There so many thoughtful touches, a pathway for my dads wheelchair, mulch barriers from my neighbors wild flowers, storage for our kayaks. The transformation was huge, it's like a whole new house. Gairy was incredibly kind, easy to work with, and very responsive throughout the process. Pricing was also very reasonable for the amount of work completed. We're extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend them.

Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.

I went through the process of searching for another lawn care company after severing ties with my current company. I received 3 quotes which included Spring Green. All were within a few dollars of each other so price was not the driving factor for me. What sold me on Spring Green was Ben's (owner) knowledge of what is going to take to bring up our Bermuda grass to were it should be (health and look) and the need to be patient to get there. We hired Spring Green in late June and since then they have already completed a lawn soil test, lawn application and performed a core aeration with milorganite. I clearly understand that it will take time and patience to get our Bermuda lawn to a tip top shape but what Ben and the Spring Green Team have just performed has shown not only promise but results that Ben has discussed with me. The key factor here if you are going to use Spring Green is to follow their recommendations and be patient with getting results. I will do my best to continue to update this review as Spring Green continues working on our Bermuda lawn. For now it is 4 stars out of 5! But I am definitely slowly becoming a fan and a believer in their service. read more

Ben and his team have been taking care of my lawn for 4-5 years and we have seen a significant improvement each year with lusher, greener grass. I even get compliments from the neighbors on my lawn. However, the real standout quality about Ben and his team is the human touch he adds to the services he provides. Last year, my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I reached out to Ben to cancel our services, as we needed to save money for medical expenses. Ben responded that he was going to take care of our services free of charge for the year so that my husband could focus on getting better without worrying about the lawn. Unfortunately, my husband passed a few months later, but when I reached out to Ben to initiate payments again, he said he had it covered for the rest of the year. Spring Green with Ben Whitehouse and Team does an AMAZING job with lawn care. He asked me to give him a year, but he and his team turned things around in just 3 months. For 10 years I did everything I could to reduce weeds and increase grass, but it just went from bad to worse. I hired several people to help...no improvements. I called Ben Whitehouse whose name I received from a friend...around April that year. In just 3 months, our lawn went from 90% weeds to 90% grass. By the end of the year, no weeds. Incredible turnaround!!! We had our house appraised the following year, and the appraiser couldn't get over our lawn. We have used Spring-Green/Pineville since 2014. Prior to this, we had issues with Scott's and Tru-Green in which they would send a man to our property, he would walk around just looking at our lawn, would get back in his truck and leave without spraying any fertilizer, herbicide, or any product on our lawn, but still send us a bill for $90 (I would be away at work, but my spouse would quietly observe this from the second floor of our home). None of this nonsense has occurred with Spring-Green. We like the upfront pricing, and the discount we receive if we pre-pay before the beginning of a new lawn season. Ben (the owner) sends newsletters on how frequently to water the lawn, and other tips that home owners can do to optimize their lawn. We have been very satisfied, and plan to continue using Spring-Green to care for our lawn. read more

Spring Green did a fantastic job on my yard in my first year as a customer. I recently moved into an existing home in Waxhaw. When I first moved in, the Bermuda grass was patchy and we had large trees in the back that prevented grass growth. After taking out the overgrown trees, Spring Green helped me get my yard looking great. Now I feel like I have one of the better looking yards in the neighborhood, all in just the first year. I couldn't have done it on my own. I would definitely recommend Spring Green for your lawn care needs. I also love the emails that Ben Whitehouse sends out. I began using Spring Green a year ago after my previous provider discontinued service to my area. I was having trouble with weeds invading my yard and several areas where the grass was thin. Ben and his team inspected my yard and made several recommendations, including a soil test. This year, though the grass is still dormant, it is visibly thicker and my yard is one of only 2 or 3 on my street that does not have weeds popping up everywhere. Many of my neighbors use other providers, which further proves that Ben Whitehouse and his team know what they are doing. As an aside, their fire ant treatment is an annual application and I only had to treat 2 or 3 places that were near the property line. read more

Spring Green "Lawn Care" trespassed onto my property & sprayed herbicides on all of my yard plants, including native grasses, tulips, black raspberry plants as well as others. The owner came & spoke to me. While he did come & speak with me, he also lied to me about several things, & has suggested that he pay me for the damages off the books. Very shady tactics. They will pay me, with a company check or we will be calling our lawyer. We have filed a police report & we have video evidence. My lawn was a disaster from trying to maintain weeds and yearly processes for many years myself.. Then I started using Spring Green of Pineville and it has improved dramatically. Even my trees are benefitting from the services. Great customer attention also, Ben has been really great about getting back to me if I have any questions or concerns. If I see something that I am not sure of he comes down and tells me what it is and takes care of it. My lawn is primarily clay and he did a soil sample to see what other nutrients were needed. My lawn was loaded with weeds and POA and the bermunda has come in so well and the weeds have disappeared and I give the credit to the work Spring Green has done so far. Very pleased. Update: it's been nearly a year now and my lawn is one of the best in the community. My Bermuda this summer has come through very nicely, I never got any winter weeds in my lawn like I had the winter before I had Spring Green and Mr. Whitehouse and his team take over my yard. Ben takes ownership of his business and his customers. He often can be found in the field and is a true "hands on" franchise owner. He takes time to educate customers on what to expect. You would think that he started the company. We have much better results with Ben than with our former small business lawn care company. His pricing is reasonable given the quality of his service. Our Spring-Green service is top notch. After only two years, they've recovered our yard from the old service disaster. Our lawn has never been so lush and weed free. If something does pop up, I just call them and they come out and treat it. I even like the smaller aerator they use. Creates tiny holes which the machine drops seeds into directly. None of those 'turd-like' divots and handfuls of seeds everywhere (as opposed to our old service TruGreen. They were less than a "1"). Thanks Scott and his team. read more

