Class of 2025 student here (Junior as of writing this review)…read more Academics are rigorous but fair. The teacher quality is varied, but most teachers (I took mostly AP and Honors) are fair and motivated. Student organizations (clubs, teams, ASB) vary, some being well organized, and some being poorly organized (it's just what happens when you put students in charge of something). School events are nice too, HOCO and Prom are overly expensive though (Rowland has their homecoming for ONLY $20, ours was ~$80) The staff are helpful, I went to the office 15+ times in Sophomore year because my mom sent me to school with the flu, and the cold. The office administration were understanding and dealt with all situations well. Counselors are helpful. Fights rarely break out. School is a mix between two majority races - Hispanic and Asian. Security does their job well, and the school has procedures in case of emergency. In the 2022-23 school year, a false shooter call forced the school to lockdown procedures. This situation was rapidly taken care of. Not gonna lie, our sports teams aren't the best (except Badminton, they're really good). The STEM pathways in the school are great. School lunch improved drastically in the last few years (it's also free). Would give a 5 star but our campus isn't in optimal shape. Restrooms smell terrible. The bottom floor boys restroom had its stall door stolen as a result of the "devious lick" trend in 2021. The boys restroom up stairs always smells like weed and raspberries (vapes).

This is the most awesome middle school ever! We had so many cholos and cholas. It was like damned…read moreif picked on their PE team, damned if you weren't. Either way, 5th period PE always sucked because it was consistently hot as balls by the time we got out there. And I had 5th period both years ... I mean who likes to go through puberty so early? But once upon a rainy 5th period PE, my teacher selected me, Sadeer and Diahnna to go out and collect the soccer cones off the field. As good little robots, we agreed. The rest of the class remained inside a classroom on the other side of campus. It was cold and we were drenched ... AND we all had to go pee. We waited outside the locker room and then looked at each other. Sadeer: Who has the key? Diahnna: I don't. Me: I don't either. Sadeer: Sh*t, we have to go get it. Who wants to go? Me: I don't know but hurry up! I've got to go pee. Diahnna: So do I. Sadeer: Shhhhhhh .... hahaha. Ok, ok shhhhh .... Me: SHUT UP SADEER! GO GET THE KEY. Sadeer: Ok, ok. I'll go get it. (5 minutes later after being in the rain and getting COMPLETELY wet.) Sadeer: Ok, I've got the key. Shhhhhh ... hahaha. Shhhhhh .... Diahnna & Me (jumping up and down to hold it in): Hurry up!! We got to pee! Sadeer: Well, geez. So do I! Just relax. Shhhhh .... hahahaha. Don't go pee in your pants now ... Me thinking to myself as Sadeer unlocks the door: Sh*t. Too Late. So the other girls flee to the bathroom and I just stroll because guess what? ... no more urgency. After that incident, I wrapped my jacket around my pants and inconspicuously walk to the classroom where we joined the rest of the PE(e) class. All I could think was for once, THANK GOD IT'S 5TH PERIOD. One more class to go. After I got up from my 5th period seat ... I remember thinking "wow! I didn't know wooden seats soaked up that pee smell so well." But guess what? Any kind of embarrassment went away after I got home ... only because my mom knew how to express the exact words of comfort. Me: Mommy ... I peed in my pants today. Mommy: That's ok ... everyone does it.

Classes are from monday through friday 8am-2pm (if i remember correctly) which is heaven compared to education in other countries like say asia which is a full time job imo back then classes were pretty boring not very teacher student interactive and honestly i didnt learn anything (i learned more in elementary school and junior high than high school which to me is just for show to get into college). You get 5 or 6 classes (sometimes 7 classes for those honor AP students) so youre basically running from class to class which is difficult for shy kids (ok me) to make any real substantial friends not to mention i didnt even know high school counselors were a thing (wish they advertised that its your job right to help students who need it). wish classes were more fun and interactive actually useful that you could use later in life. the american public high school education system could use an update like teach fun classes like psychology even astrology, kids are old enough to understand even relate. other than that im not complaining. i still rather attend school in america than asia where everything is a competition since day one.

