The staff was incredibly nice, organized, and helpful, which made the whole party feel stress-free. The facility was very clean and there was so much variety for the kids to do -- climbing wall, arcade games, obstacle course, giant jumping pad, and plenty of space to run around and play. Every kid had an amazing time, and multiple parents told me afterward that they would love to have their own child's birthday party there. Highly recommend for a fun and easy birthday party!

Off the bat, I want to say this is one of the more affordable indoor playgrounds I've been to (some I've gone to will charge for adults?!) and there was no time limit (some places give you a time limit of how long you can play for) so that was a plus. They do require you to purchase their socks (can't be grippy socks from anywhere else) but even with the socks and day pass, I want to say it was only $35? The kids loved running around the swing ropes, the indoor playground with slide, and the big bouncy thingy under the bouldering wall. My only concern about the bouncy thingy by the bouldering wall is there aren't any safety rails or things around it and I can't tell if it's safer with or without it but I definitely needed to stay close by in case he bounced off the entire cushion thingy. If you have highly sensitive little ones or neurodivergent kiddos, this place may be a tad overstimulating with the arcade right smack dab in the middle. Like other reviewers had mentioned, it would be nice if the arcade was slightly away from the physical play so that kids aren't distracted/overstimulated by the arcade screens. We did eventually end our outing at the arcades (spent another $40 on the game card...sigh) but luckily we won a big jackpot from one of the games to make it all worth it! Of note, you can't really wear your shoes in the bathroom which is kinda gross so bear that in mind. All in all, definitely one of the better indoor playgrounds in the Bay Area!

Please don't come for my Millennial self ) The building is tucked behind the entrance of Hong Kong BBQ on Redwood Road, near where Southern Comfort is on Castro Valley Blvd. From the outside, it looks pretty run-down and sketchy. There's also no elevator, so you'll need to carry your little one up a flight of stairs. Keep this in mind if you're planning a party, especially if anyone in your group has ADA concerns. Entrance is $16 per child for a maximum of 2 hours, and honestly, two hours is more than enough. The space itself is small but perfect for little kids. It feels like they're exploring their own tiny town with all the pretend-play stations: an ice cream truck, spaceship, chef's kitchen, grocery store, laundromat, pet store/groomer, and pizza parlor. They do have a small reading area, but there are little to no books. The play area is padded, which is great for crawling children. I wasn't totally sure how often things are sanitized. There's a basket for toys that need extra cleaning, which made me wonder how frequently everything is actually wiped down if we're asked to set items aside ourselves. Party space is limited to the entrance/hardwood area. I was told the max is 20 adults and about 15 children, but I honestly can't imagine everyone fitting comfortably in that small space. Overall, it's a great spot for my kid to run around and get her wiggles out. She really enjoyed it and that's what matters most.

It was $15, which was well worth it. The place is small but cute and was packed with kids ranging from 1-4 years old. She was so excited to play in the ball pit and structures. They have little areas set up for imagination play such as a veterinarian area, a grocery check out area with play food and shopping carts, little play houses, reading nooks, blocks areas, so much to play with and explore. It's so cute to see her figure out all of these play areas. We hung out at the tables in the back and let her enjoy herself with all of the other little kids. I felt totally comfortable there and did not need to worry about my little one, like some of those bigger places get a lot of rowdy older kids. Other notes about the facility: They had coffee, tea and water for free. The bathrooms were clean, especially loved the regular changing tables in there (the foldable ones make me nervous). Socks were $3 for play socks with rubber grips on the bottom. She loved it and we all had a great afternoon. We will come back when in Oakland for another play day.

Everything is in one central room so it's easy to "work" and keep an eye on your little one. Lots of pretend play stations with Melissa and Doug or that style of toys - grocery, vet, kitchen -- plus duplo wall, magnatiles, connect 4, a small toddler foam area, and the star of the show, the giant play structure with a swing, slide, and large ball pit. The complimentary water, tea, keurig coffee were a plus for me. I know my little one will want ot be back - this occupied her for about 3 hours and she could have stayed longer.

Appreciate their positive energy. I'd like to note that their policy allows for entrance 10m before party time, but not after? Strange. I had a 2-hour party and I believe it should have been strongly discouraged for a party of my size. I didn't anticipate how rushed it would feel, nor that overage time would be charged by the minute at the end. While I understand their policy and did read about it beforehand, I would have appreciated a clearer recommendation during our initial communications. Given the size of my party (and I had extra people I didn't expect to show up come), more time was realistically needed for setup and breakdown, and a heads-up from peek a boo team would have been helpful, as they are the professionals.

