains out. Great work on both accounts. I have used them for organic pest and termite control now for 2 years with no problems.