Track…read more I love this track. I didn't want to write a review in fears you all would want to come and run here too. I wouldn't suggest it as there are wild animals that can sneak up on you. You can die, so don't come. Anyhow, this has been one of the best tracks I've had the pleasure of jogging in. Beautifully maintained and never over populated with those things called people. The surrounding scenery is calming. A bit of a scenic feel, but not far from home. Open M-F 6ish AM to 7ish PM. Luckily if I decide to come or leave before what is considered permitted hours...I can sneak in through an area that I refuse to disclose. If you find yourself in need of a good jog, look elsewhere, please. (Hacienda hiking trail is walking distance) Thanks XOXO B

Parents please make sure your children are receiving their full lunch!! I was told by my daughter…read morethat lunch personnel were telling her she owed money and were taking her lunch away. I was pretty upset since I went with autopay to avoid her receiving an alternate lunch last year. I went to myschoolbucks to find out what happened. I added $35 to the already $10 i already had. Today i went to school and find out why was her food taken away, they stated they have a new system but that they werent giving alternate lunches. I went and asked my daughter again and in presence of her teacher once again she stated that the lunch ladies not the students were taking her lunch away. She stated that her peanut butter and jelly was taken away only to eat corn and juice!! This is BS!! I went on autopay to avoid this.... how can someone have the heart to take a childs lunch away. I also dont understand how they can tell the student they owe money when in all honesty can be embarrassing for the student in front of their friends. Even worse when they have funds. Apparently students are not to be told that they owe money according to the district, but guess what it is, thats how I found out!! This is BS and breaks my heart that my daughter is going through this... come on corn and juice!! My daughter was almost in tears when the teacher and i asked her about what she eats during lunch!! This is unacceptable and should be addressed immediately!! I'm still to receive a call from Emmalyn Coles regarding this, i called twice second time leaving a voicemail. After to scholl personnel this isn't the first incident, parents need to ask their children it is happening often and ita NOT RIGHT!! I expect a formal apology for My daughter and I. It just brings to tears just to imagine food out if my daughtera plate and leaving her to eat corn and juice!! What if it was your daughter????

She got suspended for defending herself. There is a video of her getting first and no one broke up the fight. Even when she tried to end the fight the other girl CONTINUED to hit her. After all this they continued to bully her online about the fight. No one is taking this seriously. This is why many kids commit suicide because there's only so much a little girl can take. Now, she's scared to attend school and she no longer feels safe.

This school has a running track, stretching areas, tennis courts, handball courts, basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields that are open to the public depending on whether it is being used by the school itself or any other local community organization. Yup, there a couple of porta-potties here too. It's a dirt track, so use some running shoes that you wouldn't mind getting dirty. The aesthetics doesn't compare to Sierra Vista High School's more recently renovated track, but it gets the job done if you're looking for a place to walk/jog. You can also run the sidewalk circumference of the school which happens to be the conveniently measured distance of 1 mile which can be used whether school is in session or not. Here's a quick 3D video look of it. http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/30591254#video Pickup basketball seems to happen on nights/weekends whenever the kids bball leagues aren't going on. This is a nice free community area to get out and be active.

There is one teacher who really appears to bond just a little better than the other. Not sure what his name is but as the kids where walking up to get their promotional certificates for graduation yesterday 6/4/25 he did special gestures with each and everyone of his students which was a treat to watch. Thank you to that awesome teacher! My biggest complaint was that the promotion was exceptionally long! I attended a college graduation and a HS graduation both within these last 3 weeks and this 8 grade promotion by far was the longest! Maybe if the principal hadn't gone on and on and talked so much it would have made it much shorter and more enjoyable. The video at the end was absolutely great and as each one signed off made it even more special. This is the second promotion I have attended for this school. Maybe next year make it more about the kids and not the principal and shorten it. Congratulations to class of 2025! Go little sharks and become big sharks!