We've been using Spring Green for over 5 years. It takes 2 years to really transform your yard! I tried to do it myself for a while, but I would forget to put down the treatments, or do them at the wrong time. The pre-emergent weed control on my lawn has been great, very impressive. When I started with Spring-Green in Feb 2019, my lawn was a 3. By the end of 2019, it was a 5. Today, June 2020, it is approaching a 7. Attention and effort on my part, coupled with the Spring-Green program has brought great results. Unfortunately, I am back to weekly weeding my entire property, I am out $4326.00 and was purposefully lied to and ghosted. 03/20/2025 - I had Sal Tufano come out to my home for a consultation for services. I stated that my entire goal is that I am looking to eliminate the weeds in the garden bed areas. He mentioned sprucing up with plants and I stated at least 5 times (and probably many more) that we can discuss "beautifying" these areas at a later date...my only concern at this point was getting rid of the weeds and KEEPING THEM AWAY. We previously had rocks in some of these areas and I expressly told Sal that I am unfamiliar with HOW this should be done, just that I am looking for a solution and brought in the professionals to guide me. He told me that we should take all the rocks away and then put down 5 inches of mulch, which will solve my problem. He said the key was that the depth of 5 inches will eliminate the weeds.I asked him how long will that last for and he said we will want to refresh the top because it will get packed down in 1 year, but that will get me through the year with no problems. In retrospect, Sal was a complete "used car salesman" in his tactics, to oversell me and underdeliver and distract me from the process so that I would not ask more clarifying questions, however one thing I can make explicitly clear is that I communicated and over communicated my goal - get rid of the weeds for good and he promised me that his solution for my problem was to put down 5 inches of mulch. 03/26/2025 - The job was completed. Fast forward TWO weeks and I had weeds popping up all over the place. TWO WEEKS passed for something I was promised would be a permanent solution, so long as I added more mulch in 1 year. For $4,326.00, I certainly was lied to and did not get my money's worth. 04/07/25- I contacted both Sal and Jason so that I could show them the weeds that developed over a 2 week span. DID NOT GET A RESPONSE. 04/08/25- I texted again. This time I got a response from Jason: "Hi Lindsey, I did get your text and look over the photos that you sent. I understand that you're frustrated to see weeds pop up after a fresh landscaping project. While the 5-inch mulch barrier is one of the most effective methods for weed suppression, it's important to know that no mulch installation can guarantee 100% weed elimination. Some weeds, particularly those with established root systems or wind-blown seeds, may still find a way through, even with a thick mulch layer. This is a normal and expected part of maintaining any landscape, especially during seasonal transitions. Unfortunately, because we are not licensed pesticide applicators, we are unable to apply any herbicides ourselves. However, many homeowners manage this by spot treating with products like RM43, Roundup, or other similar weed killers--available at most home improvement stores--or by hand-pulling." **Personally, I feel that if spraying these areas from a "licensed pesticide applicator" is the solution, this company should have been honest with me and recommended this solution. I would have thanked them for their time and reached out to a company who COULD help me. Instead, I admitted that I didn't know if they could help me, clearly explained my goals and was lied to so that they could book the job and take my money.** 04/14/25, , 04/17/25, and 04/25/25 - I reached back out explaining to Jason that he must be unaware of my initial conversation with Sal and asked if there was a time the three of us could arrange a call to discuss in person (since they refused the visit to my home). There was no response. **I have also since went back and measured all the mulch areas and none of them even come close to the promised 5 inches of mulch that we paid for. As the home owner, I have the right to have a garden that I will enjoy, so who wants to hear complaints from someone that you hire? We eventually finalized everything, and set a date. His crew was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job--garden looks great. They solved my drainage problem, so I no longer had the threat of water destroying my plants. That was the initial plantings. The crew that came in to finish the 2nd set of plants wasn't so hot. They neglected to put down mulch, and living in the South, you have to have it, so I had to buy it myself and spread it. I asked them about it, and they said Nick said not to--mystery to me. This is not the cheapest landscaping company in Charlotte NC, but they had such grand reviews, I decided to go with them. I'm hoping I can make my garden grow, as I've not had luck in the past, but I'm not even going to bother asking for replacements if some of them die, as the 1-year warranty is iron clad with watering requirements, pest control, soil issues, etc.
