    Italian

This is a great spot tucked away in the deep SW of Calgary. Found it on Yelp as I was looking for somewhere new (at least to me) to bring my Yorkshire Angel for a drink and a nibble. Easy to find in Silverado (not the town in the movie of the same name). Kildaires' is nicely decorated and split into restaurant and lounge. They also have a nice patio and a private room that would be good for a small group. As luck would have it Wednesdays are half price wine and pizza is on special. We started with an Argentine who was very good....wait, that almost got weird. An Argentinian Malbec and an order of chili-lime mussels. Mussels were great. The attentive server brought a pizza to the couple next to us and I was all like "WTF is that?" And she said it is cheap pizza night and I was all like "I am down." Ordered the Italian. Excellent is all I can say! Give this place a try!!

I've always wanted to try going to Kildares for their wing night and now after a long delay I finally made it. Kildares is found in the deep SW in Silverado with an outdoor south facing patio. Kildares wing night is just like your average wing night, price maybe different from one restaurant to another but to me it's all the same. Kildares offers 33 cent per wing or $3.30 a pound with a minimum of 10 wings per order. You can't opt out of getting a drink and if you do have a beverage water is excluded until you finally got your wings on your table. With only 19 flavours there's not much to choose from but they do have your typical sauce that you can find anywhere. I would have given a full 5 stars but my experience wasn't all that great, I ordered my 20 usual sauced wing when I got it was was cold, not even room temperature cold just cold cold. The wings were over fried as if they forgot to change the oil in the fryers prior to open, the wait wasn't long though. A standard 9 mins from placing the order to having it delivered to your table is pretty fast consider other places usually take a tad bit longer. Kildares is worth the wing night if you live in the deep SW and don't want to travel north to go for another location. I would recommend it, it's a +1 in my books

Plowing through the Nachos which are amazing. Home made salsa.

Awesome place. A friend recommended this place and we thought we would give it a shot. The Nachos to start...great way to start. Ordered the Sheppard's Pie and Reuben Sandwich with the Beef Barley soup on the side. Good stuff..and not too salty. This place is definitely worth 5 stars.

Went here for dinner today. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great the staff very friendly and the food was amazing. I had the Shepherds Pie and it was by far the best I've ever tasted and a friend of mind had the Salmon and he really enjoyed it as well. Prices are very good for the quality and amount of food you get and great selection of beer. I would recommend this place to anyone if your in the area give it a try you will not be disappointed!

This was the vibe on Canada Day at Kildares.

Nice pub with usually great fish n chips. We go often early evening and it's never been crowded.

Here's what we ordered: Mango boba - surprisingly tart and could've used a bit of sweetness Peanut chicken salad - flavorful and refreshing, with noodles at the bottom Fish tacos with sweet potato fries - the beer-battered fish was crispy and delicious While the food was solid and the patio atmosphere was great, the service really impacted our experience. When we were ready to pay, it was difficult to get our server's attention. My husband eventually had to approach her across the patio, and she processed our payment while standing right there. It seemed like they were short-staffed the day we visited, which might explain the delays, but the lack of attention was still frustrating. Overall, good food and a nice setting, but I'd give it 3.5 stars due to the service issues

Food here is just alright. Fish tacos weren't bad but the fish wasn't crispy at all. The quasedilla "tortilla" was a little thick. The meat in the BBQ rice bowl was pretty good, but the ratio of rice to everything else was too high. The salad was pretty good and quite a large serving. We had A LOT of trouble flagging down our waitress, especially near the end when we were ready to pay, which was quite frustrating and the main reason I'm docking stars. However, I will say the setup outside is really nice. There are hanging plants, pretty large tables, music that's not too loud, and overall a nice vibe. I think for a slow, casual evening out this place will have you covered.

The wine list isn't huge, but what they offer is curated and impressive. We ordered the Wedge Salad and Truffled Arancini. Both arrived about 15 minutes later. The salad was underdressed, and the Arancini, while hot, lacked the tomato sauce that would have elevated the dish. Minor issues, but we moved on. Unfortunately, the main course experience was disappointing. After waiting 45 minutes, our entrees finally arrived--at room temperature. At that point, we were too hungry to send them back and wait another 20 minutes. When we shared our concerns, the staff initially offered complimentary desserts, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. After further discussion, they comped both entrees and provided a $25 gift certificate, which was a fair gesture and appreciated. The GM and Bobby personally apologized and invited us to ask about "little surprises" in the wine cellar next time, which was a nice touch. Overall, great wine and recovery effort, but the kitchen timing and food temperature need serious improvement. Hoping for a better experience next time because the potential is there.

I followed the more than 48 hour rule to cancel the room without penalty and was told that its was during their blackout period and should have read the fine print. I'm really not even sure if that is legal. The hotel takes the full amount of the charge for the room at the time of booking, not at the time of check in and keeps the money regardless of when you cancel if it falls "in their black out period" that is not clearly identified when booking those dates. You better not have plans change or have a family emergency! RIP OFF. Buyer beware, do not book.
