Cute little play

I just walked out , amazing place , are you looking for safe place for your kids , this is a place . I mean it Clean , perfect atmosphere This is a gem in Oakland

First time visit was for my sons 3rd birthday party. I was in search for an indoor space and that's when I came across Kids Play Zone on yelp. I know it's silly to just book something without seeing the place or calling to ask questions. But the reviews were really good and the layout of the place was what I was looking for. I was not disappointed when I showed up! The space was clean and just as it was pictured on the website. Indoor play structure, ball pit, pretend play kitchen, market, vet station, an area for little babies and so much more. The kids looooovvveeeedddd the place. They were able to run around freely and play as much as they wanted. There was no schedule time about when to eat or play (most places I looked at had a set time when we could play). Not only did the kids love the space so did the parents. It was space for parents to hang out while the kids played in a safe place. There is a party room separate from the play area. Which I liked as it separates the play and eat time! Kels was very helpful and communicative throughout the party! I loved that she had rented party decorations available to use. Kels sends out a rule sheet with notes and advice and I highly suggest the food advice lol. Finger foods is definitely the way to go! Overall the space was great and will be coming back for drop in plays! I am so happy we found this place!

My toddler had the time of his life here yesterday! We found Kids Play Zone through Instagram/Yelp when looking for some rainy day activities in Oakland for kids. The first visit waiver was easy to fill out and the space has lots to do! My son really enjoyed the ice cream truck and play kitchen. We enjoyed the ball pit and the slide area too! Super clean and big enough to socially distance. My husband really enjoyed the chill music too and that we could sit and let our son play independently when he wanted to or engage more if needed. Would highly recommend!

Had the pleasure of having my sons 2nd birthday party here! We had first learned about this little gem months ago during a rainy day. We ended up purchasing the 5 visit pass and our little one not only loved to visit, but it was nice to see him become more comfortable each time we went. We love how there are so many different stations for the kids to play like the play structure and pretend play areas. It's the perfect place for a little one to stay occupied and explore safely. The owner is such a great woman who really cares about her business and the community. She does an excellent job of keeping the place organized and clean. For the birthday party, I really appreciated how organized and helpful she was. We were glad our small group was able to experience this hidden gem in West Oakland; with everyone raving how much they enjoyed the place - adults and kids alike.

I had both my December babies party here in December. Kelinda was so sweet and helpful in making my decision. Not only was the place perfect but her hospitality was unmatched along with her mother. They made sure everything was smooth and were playing music along while the kids played. It was a whole VIBE! I would definitely recommend this place for any mom or parties you're having for your little ones if you want to do something intimate but fun this is your go to! She also had decoration packages but i already had a theme. She made sure to have everything set up and it was so perfect and beautiful. So grateful. This review is from December 2021.. so sorry it took my awhile to write my review! Me and my family will definitely be back. I'm all about supporting woman an empowering eachother! Thank you Kelinda and your mom for making my babies birthday so special

Our three year old granddaughter had a fun time at this clean and well run venue. the place zone is not as big as a suburban kid party place, but it had enough activities to keep the children engaged.

Ball pit!

The owner, Kelinda, was so sweet, and answered all of my questions when I called to ask about rates and days of operation. When my kids (8 and 2) arrived, our temperatures were taken and were asked to sanitize our hands. There is a shoe and coat area that we placed out belongs in, then the kids dove directly into the ball pit!! We bought a package before leaving, and will return within a few weeks!! Very safe, indoor area for the little ones to explore and play....and for me to relax LOL. Can't wait to return!

My daughter having the best time.

Happy to have an indoor play space in Oakland. Much needed, especially on rainy days. Keeps the little ones entertained and confined!

The staff was incredibly nice, organized, and helpful, which made the whole party feel stress-free. The facility was very clean and there was so much variety for the kids to do -- climbing wall, arcade games, obstacle course, giant jumping pad, and plenty of space to run around and play. Every kid had an amazing time, and multiple parents told me afterward that they would love to have their own child's birthday party there. Highly recommend for a fun and easy birthday party!

