There was zero sales pressure, and running the multi-zone setup has saved me a ton of money on energy bills, esp on days when the upstairs gets so hot but the downstairs stays cool! Josh and his crew were great! Last week we removed an AC/heater unit that was installed on our roof by another local vendor in 2016. We elected to install a Fujitsu heat pump on the ground and replace all of our ductwork. Josh was very professional and answered all of our initial questions. He did not try to sell us a system and a VIP package like the initial vendor did. Furthermore he didn't try to cross sell everything he could do. I actually stopped taking advantage of the yearly VIP maintenance from the initial vendor because I knew another sales pitch was coming. When I commented on how imbalanced the airflow is in my house, rather than just suggest adding a register (as another company did) he pointed out that what was really needed was additional returns to better move air around the rooms that weren't getting it. He was thoughtful at coming up with a solution, and during the course of the job, had to be a bit creative when the first idea didn't work out. His quote was extremely competitive - equivalent monetarily, but including significantly more work. I don't think there is enough room here to tell you how amazing this company is! Josh and his team are the best of the best! You won't find a company with as much integrity and passion as Killen Mechanical! My husband and I have lived in our current home for 11 years and have dealt with an HVAC system that never worked right. The air would be blowing hard in one room and hardly at all in another room. We also had dust issues and could always smell the attic. We would have to run it all day to get to a desired temperature, but still never felt right. We figured it was because we had a really old system. When Josh came in and looked at our system he quickly saw what was wrong and got excited about fixing it because he knew he could make it so much better. It's tough to find honest and experienced AC repair companies. I really lucked out in finding Josh @ Killen Mechanical. He was prompt in providing a quote and he stuck to it! Whereas other AC repair companies immediately tried to sell us an entirely new system with new electrical or made some ethically questionable recommendations, Josh worked hard to keep our costs reasonable and was always giving me the straight scoop. When the problem proved to be more than a compressor leak which was the original issue, Josh spent a great deal of time pressure testing the other components, even though it created delays for his other scheduled jobs. He also dealt with a dent in the new AC unit without making me fret one bit-- going to the dealer the next morning and switching it out for a good one. He was really good about explaining everything as he went so I was 100% comfortable with his work. You can tell he has years of experience under his belt and takes great pride in his work. At the end of the day, Killen Mechanical delivered five star service at a very reasonable price. When he first stopped by to provide an initial assessment of my old 30 year old HVAC system which stopped working, he provided a straight forward assessment of my options, which he explained would be driven by how long I planned on staying in the house. Throughout the installation process which took two weeks, I appreciated Josh's attention to detail and how he would walk me through all aspects of the job. His key focus was to make us as comfortable as possible in our house and replaced vent locations accordingly.
