Teachers in this school do not hold any credentials or credentialed teaching permits in K12 that public school districts require. This is shocking because parents pay tons of $ for "private school," but someone without credentials teaches them. They hire some parents as teachers. The facility is so small that kids need to go to another school's gym or tracks. There are no arts or sport extra curriculums.

It's great the class is small so the kids get more attention and care. The school is very safe and they also organized a lot of school activities so we are well connected. Daily fights occur between both boys and girls. Smoking, vaping, alcohol and drugs are a common place at Alvarado Intermediate School. Not much justice for the victims. No substantial consequences for the criminals. Bullying is a part of the culture. Rarely do the offenders receive more than a, "talking to" for their offences. She has been wonderful and she sees the talent and shortcomings of each individual student and works accordingly with them as far as I have experienced. We were brand new to Rowland Heights and didn't know our way around but we live VERY close to the school, so I had my daughter walk home on her first day because of my work schedule. Well, she got lost. The school responded immediately when I showed up at their office. Mrs. Kim, and a P.E. teacher who remembered my daughter (because she looks different than every other student) got in a car to search and the assistant principal called the district safety officer, who drove around in search. Everyone in the office was concerned and involved. Mrs. Kim was the one who found her because she noticed her curly hair. She called me right away. He had his ups and downs but that's normal for most students. He had a great support group of friends and teachers that did the best of their abilities. Mrs Carter was by far my favorite. She always remembered my name in person and on the phone. His principal Mrs Veneration was so understanding and wA very much into his needs. We already miss CJ Morris "again" because I went there from Kindergarten to 5th grade as well. It's so good to see that it's still a very good school for the local kids.
