Kiesel builds top quality custom guitars for a great price. Fast turn around compared to the rest of the industry. I currently have 4 with 1 in the oven. Love the fact you get a chance to ask Jeff questions live on YT,FB,IG weekly.

I have purchased six custom guitars from Kiesel, and experienced very strong customer service, and exceptional quality. If I ever have an issue, they take care of me without question. Example 1: I ordered an Ultra V and had an issue keeping it in tune. I believe it was a defect with the Floyd Rose, and not related to build quality. My salesperson, Flock, sent me a pre-paid return label right away and they brought it back to inspect. After they received it, I began to have buyer's remorse and feel that the guitar was not right for me, tuning issue aside. Flock told me they would give me a full refund, no questions asked. Instead, I applied the refund to another custom Kiesel AM7. Example 2: On my latest guitar, I wanted Jet Black Raw Tone finish, and I sent Flock my specs by email. He wrote up a build sheet and sent it to me for approve. I did not notice that the Raw Tone part was there, but the Jet Black part was missed. I received the guitar completed just 6 weeks after I ordered it, but it was natural finish. Flock again came to the rescue, again returning it at no cost to me, and they made a brand new body with the correct finish. It's beautiful! I like other brands too, and I own other brands, but I will continue to be a Kiesel customer because of the service and the end-result.

I have had Kiesel build me two custom guitars. I went to their showroom and Flock collaborated with me on the custom builds. I had high expectations on the end result and was blown away at the quality and complete adherence to my custom designs. I have a collection of electric guitars and Kiesel exceeds my expectations compared to the "off the shelf" mass guitar manufacturers (Gibson, Fender, PRS, etc.) Kiesel will build whatever the customer wants, and delivers big!

Amazing Strat build by Kiesel Custom Guitars!

I have to say... amazing. The guitar I wanted was very specific. I gave Flock very specific and exacting details for my guitar. Note, the guitar I wanted was not the typical Kiesel build. The guitar Kiesel built for me is nothing short of perfect. A Strat style guitar with serious wood and hardware. Tone that can't be compared by any other guitar. Flock is an amazing person. A serious guitar gear head and a real pro. When I picked up my guitar I was speechless. I went so far as mocking up the guitar I wanted in photoshop. When I open the case my eyes exploded. Kiesel made the exact guitar I specified. There is an energy at Kiesel. I now have a living and vibrant instrument. I've owned many guitars and will NEVER buy another unless it's made by Kiesel. If you're looking for a guitar that's average go elsewhere. If you want a guitar that's a professional quality instrument. Get Kiesel. Tone. Exacting quality. Perfect customer service. Lastly; this guitar was a steal. It should cost 4,000 or more and has a value of 10x that. Thank you Kiesel. I'll be back for more!

Amazing First time Experience!!! where do I begin. This was my first time coming in to order a Kiesel guitar. Flock was a stand up guy from beginning to end. My first Kiesel guitar has exceeded all expectations. - Ordering: The initial appointment was great , safety and cleanliness were definitely taken into consideration in their showroom. I had a few different build Ideas, Flock was patient and guided me through the ordering process , and hooked me up with an awesome build. - Wait: Given the current covid situation, I definitely anticipated a delay(which was fine by me) . Nope ! guitar arrived exactly within the stated time frame I was given . There was an issue with a cosmetic decision on the guitar , I was unreachable , the Kiesel guys made an executive decision which actually came out better than my initial idea. I now fully trust these guys on my next build . Delivery: I drove down to to SD to pickup the Guitar. It was beautiful, I inspected for any flaws and couldn't find any. Ownership: I've had the guitar now for 90 days and can honestly say I have not had any issues with the guitar, and it plays like a dream. I've had a few technical questions with setup, The guys over at Kiesel were prompt with their responses. definitely a customer for life !

Before I post this complaint about Kiesel Guitars let me first say that I have 4 Carvin guitars and 1 with the Kiesel name on it; all were custom orders. In addition I have 3 Carvin Basses and 2 basses with the Kiesel name on them, again all were custom orders. I put this out there only to establish the fact that I certainly have been a repeat customer! I'm really a bass player and have quite a few other basses but still I have my share of Carvin/Kiesel instruments. I'm from out of town but because I was in San Diego on business, I took advantage of the situation and walked into the Kiesel showroom planning on ordering one of their "P" basses; I had in mind exactly what I wanted to order. When I walked into the showroom the individual, who I won't name, could not have been ruder! This is a person with whom I have worked on every other order and who knows me fairly well by now. There was only one other customer in the entire show room, not busy at all. Rather than greet me and say...give me just a minute and I be right with you, he simply (and quite rudely) said..."I don't have time to talk, I'm really busy". "I'm doing a lot of things for the company now, so I don't have time to talk". With that I said ok...talk to you later and I left. I will never order another Carvin/Kiesel product...way to many other great choices! I left Kiesel and went to another San Diego store called Pitbull Audio...very nice people who are glad to see you come into their store. I custom ordered a "P" style bass from them made by Sandberg in Germany. Together we went through the online build feature and ordered exactly the bass that I was going to order from Kiesel...personally I'm really excited about this one! I consider this to be a fantastic bass and with shipping out the door it will be around $2500.00; in my opinion that's a bargain for a completely custom bass with shipping from Germany! I don't know what is going on with Kiesel but it's certainly not the company that it used to be. My prediction is that they will be out of business in a year or two if they continue to treat customers in this manner!