It costs $18 per child for a full day with ins and outs (only weekdays) which is great if you have freedom during the week. It''s $14 per child under 1 years old which is pricey in my opinion however they are free if they are accompanied by a paid sibling. Really no reason to bring a kid under one here unless you're trying to entertain an older sibling. They say there's only 1 adult per child playing but me and my husband have come with just one kid before. Need to have peek-a-boo factory socks which are $3. Here's what they list on their website along with my comments: Junior Play Area (3 - 12 yrs old)- I'd say 12 is a little on the older side for what they have. Ideally 3-8 although I'm sure 8+ kids will have fun. Just hard when there are mostly younger kids around. Toddler/Baby Play Area (0 - 3 yrs old): here there are a couple of slides which kids like, a wood train set that doesn't have correct pieces to piece together (but not many kids will notice), a magnetic wall with gears that adults have to fix for the kids since they are usually pulled apart, very little food for the play kitchen which looks a little dirty, some velcro shapes that don't stick very well to the wall, and the glow up pegs you can stick into the board. It's hard to tell that they light up since the area is well lit in general. There are some duplos with a small lego table and some large cushion lego pieces you can help the kids play with if you are hands on. There's also a music section but sometimes the wall pieces are broken, as well as a large mat piano. Overall, not the best area for 0-3 year olds but it will keep them busy while their older siblings play. Rock Wall- I've never seen anyone on this and wonder if it's just for parties. It's a fairly narrow climb so straightforward. Interactive Games- they are setting up more and more of these money makers and making them flashy and loud to get kids attention. I don't really enjoy these but they include a whack-a-mole, a mini air hockey table, a motorcycle ride that they've had forever with tom from tom and jerry, a stomping game, and a couple of aiming type games. It's overpriced and I'd rather see other options that don't dig into pockets. Huge Party Room- I haven't had a party here so can't say much. Snack Bar- nice to have an option for rushed parents but everything is marked well up. Includes apple sauce pouches, honest juice, and bunch of other packaged snacks from $1+ Parents Seating Area- ample seating on cushions or chairs with small circular tables. Water Fountains- near bathrooms which are large and tidy single rooms. Free WiFi- works fine. Free Indoor Parking Lot- one of the hugest perks of this place. Overall, we like this place and come monthly for its convenience. I think it would be better if they revamped the toddler section and considered something other than the dollar arcade machines. They also have a section of treats/coin machines near the bathrooms, but I would rather see an interactive wall or something educational/interesting.

I'd love to see Spirited Play Labs expand to more places as this is the future IMO (please come to Novato, I'll help!). In other spaces, the stares that come with her stimming can be so difficult to ignore, but here at SPL, we feel safe, accepted, and not judged. That sense of belonging is rare for special needs families, and we are so grateful to have found it here. I love how the staff embraces inclusion and acceptance. it shows in everything they do. I truly wish there were more places and programs like this for our kids, because families like ours need community.

I asked *multiple* times if I could be the one to handle the cupcakes and set them up because I did not want anyone else to mess with them and handle them without care. The staff kept saying that they had to be the ones to handle it. I reiterated several times I wanted them to be careful with them. I had spent all night making them! We get into the party room when it was finally available and of course they had turned over the cupcakes. No apology was given and they even tried to tell me that the cupcakes were like that when they got to them. Um, absolutely not. In the photo I'm attaching there's, three layers of cupcakes, all three layers had cupcakes tipped over. It also seems supremely silly to me that they won't allow any changes to food selection the day of the party but also won't allow you to bring in any food yourself. We also asked for more napkins and one worker gave us a napkin bin and then a minute later another worker came and admonished us saying we shouldn't have that napkin bin. Uh, one of the workers literally handed it to us? What is with the attitude here? The workers act like how you'd expect DMV workers to act. There also was no music that we could really hear in the play rooms and the atmosphere just felt really drab. Especially with things like the air hockey machine being broken. There's really not much help or organization at all. And it's also weird to be pressured to tip like $150 suggested (and going up!) when the staff does barely anything to help. We tipped out of pressure but it left such a sour taste in my mouth. I would not come back here ever to host a party and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.
