This school is an amazing school and has wonderful teachers, and friendly staff. Our son started…read morehere in TK and graduated from 5th grade. He had his ups and downs but that's normal for most students. He had a great support group of friends and teachers that did the best of their abilities. Mrs Carter was by far my favorite. She always remembered my name in person and on the phone. His principal Mrs Veneration was so understanding and wA very much into his needs. We already miss CJ Morris "again" because I went there from Kindergarten to 5th grade as well. It's so good to see that it's still a very good school for the local kids.

Also, I've never been so targeted by a teacher before, not saying any names, but it's so bad that everyone in the class tries to comfort me after the class ends? Someone from the class where the teacher "slapped a kid" said that she never laid her hands on the kid and that they just wanted her gone. Ruined the teacher's entire career. Then also, we don't have money for paper. Every class is asking for donations, and you may think "Oh that's fine I can buy my kid paper," yea? Well can you buy your kid a new teacher, because we don't have money for a science teacher, so we added the science to a Chinese teacher. All her kids are complaining that they don't understand, and the teacher's trying her hardest, but she didn't apply for this. Oh, and I can assume that instead of things being due before the class starts, or midnight, instead its due at 10pm and they added 18 minutes to our class, that TOTALLY won't increase the pressure on the kids, right? -really putting those 988 posters to good use. Great Job!

Children from my family has attended Vine Elementary school for years and it has always been an…read moreelite school until these past few years. but one thing that bothered me the most was how Mrs Levesque humiliated a staff member from the after school program (RAS) because she made a report to CPS when there was reason to be concerned for a child's safety and well being. I learned that this staff member was fired for contacting CPS, as she is mandated to do. As many know and I, myself knows very well, that ALL school staff members are mandated reporters. One day when I went to pick up my granddaughter I saw Ms. Levesque approach this staff member and a few mins later that staff member came to release my grandkid and saw tears down her cheecks so i asked what was wrong the staff member told me that mrs Levesque had just humiliated her with saying to use this as a lesson to be more professional not only for herself but her staff and to learn to do her job better. I found that very disturbing that the principal would tell her this after this woman had already lost her job and it was her last day at Vine..not professional at all.
