I went today with my friend that needed new food industry shoes. I told her I'd tag along and she could use my $10 off discount. OMG, how hard is it to buy a pair of bulky black shoes? I have to admit, they are expensive, even the ones on the clearance racks. I tooled around the clearance non-shoe items on the tables in front of the clearance shoes. Did I really need anything? No. Did I buy anything? Yes. They were practically forcing my hand into my purse to grab my wallet and buy things I didn't really need that were 60% off PLUS an additional 30% off. I mean, was I supposed to walk away from these deals? I'm a sale junkie. I couldn't. I didn't. I bought a three wick candle because it smells like wine, and what gal doesn't like a good red wine? I bought a puzzle because it has a chihuahua and a Westie on it, even though I don't have the table space for a puzzle right now because COVID has forced me to bring my classroom materials home which have rudely claimed stake to where I used to eat. And then my friend didn't even buy the ugly work shoes! She went to the shoe store across from DSW and bought and even uglier (albeit cheaper) pair of work shoes. At least I only spent $9.48.

They were rude and definitely didn't want to help. When my 4 year old told the woman at checkout that he was wearing his new shoes she said "I would have figured that out from the box". We were the only people in the store, so I know his brief attempt at an exchange didn't inconvenience her. We also waited an inordinate amount of time at the register with two employees waking by us more than once without saying anything.

With that said, Tavis somehow went above and beyond all of those experiences this weekend. I felt so awful asking him repeatedly to go hunting for a specific pair of shoes that I wanted but he did it without even an inkling of frustration. When it turned out that they didn't have exactly what I was looking for, he went hunting for it as different stores until they were found. While we waited, we chatted about how much he enjoyed working at Merrell's Outlet Store and how they treated their employees well. He was an absolute pleasure to interact with and I will be looking for him the next time I swing through. Oh yeah...their Jungle Mocs are literally the world's most comfortable shoe and the sales they have on apparel are amazing!

I immediately reached out to customer service through both email and live chat to report the issue. During my first chat, I was assured that the matter would be investigated right away. However, after following up, I was told that the company is not responsible for missing items once the package has been picked up by the carrier. This response is extremely disappointing. I paid for a complete pair of shoes, yet only received one, and despite contacting customer service promptly, I still have not received a resolution. I would appreciate your immediate assistance in either sending the missing shoe or providing another appropriate solution to resolve this issue.

Either the store overall no longer carries what I was looking for, or I may have missed it during the last season. I noticed they had what looked like a shawl to wear indoors and thought it would be perfect in keeping me warm. At the time I visited, there was a sale going on, so that helped a lot. They also had some sleepwear sets, but when I felt them, I noticed the material was very thin - more for maybe spring weather vs winter. I will look for that at a different store altogether. I did not stay long in this store. It was quick in and out. I still had good service when I checked out.

At my last visit in August, I waited a while before an associate assisted me with a scan to do an assessment of which type of shoes I should purchase, stability or neutral. I requested that the scan be emailed to me, but it never was. Over the last week or two, I tried calling to request it. I tried calling closer to closing thinking it would be lighter for them to assist me. The line went unanswered after many rings. This week, I decided to call at 10 a.m. this past Monday when they open. Cerise answered and put me on hold for 12 minutes. I hung up and called again. She said it was busy and got my info and said she would return my call in 15 minutes. 15 minutes came and went. It's now Friday and still no call. I even left a voicemail later this week. The automated system said calls are returned in 24 hours. Apparently that is false. I decided to go into the store at opening and finally got what I needed. Shawn, the manager, was friendly and helpful. Two recommendations I have is that they need to hire more staff and do a better job of answering the phone and returning calls. I gave them three stars because the service when I am in the store is exceptional.

Surprisingly enough, all of the suits I tried on fit really well. To my pleasure, all of the pants were flat front. No idiotic pleats for this guy! Most importantly, the gf REALLY liked how all of the suits looked on me. Sold! Bottom line: A good product almost sells itself.