Not the guitar in the review, just my other Type X 6 string.

I just recently purchased my second Type X, I found an 8 string X on the "Guitars In Stock" on the website already somewhat built to specs I wanted and for a great price too, since it was already built. After I made the purchase, Flock called me afterwards and I guess I lost the purchase by 8 minutes, no worries. Flock, who is Manager of the Showroom, offered me a killer deal to do a new build of the 8 string Type X with some room for options at no additional charge. We changed up the finish a bit, kept the Black Limba top, doing a beautiful matte trans aqua burst over that, Lithium bridge humbucker, Beryllium neck humbucker, multi scale...just beautiful. However I did want to change up the neck and do a 3 peace Purple Heart. Flock suggested a Walnut/Purple Heart 3 ply, this was only a few extra bucks, but for a custom built-to-your-specs guitar, whats a few extra bucks? He also threw in the free RUSH build for no additional cost. Flock and Kiesel are just amazing to work with, their craftsmanship, instruments, communications and customer service are second to none. I look forward to working with Flock again on assisting me in my growing collection of Type X builds. I will be calling in for a third X with a similar build to this one, only another 6 string. Do yourself a favor and call Kiesel, press 2 for the Showroom and ask for Jason "Flock".

Great instruments. Bought my #1 guitar from here a couple years ago. Worth it if you can afford it.

My son has been taking guitar lessons here for months and absolutely loves his instructor, Tristan. Unfortunately, the issue isn't with the instructors, it's with the front-end communication and customer service. After two of my credit cards were compromised, a number of auto-renew subscriptions needed updating. At no point, phone, text, or in person--did anyone from Guitar Center notify me of a declined payment, despite the Lessons Lead repeatedly claiming they "called" and "spoke to me in person." I checked my call history. The last call I received from Guitar Center was October 16, and it was simply Tristan confirming my son was running two minutes late. That's it. No billing conversation. No declined-card conversation. No warning. Nothing. Beyond that, my son (a minor) was physically in the store for his lessons throughout November. If someone had truly spoken to me "in person," as claimed, I would (1) remember it and (2) logically update my payment method on the spot. That's basic common sense. But no one--neither Lily nor Greg, the two people supposedly escalating the issue--ever approached us. In fact, I couldn't identify them if I tried, because no one ever actually spoke to us. The most upsetting part? My son was left sitting alone, waiting, because his lessons were suddenly canceled without any communication. No one told him. No one told me. That is not acceptable treatment of a child. When I reached out for clarification, I received a generic, copy-and-paste email insisting they had reached out "multiple times." They hadn't. And when I pointed this out, with dates and call records, the response doubled down instead of acknowledging the missteps. I pride myself on honesty and integrity, especially when it comes to my children. Being told that things happened that objectively did not happen is frustrating, dismissive, and frankly unprofessional. To be absolutely clear: No calls were made. No in-person conversations occurred. No texts were sent. And my child should never have been left unattended because of an internal communication breakdown. The instructors are great, but the lesson administration needs serious improvement. Parents deserve transparent communication, accountability, and accuracy, especially when the wellbeing and experience of a child are involved. I hope management takes this feedback to heart so other families don't have the same experience. My son loved his lessons and his instructor, but the customer service side made what should have been an easy fix both stressful and disappointing.

I brought in my Taylor K24ce, and I also left my Taylor GS Mini that day for a neck reset. At drop-off, the front desk tech assured me the low E buzz on the K24ce would be addressed and handled as part of the standard setup. Both guitars stayed with them for nearly two weeks. I called a few times since I wasn't getting updates, and eventually was told both were ready for pickup. After driving 30 miles, I tested them in the shop. The GS Mini was done well--I could see an improvement in the neck, and I appreciated that. But when I took out my K24ce, it wasn't tuned or wiped down properly. After I tuned it, the exact same low E buzz was still there. How could that go unnoticed, I wondered--had the guitar been played after it was tuned, they would have then noticed the buzz and should have informed me by email, rather than having me come all the way down. I mentioned it to the owner, and he took the guitar to the back for about 10 minutes. When he returned, he told me that if I wanted to leave it, I'd need to pay another $90 for a deeper inspection, since it might be a more technical issue. The tech who reassured me at drop-off was right there but didn't say a word. It was close to the end of working hours, so I figured James would just have me leave it at no cost. When he didn't, I didn't feel comfortable leaving it again. I really expected a more thorough check right then or at least a suggestion to leave it at no cost. After all, I 100% mentioned the buzz to the tech at drop-off. In the end, my K24ce is my primary instrument--it's the one I rely on most--while the GS Mini is just a backup. I ended up paying close to $400 for both the setup and the neck reset. The GS Mini was done well, but the whole experience left me feeling like I spent $400 just to fix a $600 GS Mini, while my main guitar's issue was never resolved. Considering all the time, effort, cost, and travel, I really expected a full assessment and clearer communication before it was marked complete. I've attached a video so you can hear the buzz yourself.