Off the bat, I want to say this is one of the more affordable indoor playgrounds I've been to (some I've gone to will charge for adults?!) and there was no time limit (some places give you a time limit of how long you can play for) so that was a plus. They do require you to purchase their socks (can't be grippy socks from anywhere else) but even with the socks and day pass, I want to say it was only $35? The kids loved running around the swing ropes, the indoor playground with slide, and the big bouncy thingy under the bouldering wall. My only concern about the bouncy thingy by the bouldering wall is there aren't any safety rails or things around it and I can't tell if it's safer with or without it but I definitely needed to stay close by in case he bounced off the entire cushion thingy. If you have highly sensitive little ones or neurodivergent kiddos, this place may be a tad overstimulating with the arcade right smack dab in the middle. Like other reviewers had mentioned, it would be nice if the arcade was slightly away from the physical play so that kids aren't distracted/overstimulated by the arcade screens. We did eventually end our outing at the arcades (spent another $40 on the game card...sigh) but luckily we won a big jackpot from one of the games to make it all worth it! Of note, you can't really wear your shoes in the bathroom which is kinda gross so bear that in mind. All in all, definitely one of the better indoor playgrounds in the Bay Area!

This place has been around since my parents were little and they've been there too! Pretty neat. We went as soon as it opened and the park was not overly packed at all it was really nice. I plan on getting out with my kiddo whenever I get the chance as I saw many mothers just hanging out with lunch for their kiddo for the day and I just loved that idea. After the…read moreinitial drop-in class yesterday we purchased weekly classes with the full expectation this initial great experience will only be surpassed. Husband & wife team Matt and Chelsea (owners) and Matt's sister Stephanie are lovely. It's a really great space and Matt is preternaturally good with younger kids. I shadowed my son for a bit in the studio to observe both my son's behavior in a structured environment and the instructors' teaching style. My son is both young and inherently independent (and often distracted) so this was bound to be revealing. Matt and Chelsea's approach to teaching is closer to informed guidance and it seems to work very well with my son and the other kids I observed. They let the child initiate their creative intent and then equip them with the technical information they need in a manner that is both empowering and not overwhelming. As for my son's proclivity to essentially 'not listen,' Matt in particular was excellent at focusing my son's attention on the task at hand and contextualizing what needed to be done so that he could 'own it.' It's clear his forthcoming studio experiences will be about so much more than learning and enjoying ceramics. This isn't 'OK class today we're going to make a coil-built pot. First I want you to take your clay and...'. Not at all. In an hour and fifteen minutes, my son made two objects in distinctly different techniques: a bowl thrown on the wheel and a slab-built shark. In the course of building those two pieces he was exposed to: centering clay on the wheel; managing the clay to expand, compress, elongate and widen his bowl; keeping his eye on his work; keeping the clay moist; the effects of various pressures applied to the clay on the wheel; scoring and attaching separate pieces with slip; scribing; use of various tools; under-glazing; clean-up, and more. I imagine he'll have to revisit every one of those lessons in subsequent classes but it's a gentle teaching style that works well here. Matt and Chelsea always had an eye on each of the kids and were great about transitioning between them to give guidance in a way that seemed very natural. The space itself is wonderful and can only be described as luminous. Well, that and clean. This is not a stereotypical 'mad potter's studio,' nor is it an anal 'everything in its place mausoleum.' Instructors have a clear view of everything going on in the space at all times. There's a front seating for parents/nanny's to hang out (WiFi available) and get some work done if you want to wait. Parking in the neighborhood doesn't seem to be a problem. The most critical measure of Kids-n-Clay is the reaction from my son, who really didn't want to leave and spoke of it more or less non-stop the rest of the day. Looking forward to what's next here. If you attend a drop-in class, be aware it takes about 2-3 weeks before pieces cycle through the process and can come home with you. But that's just ceramics. Highly recommended.

The chicken coup is towards the back where people are allowed to go in, view the chickens' home, and feed them. Someone mentioned that there are rabbits as well but we did not see them today. On to the childrens' play area. It's a little small but meets the needs of the park. I checked the website before coming and could not find any sort of events schedule, but the farm does have an Instagram page so hopefully I can find some helpful info there.
